Good selection and labeling; convenient location. They have a moderate selection of clothing and electronics cords.

Typical Salvation Army — but with a larger furniture selection than I expected. Couches, end tables, large TV armoires, and more. Tons of clothes, as well!

This is my usual thrift store because it’s closest to home. It’s not amazing, but it is a solid thrift store, full of lots of clothing in good shape, neat housewares(though oftentimes less funky and more basic), and clean furniture. The vintage selection is not very good – or maybe it starts out pretty decent but is really picked-through by the time I get there? – but, like most thrift stores, you can find some gems with a little digging. [Insider tip: At least one area consignment shop brings some of their unsold items here.] There are two dressing rooms and the people that work there are always really friendly, despite the fact that they’re usually understaffed.

This place is gigantic. It’s like a huge warehouse of thrifty goodies. I am not a «huge» thrift store person, however, I was able to find 3NICE long sleeve shirts and a pair of shoes(everything except one shirt looked as good as everything else I own, barely used) for about $ 15.00. Can I get a woot woot?

I second Oliver C: this is the best thrift shop in Durham. They have clothes for women/men/children but I would say the real reason to come here is the furniture. This is really the only place that I go to for furniture. Like all thrift stores of course, you take what you can find. There are often some diamonds in the rough here that are ripe for re-painting/re-finishing/washing down well with bleach. MYTYPEOFFURNITURE!(Habitat for Humanity hand me ups also has furniture but focusses more on the cabinetry/building supplies end.) Additionally, there are all sorts of weird kitchen items for sale. I have found many colored glass candy dishes and old iced tea glasses here. It’s like someone is continuously cleaning out the basement of their eccentric great-aunt’s basement here in the housewares section. and I like it :)
