Hancock has a great selection and helpful staff that will satisfy all your fabric needs. The store can seem a little disorganized, but the staff is very helpful and will lead you to whatever you’re looking for. They were also very knowledgeable and helped answer some sewing questions when I was looking to reupholster some chairs.
Be sure to checkout the back section with clearance fabrics. If you don’t need a lot of fabric you’ll be sure to find a few gems lurking in the back for a great price.

Hancock Fabrics consistently has the best sales, best selection, and best customer service of any of the other fabric stores in the RDU area (which generally includes, but is not limited to, Jo Ann and Wal-​Mart, ha!). I have racked up a ton of rewards points using my Hancock customer card and they are great about sending e-​mails with coupons and announcements of sales. I got several years of this gorgeous embroidered Asian silk brocade there for 75% off; I use it to make yoga mat bags and meditation aids as gifts. Hancock always has a great selection of fabrics – for clothing and decorating – and their notions are almost always on sale. I have been visiting this store regularly for about four years and have noticed very little changeover in the staff. Everyone who works there is cheerful and helpful and they always make my experience pleasant.
