Great place for strolling with my baby and dog. I like the fact that it’s paved and that it has many entry points. However there are no trash cans so some people leave their trash behind.

Love it! My husband and I are utterly smitten with this trail. It is convenient to his family home, which we visit when we are in the US. We are able to set mileage marks for each day to walk/run. It is relatively flat, clean, not too crowded most days. We love that it is. 18 miles and plan to do the whole distance one or two times before we depart. I have always wanted to have such a trail convenient to my home. I would be able to get out and run so much more easily. Each half mile is marked off, there are several parking lots along the way, and there are some nice views as well. Also, there are benches to sit if you need a rest. One drawback, which keeps me from giving a 5 stars, is that there are no toilets along the way and it isn’t wooded enough to discretely use mother nature’s toilet. This is rough if you set a goal for the day of say 10 miles and then 3 miles into it realize that you seriously need to pee. America needs more rail trails like this to encourage people to get out and stay active.

It’s like a deserted road with no bathrooms around!!! only at the beginning and end. Did they ever think people might have to go along the way!!!

Glad to see my hometown finally offer a public place for physical activity! I biked out here this morning with my mother and was delighted to see the rail trail swimming with people. Leisurely walkers, joggers, bikers for exercise, bikers for leisure, roller skaters all came out to play on a Sunday morning. I believe the trail is now 8 miles, with the absolute intention of extending the trail north towards Poughkeepsie. I eagerly await its extension for a more appreciable, longer bike ride. I give three stars because of its current shortness, and lack of parking. This trail has been under construction for how long now? 4 years to my knowledge. The slowness of progress troubles me. But for such a scenic place to live, I applaud the continuation of and commitment to the rail trail.
