Waffle House

This review is for the new Waffle House on 55. I’ve been there at least 10 – 15 times during the day now and the service is without a doubt the worst. The food has always been good, though, so no complaints there. But when I sit at the bar for 20 minutes with no one even looking at me, something is wrong. There were two open tables that day, so they were not slammed. AND there were at least 8 people behind the counter.
Went there with my Dad the other night (late — came from the ER — around 2:45am) and I will NEVER go back there again. The service was basically non-​existent. The guy that «served» us didn’t even come over for 10 minutes and we were the only ones in there (until a very loud, and obnoxious group of drunk 20-something’s stumbled in). When we went to pay, he walked away from the register and told (whom I assume was the manager) to add up our bill. When she told him to do it, he said he had to call an order. He walked to the other side and stood there not saying a word. It took her another 6 minutes to even begin to add up TWO orders so we could pay and leave.
Now, I love Waffle House for their food. But if you are looking for friendly, fast service without attitude, just go to the Waffle House on 54 by Fayetteville Road. Those guys are awesome!

The customer service at the waffle house is horrible, slow, extremely slow, super ghetto employees and very rude. This may be a new facility, but the same old employees. The watched me sit down did offer me a drink or coffee, I continued to sit for 20 mins and no fork or spoon was placed on my table or anything. I had to raise my hand to place my order. Finally the older lady in the building slow walked over to me and asked what I wanted. She brought over my orange juice and nerver returned. I got here at 8am and its 825am and no food has hit my table. Its freezing outside 28degrees to be exact. And it feels like 19 degrees in here. I finally have food and it’s 839 t
here was five people in here when I got here. I watched a gentleman get served before me. And I watched him come in. This place is ridiculous some one needs to monitor these employees here this a dam play house not a waffle house. Who is in charge of this new dump. He or she should be ashamed of themselves for letting this go on. 40 minute ticket times unheard of. John Taffer please come fix this place or shut it down. Im putting my jacket on to eat know. Attended the new one over the weekend and The service was fantastic! The food was not good. Waffle was half cooked, grits were not hot and the coffee was cold. Even when I returned it to the kitchen and it still did not improve. I love waffle house so I will continue to go to another location. I think the cooks need more training

This Waffle House is closed! However there is a great NEW location right up the same HWY 55 near the Marathon gas station.

Not really a fan. The staff was nice but a bit all over the place. The food tastes like the usual fast food pre made stuff.

I really enjoyed this little diner. The atmosphere of how the waitresses semi-​shout the orders to the chef really gives it a traditional southern diner feel. The waffles are very fluffy and hash browns are fresh and tasty.

I travel around the country a lot for work. And I’ve been through many other waffle houses, I do have to say, I think this one is the best. Its clean and i like the staff.

Horrible! The bacon look tortured and the meat (sausage) didn’t taste right. The service was friendly but there seemed to be some animosity between the coworkers. Thus making it a little uncomfortable to sit and eat. This place is my favorite to go and eat but I won’t be returning to this one anytime soon.

Not a fan. Didn’t make another trip to a waffle house while we were living in the south.

The Waffle House is what it is. I will rate this place lower than 5 stars. This is the place my wife and I met almost 20 years ago.

I wish I could rate a 0. Worst place I’ve ever been to. I’d rather eat out of a dumpster (it would probably be cleaner). Came in the afternoon when there were only 5 tables of people. Still, the one waitress stood at the counter the whole time, was rude, didn’t take one table’s drink orders, and didn’t give us our checks. 3 tables had to stand and wait for the cook to get our tickets and ring us up. The place was filthy. When the cook handed me the check, I noticed his nails were long and dirty. There was trash and grime all over the kitchen. The table was sticky and there was trash left on it too. The food was just gross. Eggs were barely cooked, toast was soggy, waffle tasted over-​processed and undercooked, steak was fatty and greasy and overcooked, hashbrowns were greasy and flavorless, sausage was overcooked and dry. My fiancé and I both felt nauseous after we left. Avoid this place.

The head cook tells the other cook make sure you wash your hands. I sit down… the placemate still had syrup on it. Tried the hashbrowns… crispy from the outside… but had a weird taste. The eggs… not sure if they were eggs… left them on my plate. The waffles… aok but not the best. Charming… friendly service if you like feeling you are in the boondocks… if the food was actually good it might be worth while but unfortunely and I love grease pits this place just doesn’t do the trick.

As waffle houses go this one is on point.
