Okay, employing my Unilocal Sliding Scale here. Considering this resto is located on the Medical Center campus, it is heaven in comparison to the North & South cafeterias.
Get in from 11am to 12pm and it’s buy one get one ½ off (regular price is $ 10/​person). So go w/​a friend or an even number and split the bill.
It’s a nice set-​up, moderately attentive wait service (yes, WAIT SERVICE!!), buffet style, and a good selection of salads & hot foods. The food style is southern (think oily & salty), but the salads, fresh pineapple/​cantaloupe/​honeydew melon, and a few hot dishes are fairly healthy.
Will this place survive outside of Duke Medical Center? Probably not. But once a week, it makes my day. Pace yourself, it is a buffet.
