If you’re looking for pristine, brand new, go downtown. This is a nice, comfortable, well-run complex adjacent to The Duke Forest, and pets are allowed. There is even a fenced ‘bark park’. Close to nature, a pool and fitness center, plenty of parking. Manager is new this year and really cares. I The Forest!

We stayed at the Forest Apartments for longer than a month. Our daughter was having cancer treatment at Duke hospital. There is a bus service from the apartments to Duke. Bus number 6. The staff at the apartments could not have been better. I would stay here again.

Jessica was professional and showed me an apartment and answered my questions. She was helpful. The apartments seemed clean with several options(a porch, fireplace or bay window, with the upgraded ones had ceiling fans.) There are tennis courts, a pool and a small workout room. Washer and dryers are not provided, therefore there is a central laundry facility. The units were carpeted with vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom sink was open to the room(only the toilet and shower were enclosed.) There were no ceiling fans. One of the closets was also open to the room. Prices really varied based on availability and move in date. One week could make a $ 50 difference in monthly rent. They also required a $ 50 application fee, $ 100 administration fee, but only $ 100 deposit. They were also located conveniently close to Duke university and the Data bus line stop.
