Macy’s

This is specifically regarding their bill collection service. This is what will happen to you if you sign up for the no-​interest for a year payment. I bought a sofa at Northgate.
I have never been so thoroughly offended as when Macy’s bill collectors were set after me the week of my wedding, honeymoon, and beyond.
First of all, they called me every single morning, BEFORE 9 AM, to hassle me about a $ 50 payment, which, I understand, is the minimum payment per month. But given my excellent payment history, it wasn’t as if I was going to suddenly up and stop paying.
Secondly, this kind of bothersome phone-​calling continued ON THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING DAY (a SUNDAY!), and, probably would have continued throughout the honeymoon, were it not for the fact that we were out of the country.
Thirdly, when I finally picked up the phone after the whole shebang was over, I was basically scolded by some debt collector who asked me to «make sure I remembered to pay» my $ 50, as if I were a child who had simply forgotten my responsibilities. This was reprehensible behavior. I had gotten many Macy’s gift cards for the wedding. I will probably try to sell them, or get rid of them somehow, for there is no way that I would engage in a business that treats their paying customers (I have been shopping at Macy’s since I was 5) like either itinerant criminals or forgetful children. All in all, I was about a week or so late with the payment.
Absolutely the worst.

I would discourage making any major purchases at Macy’s. My spouse and I bought bedroom furniture and delivery was very problematic. When we’d finally received all the components we realized the mattress wasn’t right for us. We discussed it with the very nice sales guy, who helped us pick out a different one, then we waited a little bit longer for that delivery/​exchange.
They ended up owing us a refund, but we learned that for some unfathomable reason, Macy’s couldn’t simply put through a full credit on the credit card we used.
Anyway, we have not been able to determine what we really ended up paying for the furniture because they applied a partial refund back to our credit card and then sent us random Macy’s gift cards in varying amounts. Weird and not okay.

This is the second time I’ve tried to buy shoes at Macy’s Northgate Mall location and been stymied by the lack of assistance — not a soul in sight. After finding someone, I was advised this store didn’t carry the brand or the model of shoe seen online. Walked to Sears and found the shoes for $ 10 less than

My mom got me a dress here that was a bit too big, but when I went back to return it the sales attendants were very helpful and nice. By chance, I actually asked the same lady for help who helped my mom, so it was a quick and effortless transaction. The clothes were all really cute and I was very tempted to buy a lot more things rather than just exchanging that one item! I will surely go back there next time I want to go on a department store spree!
