I just wanted to post about my experience with Move It Be Fit. I first signed up the end of January this year, with a goal of losing 40 pounds in a year. With John & Ashleigh’s help I have currently lost 30 pounds! I found the My Fitness Pal app to be VERY helpful, and, really, fun to use. So, if you want to see some real results and change some habits, give them a call!

An absolutely awesome experience! Worked out for a year with Mike and got into the best shape of my life. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to get in shape. Looked forward to the workouts every week! Thanks for whipping me into shape!

I love the MIBF staff and their commitment to your weight loss goals. Workouts are just that WORKOUTS, but I love that. The MIBF staff truly make you feel supported on your journey to the new you. If you are willing to make the commitment, You will not be disappointed!

I no longer live in Durham, but I wanted to leave a positive word about MIBF. Like the other reviewer said, how does this place have so few reviews?! I started coming to the bootcamps after I realized I needed to do something about how out of shape I was. I was intimidated by the thought of attending a class and embarrassing myself, but I was making zero headway working out by myself, I couldn’t afford a personal trainer, and the price was right. The other participants made me feel really comfortable and welcomed, and the class attracts people at all levels — there was everyone from super-athletes, to people trying to lose substantial amounts of weights. For every exercise the trainers would show you how to make it harder or easier, so that everyone was challenged equally. This made the classes intense, but I never felt like I was getting left behind or asked to do things I wasn’t capable of. The best part was, that even in larger classes, I always felt like I got a good deal of personal attention. The trainers were quick to correct me if I was doing something wrong but would also note my progress and encourage me to push harder. When I started out I could only go once a week because I needed all of the other six days to recover, but eventually I worked up to going three times a week. Needless to say, I got a lot stronger, and started looking better too. I know there’s been some staff turnover since I’ve been there last, but 90% of the people I worked with were great. Minus one star for the website– that thing is a monstrosity.

I enjoyed the yoga class with Eleanor. Prices are the best around.

How does this place have no reviews? Their website is a little 90s, but don’t let that scare you off. Move It Be Fit offers personal training as well as yoga, pilates, and bootcamp style classes. I got one of the LivingSocial coupons for 10 bootcamp classes, and I love it so far. The people who come to these classes are at all different levels of fitness, so you feel welcome whether you’re an athlete or just getting started with exercise, and there’s definitely a sense of camaraderie as you get through these workouts together. I like that the exercises aren’t gimmicky, but short bursts of movements you know are effective, like push ups, burpees, squats, that kind of thing– no silly copyrighted workouts here. The trainers will push you but they have a sense of humor as well, so it keeps things fun. Definitely an awesome workout! They offer bootcamps in several locations in Durham– different area parks and indoor classes in their studio. I’ve only been to the studio, though. In this sweltering NC summer heat I sweat standing still outside, so it’s safe to say I’m too wimpy to bust out some mountain climbers out there.
