Duvall Advanced Family Eyecare

Very thorough and organized. Everything went so smoothly I was impressed. First I saw ashley, who ran some tests on me, then a minute later dr Hansen came in, and right after that another gentlemen came and helped me with my prescription. No long wait for no reason, my appointment started on time, no lingering to wait on billing or anything after. I highly recommend them!

I have hit the age where my eyes are in «double jeopardy» i.e. I have needed glasses/​contacts for near sightedness for 30+ years and now with contacts need reading help. With glasses no big deal, I just look under or take them off. With contacts, not so good, reading glasses required. Solution, bifocal contacts. My first run at that not so satisfactory. But then I switched to Duvall Advanced and the exam is more complete and Dr. Grimm put me in contacts that actually work for everything. Bifocal contacts are tricky and I am glad to have a solution.
The office is well run and they have good online scheduling system. They do a good job with glasses too and provide great service on service and maintenance. It is worth my drive from Redmond Ridge.

This office is awesome to work with we went there for a second opinion for my daughters eye exam and they we so thorough in the exam and explaining everything to me they did awesome with my daughter who is 6 all the staff is very friendly I have gone for my eye exams here as well and they have been nothing but amazing.

I really enjoyed my exam and glasses selection and fitting at Duvall Advanced Family Eyecare. It was what I come to expect in our small town by caring merchants. My family and I will be sure to come back for our annual exams and glasses.

The whole team is great. The Dr. always gets my prescription correct. Plenty of glasses to choose from. If I ever move I will still return to Duvall for my eye exams.

Absolutely stay away as far away from these con artists as you can.
1) I was told by their front office that my insurance would cover the entire bill. Turns out because of what they billed my insurance would only pay approximately half of the total. (Was told by the insurance company they would have covered the entire bill at Costco.)
2) They don’t let you out of your appointment with the doctor without you being handed to their optician. The doctor won’t even hand you your prescription. He introduces the optician as his ‘associate’ and hands the prescription to him. You have no choice but to be led to their overpriced shop.
3) After charging me $ 100 for lenses (plus $ 200 for frames in the past), I discovered that my prescription is nothing other than a ‘reader’ +1.25. I can buy a 3-​pack of these at Costco for $ 19.99!
4) I was billed $ 144.00 for a ‘comprehensive’ eye exam and another $ 99.00 for ‘Refraction’ (guess that exam wasn’t very ‘comprehensive’ after all). A total of $ 243.00 for an eye exam. By contrast, Costco charges $ 75.00 for this same service.
5) When I called the front office querying the bill they informed me that they charge «an additional $ 100.00 to bill the insurance company.» Uh, well, if you indeed do that then why didn’t you tell me up front and I happily would have paid in advance? «We can’t do that. If you have insurance we have to bill it.»
Run, don’t walk. Caveat emptor!

The Doctors here are very experienced and have the highest technology equipment. Everyone is friendly and professional. Dr. S. Grimm works very gently with everyone, and extra patiently with children.

Heard some great things about this place so when I was in the need for new glasses I decided to check it out. Having already visited several other places and not finding a single pair worthy of taking off the rack and at least trying on. THEY had several… actually found it hard to make up my mind. Great prices, quick turn around and friendly staff! I will definitely be back!

Jeff is really the reason I keep going to this business even after I moved from the townhome’s (literally above their store front) to Lake Stevens. I still work in Redmond so it’s not too far out of my way but still… if it weren’t for Jeff I would really consider changing eye dr’s.
He’s the optician tech (or whatever you call it) and he’s amazing.
He takes the time to work with your insurance (getting the best bang for your buck) matches what 1−800-Contacts wanted to charge me for contacts, sends my products to my home for no additional charge AND gave me 3 months worth of ‘trials’ since I was between insurance.
The eye Dr’s are very gentle, calm and take the time to do things right so that’s just icing in the cake if you ask me.

A friend recommended DAFE. My husband went and was impressed, so I scheduled an exam. Everyone was professional and friendly and the exam was more thorough than others I’ve had. Last weekend I scratched my eye and had to leave a message on a sunday. Dr Grimm returned my call within 5 minutes, and called in a prescription as she was headed out of town. She checked in with me at precisely the times she told me she would — on her days off. I would (and already have) highly recommend them.
