I was wildly tempted by both the goat cheese, arugula ravioli and the fried risotto balls, but settled on the former. The goat cheese was very flavorful and the arugula was a nice added texture and flavor. The noodles tasted fresh and though the day of the food truck rodeo was cold, this dish warmed me right up!

one word, FABULOUS! After checking out their menu, I stopped by their food truck today at the Durham food truck rodeo and had the risotto balls, my goodness if they hadn’t ran out before I left I would have gotten a second order for the way home. I can’t wait to try another item on their menu!

Very very tasty. I had a sample of the butternut squash spaetzle at the food truck rodeo last weekend, and it was delicious. Flavors just exploding in my mouth. The staff are very nice and I look forward to tracking this truck! :)

«Motion is tranquility» — Stirling Moss Like some of my Unilocal fellows, I have also been paying close attention to what I eat, and how much I eat, which is why I was so glad I checked out Fullsteam Brewery’s Facebook page and saw {local} INMOTION will be making an appearance Thursday night. This food truck is the creation of the chefs and artisans of Boxcarr Farms, established in Cedar Grove. Because of that, you can count on fact all ingredients used in their recipes are fresh, home grown, minimally processed, maximally nutritious. P. S. Boxcarr Farms caters and delivers as well! Ingredients are only a part of the recipes; how to put them together shows how creative you are, and how likely can you convert folks to this fresh food culture. Despite the full menu, and my unrelenting hunger, I have to limit myself. I picked two that night, the Guava glazed pork belly with yucca and potato purée topped with cilantro salsa, and Frito Misto, tempura fried fresh vegetables, with a little something extra. After I put in my order, the young lady poked her head out and asked, «how do you feel about eggs?» «I’m not allergic to it or anything, if that’s what you are asking.» «Okay,» she replied, «because we got a surprise for you.» That surprise ended up being a hard-boiled egg, cut in halves, tempura breaded and fried. It was quite an experience, because as much tempura I ate and cooked myself, I would have NEVER thought about eggs. It was delightfully delicious. Just like the 5-stars rating would say, Local In Motion/Boxcarr Farms is «Woohoo! As good as it gets!»

I headed to the BoxCarr Farms food truck today just after eating a full breakfast. I know I know… pretty gluttonous of me! You would to if you needed your sweet fix after trying to read a book about dating and hearing a couple make out next to you in a tightly squeezed restaurant! Anyway I’m glad I tried them! It was my first visit and I was pleased. I love me some bread pudding. One of these days I’ll make it right. I also love me some French Toast. I had the french toast/bread pudding. It was soooo good, topped with whipped cream, cooked apples and candied walnuts. It quickly cured me of my mild depression along with listening to Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me on NPR… Comfort food at it’s best!

Yum, Yum, Yum. After reading about Boxcarr in the Indy, I’ve been following their every move. This farm to fork food truck delivers the goods! Tried their gnocchi with braised pork shoulder, broccoli rabe, and jus for $ 6 and it was outstanding. Frito miso(tempura fried veggies) & loco sauce f/t radishes, turnips, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, onions, and sweet potatoes was perfect to enjoy with a glass of beer or wine at Fullsteam(where they are on most Thursday nights). These 2 dishes around $ 6 a piece easily fed two adults, but you’d be tempted(rightly so) to get more. Looked like their beet salad, tamales and tres leche were also top notch. If you see the Boxcarr Farms food truck, do yourself a favor and check it out!

On par with Kokyu, but offering a totally different style of food, Local in Motion just catapulted its way toward the top of my fave food trucks list. This mobile food concept is a new innovation from Boxcarr — a 30-acre farm out in Cedar Grove. And it’s designed to make seasonal, local, awesome food available all around town. Looking at their Twitter feed, it seems they’ve been making regular stops at the Durham Farmer’s Market and 3Cups. Today, they were testing out Vin Rouge’s parking lot for lunch and I hopehopehope it becomes a regular hangout for them because I want more! Those of you who remember Mom’s Delicious Dishes might find this somewhat similar. The menu today featured a variety of fresh sandwiches and soups. A distinguishing factor is that there are more vegetarian options. And those options are delicious! Today I feasted on the grilled goat cheese sandwich — with roasted red peppers, onions, and currants. The cheese was spread thick and oozed out with each bite; the currants added a nice subtle sweet note against the tang of the cheese. The cup of sweet potato soup was pureed to a nice creamy consistency that coated the spoon and tasted like fall. Digging around the website I see a breakfast, brunch, and tapas menu for the truck as well. Chicken and waffles from a truck?! Shiitake and swiss chard tamales? Somebody pinch me! Local in Motion, I’m very pleased to meet you; and I look forward to many happy returns!
