Be careful! We bought several pieces of furniture from RH — but the big disappointment was a nice looking $ 2500 Belgian slope arm sofa which started squeaking after a year and a half. It’s maddening to sit on it and hear it screech every single time! We called the store but of course«we were the first» to call and complain about that. So while we like our desk and aviator chair, we don’t feel confident to shop there anymore.

12/4/14:5pm: I went into this location specifically looking to drop some serious money on a bed frame. I walked about the store for a good 20 minutes and did not receive any help. The three associates chatting with each other at the register clearly saw me and others and I did not once see an employee offer to help. For the price you pay for this furniture, one would think that you could be offered some assistance. I guess part of the high price of the furniture is to offset the salary of three people standing around.

I absolutely love the rustic look of the furniture but it is way too expansive. I normal computer desk can be as much as $ 2500. If you have the money and you like a rustic look I would suggest Restoration Hardware. If you are looking to save money I would strongly suggest other retail options in Raleigh, Durham or Chapel Hill.

Customer NO service! Went online to shop for a «Luxury plush throw» on Christmas day 2012. Saw the item, a replacement for one chewed up by the dog, for $ 29. NO free shipping, so I decided to pick one up in this store the next day. WELL, of course, none in stock! In addition, the price was now $ 59. Once home, I called their 800 number and explained that I wished to buy the throw for the $ 29 price I saw the day before. They were unable to assist. Guess I will just have to watch the website for when it goes on clearance.

I recently moved and wanted a specific paint that RH carries. However, they closed their location in the Crabtree Mall. Consequently, I called their Durham store to confirm they had the paint in stock. I went to Durham and could not find the paint so I asked the lady at the counter. «I remember talking to you,» she said, «and, «I told you we have lots of paint in stock.» Of course, the paint I wanted was not that paint(even though I asked!) I came up with a brilliant idea. I took my paint can lid to the local hardware store, that matched it perfectly, and the price was about half what RH charged. As far as what remains of Restoration Hardware: Restoration Hardware has decided to become a catalog store. All I can think of is Sears or the giant phone book left on my door yearly that I immediately send to the recycling bin. It is big and useless. Restoration Hardware has morphed into a ridiculous retailer that has become inconvenient to shop at and lacks the core merchandise that made it a popular retailer in the first place. If I do, however, purchase a castle in Transylvania, I will be the first to let RH know — so I can once again get back on this mailing list for the most exclusive over sized, over priced, dull, colorless, reproductions available.

This place is amazing and their customer service is wonderful! Everything we have gotten has been such high quality. The prices are high, but not any higher than the other places we looked.

UPDATE: RH has changed their product line. They are now a high-end furniture store. They don’t even have lighting, bath fixtures or hardware in the store… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On a very short list of chain stores worth visiting. RH is unique. Their well-crafted furniture is unusual for a franchise. Some of it is artisan-made. Their actual hardware(yeah, they still have some) is limited but of excellent quality. So is their lighting and their bath fixtures(my favorite). I’m not into the yuppy thing so I don’t buy the big ticket items — yet I appreciate their quality. I have bought their lighting, curtains, towels and a few other items as well. They have some great little«made in USA» treasures. It’s an excellent place to buy gifts. RH is a great place to shop, especially if you can catch a sale. One caveat: stay away from the Christmas«stocking stuffers» & the silly retro items. Where else though can you buy an authentic desk fan from the 20s? Or a solid alabaster lamp? There
