Open until 8pm M-Th but closes at 2:30pm on Friday. NOT open Saturday. The Pavilion is a roughly 8,000 square foot glass enclosure, providing views of the Chapel, the Plaza, the to-be-renovated West Union façade, as well as the Anderson Woods. During West Union renovations(scheduled to be completed in 2015), the Events Pavilion will serve as temporary dining space. Once West Union renovations are completed and dining services return to that building, the Events Pavilion will be opened for event use.

Penn Pavilion has replaced Great Hall as the main dining hall on Duke’s Campus. It features a variety of options within its glass walls: –a salad bar with 2 soup options and fruit(fruit bar exclusively in the mornings) –Sitar(Indian), which is very popular –a sandwich station similar to Subway, offering a pretty good deal of $ 6 for a footlong sandwich plus chips –a Mexican area offering burritos, burrito bowls, and chips(very large portions, wasn’t able to finish, was alright) –a pizza/pasta station that serves omelettes in the morning –Southern comfort food: mac and cheese, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collard greens, etc. Prices tend to be reasonable for the amount of food you receive, though I may be biased because of Duke’s dining plan’s inflated number of food points. It is quite a large space, with many tables scattered around the interior and bar like seating arrangements near the glass walls for the view. The staff tend to be friendly and willing to chat with people as they are cleaning and manning the cash registers. However, the number of food options is lacking in comparison to the Great Hall and tend to be the same; in addition to the fact that it has limited hours on the weekends, it is not so popular among the student body.
