I was told the take-n-bake pizzas would be ready in 3 minutes and hot dogs in 8 minutes. So I shopped first. At the register the cashier didn’t even have the codes to charge me for the pizza, like Costco does all the time. And then the hotdogs were going to take an additional 20 minutes. Sam’s was short staffed on a Saturday and the shopping carts were overflowing into parking spaces. Go to Costco!!!

I went here to redeem a virtually free membership through LivingSocial. I have been a member of the store before Costco opened about 9 miles away from me. It was always OK/nothing special compared to other Sams locations. My experience today proved that I was smart to move to Costco. Took me 35 minutes to wait in line to get a membership. There were four people behind the counter but only one elderly man doing the work. The other folks were looking for their water bottle, counting drawers and chitchatting, while a huge line build up. Do yourself a favor and go to Costco even if it’s three times further away. The service and management is far superior to this Sam’s Club.

This Sam’s Club is in the same lot as a Super Target(which has a better selection, no yearly membership, and doesn’t have that warehouse feel). The choice seems clear. BUT, livingsocial was running a membership deal, so we signed up to try it out. I thought I was going to be starry-eyed at all the crazy low prices(that’s why you buy in bulk, right?). Instead, we were met with a bit of a bumbler at member services(my photo appears on both my card and my boyfriend’s), and a manager who he was quite snippy with. As we walked through the aisles, I kept saying, «well, this is the same price at Target… and I don’t have to buy a month’s supply of it.» If you own a small restaurant or a catering service, sure, this place is a slam dunk. Throw that 250 pack of styrofoam take-out boxes into your cart and you’re golden. But for me and my boyfriend, we’ll be back in the land of Target, where we’ll put our $ 45 membership savings towards some adorable knick-knacks that we never knew we needed(but now MUSTHAVE). Oh yeah, and they don’t take Visa(?!)

This is one of the worst Sam’s Club ever. I cannot say this unequivocally, but I try to avoid this location if possible. The one in Morrisville is marginally better. I attempted to make a return and proceeded to wait line for over 30 minutes. They had one person working the returns. Then the roof began to leak… seriously. I always try to avoid this location.

I’ve been a Sam’s Club member for about 3 years, I will NOT renew my membership. Today I went in with my husband to buy food items and my husband found a shirt and book he added to our order. The cashier in lane 6 at 12:12pm today had an assistant. After the cashier rang up the item, it was the assistant’s task to place it in the cart. Well, this snotty female had a real attitude. The book we purchased must have offended her. She looked at it(Blood Feud by Ed Klein) and put it in the carriage. Then she took my husband’s shirt, balled it up and threw it in the carriage! I said«REALLY?» and she glared at me. My husband took his new shirt and refolded it. She did not break eye contact with me for the rest of the check out process. I called the store and asked to speak with a manager. I did not say why I wanted to do so. But I was quickly told no manager works on a Saturday. REALLY? So if you enjoy being intimidated and harrased by a Sam’s Club employee, by all means shop at this store in Durham. I will no longer spend my money there as there is a Costco a few miles away. I would think the Sam Walton family would hire better employees.

Absolutely worst customer experience. We bought a TV from Sam’s club online but the TV arrived cracked via Fedex delivery. We exam the tv by opening the box upon arrival and everything seems fine. However, when we hung the TV on the wall and power on, we notice a thin line on the screen and notice a crack within inside the screen. We call the customer service to request a replacement and called the local Sam’s to ask if we can get it replace in the store. They said ya just bring the tv here and we will. When we arrived, they were very rude and keep saying if the in store price is different we have to pay addition to get it replace. Then, a store manager came and said because the tv is crack we can’t neither replace it or return it here. She said it in a very rude way. After we told them our phone conversation prior to our arrival and also mention the store 90 days 100% satisfaction return policy which seems very ironic now, she insist we have to bring our tv back. She was absolutely awful and doesn’t respect her customer and not responsible. We just want to share our experience to make people be aware so they don’t have the bad experience and waste time like us.

Warehouse clubs are a GREAT way to save money, I prefer shopping at Costco, but Sam’s is SO much closer, so we go. I don’t have any actual complaints, other than Costco having a selection, which I prefer. Honestly, my wife and I have membership at both, and we’re perfectly happy with them.

First off, let me say that you need a membership card to go(and you have to use it again to check out) so, if you are like me and seem to misplace everything… it could potentially turn into a stressful trip! Good news: If you forget /misplace your card, you can go to the membership counter and they will get you a pass. Overall this location is pretty good. The parking is nice since there are no other stores sharing the lot. They have an attached gas station for members to use but I must say… it is hit or miss with being the«best price in town.» I typically go here to buy freezer good and food we need in bulk. The prices seem to be competitive for most of the bulk items. Also, if you like to browse, sometimes you can find a hidden gem in the books, clothes and holiday sections. My husband loves when we have to stop in because they have a super cheap snack bar. He can get a hotdog and drink for around $ 1.50 or a huge slice of pizza. This is a big plus so I can browse longer!

Seeing as how I load up on fruits and veggies from here almost weekly, I suppose this Sam’s Club is a good candidate for my first non-restaurant review. Of course, you’re out of luck if you don’t have a membership, which runs something like $ 45 a year maybe(you get 1 extra card per membership for a family member and I coaxed mine out of my mom). The price should justify itself if you don’t mind a bit of bulk shopping, but you need a good sense of market value for the items on your list. Many things can be cheaper, pound for pound, when they go on sale at your grocery store. My go-to items are baby spinach and broccoli florets, which tend to be way cheaper than you’ll find anywhere, even on sale. They also have tons of free food samples on weekends, which can turn into a mini-meal if you try it all. One recent glorious day, they sampled all of their fresh baked pies, and naturally, I tried about 5 of them. Amazing. and for less than $ 6, I took home the biggest pumpkin pie I’ve ever seen. Their café has your basic pizza and hot dogs, and I usually can’t resist getting their pizza combo for like $ 2.49, which comes with a gimongous slice of your choice of pizza(including supreme or meat lovers) plus a 7-eleven sized fountain drink with unlimited refills. Generously sized, generously topped, and very tasty, it’ll stand against any of the local pizza joint lunch deals. One day, I plan to take down an entire pizza on my own(for less than $ 9), but on a normal non-gluttonous day, 2 slices will tide over even my giant appetite. They occasionally have open days to the public. If you find yourself spending loads on groceries every week for the family, you may want to check out Sam’s club(or any of the whole sale places in town) next time.
