I was on a mission to repair my television, one damaged by a lightning strike to the house. After pulling apart the case I could see it was only a fuse, so I stopped in to the location inside the Brunswick Square Mall. The guy behind the counter helped me find the right fuse – even coached me on why I should choose a fast-​acting fuse versus a slower one – and had me out of there in no time.
Radio Shack does appeal to people who are handy – or try to be – though they have been branching out to provide more consumer-​friendly pre-​packaged items that require little technical knowledge. That’s good because there is still a place in this smartphone world for a place that services people who enjoy tinkering.
