I would actually prefer to rate this place a half-star, but unfortunately I don’t have that option. Yes, the workout equipment is new, but sadly the customer service I received while going was not. There are a couple nice people in there, but let me tell you about the ‘personal training fitness assessment’ I received: First of all, my assessment was rescheduled the morning of, while I was driving to the appointment. When I got there, the person at the desk wasn’t even apathetic and showed very poor customer service. So when I finally received the fitness assessment, the trainer was more or less described as ‘meh’. Due to over scheduling I had to complete my assessment with another person, when I was promised one on one time… even then when it was over I had to sit and wait to get my results. After the trainer talked with me about my results, I was sitting in silence while he was USINGHISCELLPHONE, saying NOTHING, NOTTELLINGMEITWASOVER, and me sitting there like a deer in headlights expecting an answer, he has the AUDACITY to ask, «Is there anything you need?» Oh, ok… because you told me the assessment was over… how unprofessional is that? Also, whenever I went to the gym, there were select times when I was greeted, other times I was the scum of the earth while other gym members received the full treatment. I mean, would it be worth it for me to pay more JUST to be treated like a human being… I am NEVER going to this place again. Had I been aware that the customer service was this mediocre, I would have never wasted my time with this place.

I really like this gym! I was a member of the YMCA for a long time and decided to check this gym out because of the high price of the Y and it didn’t have the weight lifting equipment I wanted. I was happy to see Retro had a ton of equipment and more than 1 of several machines so you can use one if someone is on the other. I’m an early bird and prefer to workout at 5 or 6 am and this is the perfect time as there is not too many people there and I can get through my workout without hassle. The only reason I would give this gym 4 stars is because the couple times a week I decide to go in the evening it’s VERY crowded and members bring their children that appear to be anywhere from 3 to 15 years old and let them run around the gym. Several times I have seen children with their noses glued to iPads sitting on equipment pretending to use it. I really believe the staff shouldn’t allow this and should monitor the gym level especially during busy times. Really other than that it’s great. Love the cardio theater and the fact that there is TONS of cardio equipment, you never have to wait on that. Friendly front desk staff and nice to have a smoothie bar as well.

The one star is for the lazy idiots running the front where the smoothie bar is. 6:22 and I’m told it’s closed. Not 6:50 or 6:55, more than a half hour before you close.

The gym is not clean. There is never any paper towels to even wipe off equipment and the garbage bins are always overflowing onto the floor. The staff puts their personal bottles(I have seen this on numerous occasions) in the ice machine to cool them off and them they scoop the same ice the dirty bottle was just laying in to make your smoothie. Between the staff not even responding to you asking to replace paper towels or toilet paper, the lack of cleanliness in this place is disgusting. They have one man who pretends to wipe down equipment but just tries to flirt with any female in the gym at the time rather then do his job. Management does not care and the staff states they are ALL only part time.

Needs considerable improvement. The management needs to watch the floor and enforce the alleged rules. I’m hoping it gets better, but I’ve yet to really be impressed.

I have really enjoyed working out here. The prices are very reasonable, the people are friendly, the facilities are clean. Even at the peak hours, there’s still a lot of machines and doesn’t feel too crowded.

The gym is spacious and really clean. Great for the average lifters. If you are a power lifter or even want to squat, stay away. They have one squat rack. Half the bars were missing from the benches. The gym was made for people who focus on cardio, the free weight section is really small. A lot of unused space has gone to waste in this gym. Also if you are trying to do deadlifts, good luck. No room to do deadlift and the plates have the sharp edges to them. So when you drop the bar you have reset every time. I would call this gym a larger planet fitness.

I joined two weeks ago and I love it!!! Great price, staff is very helpful. They even have a girl that’s speaks Spanish that helps my mother with questions. I already got three people to join ;)

I wish I could give this Gym 0 stars. Mirroring the prior comments I too signed up for a membership, in late November, and was promised that the gym would open on December 15th. However that was not true. In fact the gym did not open until February 19th. And gave absolutely no correspondence to its future members in the interim. I attempted to cancel my membership multiple times over the past 3 weeks and was pushed aside. Either the phones were not working or unanswered. Yesterday(2⁄19) I received a call that the gym was open and was immediately charged for the 1st month. I have since joined another gym. After calling for a refund I was told that it would be impossible. And that if they wanted they could charge me 25% of my contract. This was said in the tone of a threat. Needless to say I was able to cancel my membership without the charge, but have still not received a refund for the $ 70 I spent on a gym that I never even used. You simply can’t sell a membership under the guise of it opening soon and then blame«external delays» for complications. If this is the case all members should be give the option of a FULLREFUND, if they desire it, for this huge inconvenience. If my experience is any indication of how this location will operate I strongly suggest NOTJOINING! There are many other locations in the area with better management and without the loud color scheme.

I can’t really speak to the quality of the gym per se, because I am still waiting to get into it. I purchased a membership in late September/early October, because they were supposed to be opening a new location near my house in November. It is currently the end of December, and the new location is not scheduled to open until February at the earliest. What makes the delay worse is that I have heard nothing from the gym at all. The guy who took my money has not reached out to me and neither has corporate to let me know why the delays have persisted. I’m sure it will be a great gym once it opens. The space is wonderful, and the package I purchased was an amazing deal. Here’s hoping!
