Hair Excitement

WOW, I phoned Hair Excitement in Durham at 8:40 today needing an apt. ASAP. Holly told me to «come in right away». If that wasn’t great enough, Erica gave me a 10 foil blonde highlight and a cut that I can only describe as «Fabulous». You’ll be seeing me again soon Erica.

The employees here are great — so friendly and enthusiastic. I have been going to the same stylist now for 2 years, and I wouldn’t go to anyone else! Her name is Vicky and she is amazing at color and waxing. Every time she cuts my hair, it is better than expected. You won’t be disappointed with the service here.

They have absolutely made my hair excited again! My sisters and I have been coming to this place for almost 8 years! The staff is great, Joey has done wonders with all of our hair! Vicky does a great job with eyebrows! We will always be customers here!

I’m in. Been going here for three year now. Have had a few stylists and all but one has been really great. The price is decent, it’s close, and I generally leave satisfied.
Yup, I’ll be back.

I went to hair excitement to have my hair done and what I ended up with was way worse than what I came in with!!!
I walked in and asked if they accepted walk-​ins. Of course they did! So They put me down and I left for like 10 minutes to get a picture and came back. I showed it to the girl and all she kept saying was that it wouldn’t be exact but very close.
So what happened? The girl cutting my hair apparently only had an hour before her scheduled client came in. She washed and straighten my curly hair so she could make sure it was exact, I never had that done before but I went with it. As soon as she was finished straightening my hair, with out having made one cut, her client comes in! She then asks me if I would come back later in the evening or minded being bounced around. It was like 11am and I was like I’m sorry but I can’t. So she proceeds to still tell me my hair won’t do this style. (Funny bc I’ve had it done before.) So I looked up another style. We both were ok with this other style. So she proceeds to give me «layers!» Which apparently layers to her, means taking thinning shears to my hair and messing it up so bad I can’t take it out of a horrible pony tail or bun. I had already told her I didn’t like it being thinned!
I should have left after the second time she had to stop doing my hair to check out another stylists customer bc apparently someone is stealing and only «certain people» can do the register.
This place used to be amazing! Go somewhere else!

I have had a haircut and a pedicure here. The haircuts are very reasonably priced and I had a good experience.
The pedicures are to die for, but very expensive. I’d recommend it, but you might want to ask for it as a gift!
