Looks like I can’t give zero stars which would be appropriate. Just waited in drive thru 15 min for 2 Big Macs, one hamburger, one fry and 3 waters. Not rocket science. Gave feedback to people at both Windows very politely about the wait time. Morgan at the 2nd window informed me that if I don’t like to wait thAt I probably shouldn’t come to this particular McDonald’s anymore. Ready to leave but noticed my waters and fries were not given over. Apparently the fries weren’t included so I asked to add them. She took my card to her manager who I saw rolling her eyes and being annoyed. Morgan then informed me that she couldn’t get me fries b/c she didn’t have a register. Seriously? I guess I really shouldn’t expect much(would you like fries with that =not everyone grows up to be a rocket scientist) but at least A very basic level of customer service… Is that really too much to ask?

I went through the drive thru ask for a quarter pounder deluxe with extra sauce on the side the special sauce the Big Mac sauce they charge me $ 0.50 to the drive thru but when I went to the window I didn’t have it in my bag and then when I ask a guy for it he told me that would be a dollar I in turn told him I just paid $ 0.50 for it he said I’m sorry man it’s a dollar so I paid my ticket and then turned around went back inside and ask for a refund the manager was very rude and they told me the sauce was on there I interned show them the sauce was not on there the manager then in turn told me it would cost me $ 2 I think you charge me $ 0.50 he said lol and gave me my money back then turned around and put my sandwich on the line to be resold absolutely disgusting will never go there again nor will I ever recommend it McDonald’s is such a disappointment anymore

Nope. Just don’t do it. I work just down the street from this place. Never had anything close to a satisfactory experience in over 4 years here. Terrible on pretty much every possible level — from service to sanitation. If you order more than one item, there will be a mistake. Dead fly in the salad was the deal breaker for me.

It’s 100 degrees outside, and the«ice cream machine ain’t workin’.» Do you have any idea how much money you’re losing, franchise owner? I’ll go somewhere else… Disappointed.

Decent place. Good location lots of parking. Not as bad as other reviews say but not as good as I expect a Southern McDonalds to be either. #1: biscuits should not be wet or overly oily. #2: you need a soda fountain, especially with the slow lines and tiny small drink(pay 50 cents more for a huge drink) — feels a bit cheap and lots of people in line for refills It’s well lit and clean. Bathrooms too. Nice people but a bit slow. Don’t go when it’s busy if you can help it.

Ewww. This place is nasty. Don’t want to go into too many details because I would like to keep my non McDonald’s food down. It’s just nasty.

For such a premium location as being located in the heart of Downtown Durham, not too far from the DPAC or Carolina Theater, you’d really expect this location to be at the top of its game. Well, think again. If you’re going to go here, your best bet is to go through the drive thru because all of the best and most capable staff seems to be put on the window. Go inside only if you have about 20 or 30(if not more) minutes to spare. Even if the dining room area is empty and there are only two other people in line, this location manages to move at a snails pace. The register staff always seems to be new or going through training and have no idea what they’re doing and have an attitude as if you’re inconveniencing them by wanting to spend your money at this location to help pay their salaries. Service with a smile? Don’t expect it here. If you stare at the staff they’ll usually roll their eyes, look irritated or won’t even make eye contact with you at all. Be sure to check your order as well because being able to count or remember your order seems to be asking or expecting too much. Oh, and the ice cream machine is always broken and the place seems to be a hangout point for Durham’s homeless population as well as flies in the summer time. Happy dining!

All I am going to say is that it is my least favorite McDonalds in the area. Many changes are needed…

One of the worst McDonald’s I’ve been in lately. Extremely slow service, with nothing to indicate whether we should be lining up in one line or two. Made mistakes in our order, and the trash barrel(singular?) was so full that people were literally stacking their trays full of trash on top of it because there was nowhere else to put the trash. I guess I should be thankful there was soap in the men’s room.

What’s the point in reviewing McDonald’s? Well, not all«stores» are created equally. This one is pretty much a disgrace to the McDonald’s brand as well as to Downtown Durham. I currently work in downtown Durham and have only 45 mins for lunch, right at noon. I usually bring my lunch but sometimes I want a nice, healthy grilled chicken salad. 45 mins should be plenty of time to get said salad from McDonald’s, eat it, and get back to work on time. Not here. That is, not if you order inside the restaurant. The drive-thru does move faster. But if you’re a pedestrian trying to be all green and fit and you walk there, you’re screwed. The«dining room» is an even bigger fail at breakfast. On a recent Friday morning I decided to treat myself to a Southern-style chicken biscuit and a latte on my way to work. I have throughly enjoyed said meal at other locations previously. Here, only one register was open when I first arrived(the drive thru line was very long but in hindsight would have been a better choice — 20⁄20!). A second register opened but the employee seemed ill prepared and poorly trained to handle customers. He forgot to make my latte and when I reminded him he made me a latte without any coffee in it, just milk. As I was waiting for it, he asked me if I wanted my latte stirred. Huh? Is he making me a martini?(I wish) Just make the damn latte! I had to ask another girl to do it. Then when I got to work(after high-tailing it there because McDonald’s made me late) and I finally ate my chicken biscuit sandwich, I discovered that it was made with the nasty processed McChicken patty NOT with the thick, juicy southern style chicken party it is supposed to be made with. Noooooooooo!!! I’ll never know how I made it through that work day. It took real strength. I implore someone to open another establishment or two in Downtown Durham that offers quick, grab-and-go breakfast and lunch options with properly trained staff. Thank you for listening.

OK, stopped in just passing through, and that is all we did, pass through this one. There was some guy giving a shouting, cursing, rant in the main dining room to no one in particular and no staff member even gave a hoot even though it was WAY more than distracting. There seemed to be about 5 or six sets of folks all waiting on their food and no one in a particular rush to provide it. I am glad this is nowhere near my regularly traveled byways, because I won’t be back. Oh, and the bathrooms were filthy to boot. just sayin’.
