We’ve been to Rx Wine Lab several times now for their Friday/Saturday evening pop-ups and most recently a «Wine 101» class with Somm Tristan. Awesome atmosphere, great selection of cool wines, and very knowledgeable guys running the show. They constantly rotate what they’re serving, so you never know what you’ll find when you walk in — you just know it will be delicious. The class was fun and we learned a lot as well — it focused on Old World vs. New World wines. This place is lots of fun even if you know nothing about wine. Nothing about this place is pretentious and the guys are happy to explain and teach.

Fantastic concept; friendly, personable, knowledgeable somm team provide education w/tasty, off-beaten path wines that you can mix/match in tasting flight as well as full pours/bottles. Great value, plus the best meat & cheese board to nosh on, and a minimum of pretension. See the documentary Somm to know why it is such a big deal that Master Somm Fred Dexheimer has come to Durham. His partner Tristan was our somm and he was great!

Rx Wine Lab is such a fun, intimate, and chill place to enjoy and learn about some delicious wines. It’s currently in a «pop-up» stage at Golden Belt and I want them to stay there! The space is lovely and the Somms who work there are so approachable. I went with a large group one Friday and we stayed pretty late because it was so much fun. I highly recommend trying a flight of wines for $ 15, the Somms are excellent at hearing about your tastes and getting you something you’ll enjoy. If you find a wine that you love, a glass goes for $ 10. Their meat and cheese plate were also lovely and even though I declared myself to be «full from dinner», I definitely indulged quite liberally in the cheese and bread. Go check out Rx Wine Lab before everyone else discovers it!
