Selection is weak and the prices are just too high for thrift store items. Also, it’s weirdly quiet in there because there’s no music playing or anything… just silence

please for the love of God and all that is holy STOP writing on the merchandise you are trying to sell with a black sharpie marker you understand on certain surfaces the black marker doesn’t come off? no matter how much goo be gone or nail polish remover you use you understand you are RUINING the items you are selling right? you realize I don’t want items that has .99 in black marker across the face of it. go buy some little price tags and stick them on WTF? i shouldn’t have to write reviews like

so rude here. i got in line to check out and waited about 15 minutes and when it was my turn the cashier told me she wasn’t actually open. i guess it wasn’t possible for her to exert the effort to tell me that when i walked up. in the meantime the other checkout line had grown to five people. rude, rude, rude!

Great prices, good selection. Only 3 stars because they don’t take debit cards, only cash. Also, some of the staff wasn’t very friendly.

Prices are great, selection is not. Unless you are looking for clothes or random stuffed animals there isn’t much here. That said, if that is what you’re looking for, great prices and good products.

I was recently on a «thrift-store» kick this weekend and wanted to hit up a few of them for some spring dresses and lose clothing(I’m currently pregnant). After 2 other thrift stores, I came to GCF and found two really cute dresses for only $ 5 each! I was really amazed at the variety of clothes I’d found — I could have kept going! One of the dresses was a cute white Mossimo spring dress that looked completely unworn! It was spotless white and soft like it hadn’t even been worn once. So for $ 5? Heck yeah! I don’t often go to thrift stores, but I actually plan on stopping at this Goodwill again. I liked the way the clothes are organized by types and colors. Sure you gotta dig around a bit — but for shirts, pants, dresses and even coats under $ 5, on a lazy afternoon, it’s totally worth it!

Nice place! The girls are always friendly! Clean! I go about once or twice a month, it’s hit or miss like all thrift stores!

«Good cause, bad execution» I’ve tried to drop things off here for donation multiple times, but failed on several occasions due to amazingly unhelpful service. Let me stress– drop-off here is supposed to be merely dropping the donation materials into a bin JUSTINSIDETHEDOOR. Yet somehow, the employees find a way to make this hard. They close on Saturdays at 6pm. One time, we arrived at literally 6:02pm. The door was locked, but there were employees visibly working just inside the door by the bin. I asked if they’d open the door so I could literally just drop off a bag of clothes/toys. They absolutely refused. OK, lame, especially since it’d take literally 1 second, but formally, it is after their close-time. Fine, I let it go. I came back today. We arrived on Saturday at 5:50pm. The store was open, and there were several people checking out. However, the door on the left for dropoff was locked. There were several other cars pulling into the parking lot at this time also wanting to drop-off gently used goods. I walked into the main store and asked if either they could open the door by the bins or if I could leave two bags in the main store. NO. The lady at the register said they don’t accept donations after 5:45pm(which I should stress is not posted– the sign on the donation dropoff door explicitly says 6pm– see picture uploaded here). She wanted me to make an entirely separate trip to drop off these items, which she wouldn’t even have to process if I dropped off now. I was speechless(as were the customers around me)– I just walked out. Never again. I don’t understand how a place called«Goodwill» can be so unhelpful to people wanting to contribute. Go somewhere else(e.g., Salvation Army store on Hillsborough Road)– that seems to be what they want anyway.

(Part of an ongoing list of Goodwill’s in the Triangle.) Quality: Decent. Not too many name brand clothing. But here’s the kicker(literally and figuratively): they have this one small shelf at the back of the store where they line all these *specially priced* name brand shoes people have donated: brand new Timberlands $ 50, whaat?! at GOODWILL??), a new pair of Tory Burch galoshes for $ 20, etc. I don’t know what to think of this, this extra pricing of things people have donated… but I guess as long as it’s going to a good cause? Quantity: Lots of clothes, good amount of housewares and furniture, very few books. Price: all items are a standard average price at all Goodwills these days: ~$ 4 – 5 for hanging clothing, $ 1 – 2 for bin items, except of course for the prices of those special shoes I talked about above. Furniture ranges from $ 20 – 60. Housewares ranges from $ 1 – 8. CASHONLY.

I came here looking for something for Halloween since I was in the area. It was my first time and it was a lot nicer than I expected. The clothes were organized pretty well by rack. I didn’t find really great 80s wear, but I did find a Brooks Brother jacket! Definitely, there are some gems in the Goodwill.
