The best compliment I can give Legacy is that my 9-yr-old daughter, in her third year of dance there, only wants to take more and more classes. The teachers are super-skilled and have high standards, and they want to see students soar. The studio director shows a deep understanding of children and seems as interested in growing their self-esteem & confidence as she is in growing their dance skills. The annual repertory performances at Carolina Theatre are a highlight of a year’s worth of lessons, in my opinion. Not only do the children get to perform in a real show(not just a dog-and-pony recital) in a historic theater, they get to understand all the work(creating sets, costumes, being disciplined, rehearsing as a group) and commitment required to put on that show. I also love the laid-back, creatively chaotic atmosphere of the place itself. And so does my daughter — who recently asked if we could«spend more time» at the studio … just hanging out.
