Pedro Williams

Today I finally got to try Pedro Williams! This is a very nice place with outstanding customer service. I was warmly greeted and received a complimentary Fullsteam beer while I waited. Amanda was my stylist and she is very knowledgeable. She took the time to listen and get a full understanding of what I wanted cut and trimmed and executed my wishes to perfection in spite of my lacking ability to talk hair styling.
All in all, I was very pleased and look forward to visiting again soon.

Won’t be back, After telling and showing the stylist the length I wanted my hair no less than 4 times, she cut it an inch too short and then cut the sides unevenly and in a way that makes it impossible to make my hair presentable. I won’t be back and I’ll need to pay another $ 20 to someone else to fix the mess they made.

Love this barber shop! Their hair stylists are great– they cut my husbands hair and mine (we go to Leah). He always comes home looking fantastic and for women they charge by «above the shoulder» or «below the shoulder» and it is significantly cheaper than going to a regular hair salon. Perfect to get my hair trimmed frequently without costing an arm and a leg! Also appreciate the Fullsteam beverage at noon…

Very great haircut– my new favorite place in Durham. Simone was very nice and gave me the best haircut that I have gotten in the few years I’ve been in Durham.

Got my hair cut here a while back and my haircut has never stayed looking so good for so long! Leah did a great job. I’m so happy to not have to go back to great clips. If you want a pro haircut, go to Pedro Williams!

Eliza is a miracle worker! She took my too long, too thick wavy mess and made sure it was manageable. It feels so much lighter and her attention to detail was beyond impressive. Much better than I’ve received at much pricier locations.
It’s been about six weeks and I’m planning to go back soon because my cut is growing out.
To be honest, I think this is the first time I’ve actually wanted to go get my haircut in the recommended time frame. In sum: go see Eliza!

I had my hair done by Amanda today. She did a fantastic job on my hair; my wife couldn’t stop complementing on my cut! I also got the back of my neck cleaned up with hot foam and a straight blade. That was VERY relaxing and can’t wait to get a full hot shave the next time I come in!

I was a little skeptical going to this salon as a lady with extremely unruly hair, but I work across the street so I figured I would give it a go. Amanda was amazing! A wash, cut, blow-​out (let me tell you my hair is not easy to blow-​dry) usually costs me somewhere in the area of $ 60. The look on my face when she told me it was $ 27 must have been frightening. I was blown away. On top of that, 9^th street employees get a discount so it was only $ 24! I am definitely 100% going to Amanda again. Especially because she was super helpful and conscientious throughout the whole process.

Pedro Williams is generously giving complimentary haircuts to Duke Cancer and they’re caregivers. This is such a generous and thoughtful offer it must be commended. They have earned my business with their extraordinary act of kindness and philanthropy.

Here’s the thing– as a man, there are not many places where I feel I can get a decent haircut at a price that justifies the experience. This new barber shop on Ninth Street met my expectations as far as service (my hair is indeed shorter) but with a minimum of frills.
I came with a friend who got a hot shave which also look luxurious and fantastic. It was a short wait (despite making an appointment) but the cold beer helped with that. They seem have a good staff with easy-​going attitudes about hair which helps.

I’ve been going to the same barber forever and I finally decided that he just wasn’t meeting my expectations anymore. That’s when I found Pedro Williams on Unilocal.It was almost hard to not try this place considering it is the only barber shop in Durham with 5 stars. So today I decided to stop in. Walk-​ins are welcomed, however the kind woman on the phone assured me that an online-​scheduled appointment would be best.
The shop was a bit hard to find because it is tucked right behind Brueggers, but it can be easily located once you see the neon «Fresh Cuts» sign. Upon first entry, you could tell this place meant business. The wallpaper was made from pages of magazines (it’s sick), there were classic barber chairs, and awesome music playing in the background. I had an appointment with Eliza. She was super cool and we had a great chat while she was giving me THE BEST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF GETTING. She took her time, making sure everything was just right. When I though it couldn’t get any better, she shaved my neck with a straight razor. A STRAIGHT RAZOR. I had never experienced this before! My mind was blown out of proportion.
Bottom line: This place gives killer haircuts at an extremely reasonable price. Pedro Williams has far surpassed my expectations and with that, they have gained another happy customer.

If you are tired of going to one of the many faceless, corporate-​giant haircut places, then Pedro is for you. I’ve gone to Arrow in Raleigh for about a year now and much like them (same owner), Pedro Williams is so much more than a place to get your hair cut. Upon entering, you are greeted with a smile and a beer (which should make you return said smile, even on the worst days). The folks at Pedro are no newbies in the hair world and will take care of you. Natalie hooked me up with a simple buzz cut and I have no complaints (the straight razor shave is always a nice finish). Kudos to Pedro for giving the folks of Durham an awesome place to hang out and get one of the best cuts in NC.

I’ve been getting crappy haircuts at various locations in Durham for a year since I moved back (the terrible sports themed place on 9^th, a barbershop at American Tobacco and another place on 9^th). FINALLY, I got a great haircut at Pedro Williams from Eliza! I highly recommend the place and the stylist. Eliza was really thorough and precise; she even trimmed my beard. All at a very reasonable price too. The icing on the cake was the complementary can of Full Steam Cackalacky. I’m so happy to have found an awesome barbershop. I don’t have to dread haircuts any more.
