Bar options are great! Extensive wine list and drink menu. Had steak and crab. Fillet tip potions were huge but crab cake was disappointing… no one in our party ate Italian but portions looked huge. Waitstaff average.

Such a great experience here! Dinner was great. I came with my family of 4. We had the rice balls for an appetizer, the French onion soup as a middle course and we all got burgers for dinner. The food was excellent and my burger was cooked medium like I asked(that’s a big deal for me because most of the time burgers come out well done regardless). The best part of the experience was our waitress Flo. She was always there when we needed something, and timed out our meal perfectly. She actually engaged us in conversation instead of just giving us regular waitress service. I would 100% recommend you try this place out & ask for Flo!

Im Very impressed by the 1800’s style of this restaurant. Most would call it dated but i’d like to say its like something out of the Dirty Dancing movie, with a country club/ski lodge type setting. It was sectioned off by a few dining rooms, and in the back was a catering/banquet hall. Each room had its own character, gorgeously laid out. The music playing through the stereo was an Italian Classical guitar and violin serenade. The Huge dining area was adorned with a wooden fireplace, with ample amounts of stacked logs, pictures on the walls, a Toboggan & two little book shelves. The Mantle above the fire place was filled with holiday decorations, and one of which was a basket of orb shaped ornaments that the waitress insisted on removing and rearranging quite noisily. Then she moved on to a musical Santa. The stereo went dead silent at the same time as she proceeded to wind and crank with such persistence on this poor Santa. I giggled to myself while watching her as she wound with such force and anger. The music coming thru this little Santa echoed throughout the entire dining room. We had the Baked crab and Spinach Au Gratin, and Shrimp Cocktail appetizer. Also a few signature drinks from the fully stocked bar. For my entrée I ordered the Surf and Turf with lobster tail and filet mignon, a baked potato and green beans, and my friend ordered the Bistro Steak Medallions The food was all made to perfection, and although on the high end price scale, you are definitely getting what you pay for and the prices are very reasonable for the quality.

OK, I’ve eaten here several times over last few years. Atmosphere is a little dated but clean. A little to quiet for me, almost like everyones wispering. Food has always been good to great, especially the steaks. Yes perfect med rare rib eye. Probably most consistent in area. Service usually OK, the younger waitress es much more attentive. Being from Philly area I know a good restaurant, I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We stopped here for dinner last week while on vacation in the area, and every aspect of the visit was spot on. We were greeted and seated immediately, the waitress was very pleasant, and her sense of timing was perfect. The food was excellent, from the perfect Caesar salad through the lasagna and meatballs that I had. The sauce was delicious, the meatballs made fresh, and the lasagna left absolutely no room for dessert. They are a little more pricey than the other options in the area, but the food was head and shoulders above the others we tried. We will absolutely return when we’re in the area again.

Last night my husband, two of his classmates and I dined at The Big A Grillhouse. We had a lovely meal in a well cared for facility with excellent staff. Our server, Flo, was engaging, attentive, playful, fun and a real treat to be seated at her table. My husband ordered the 12oz Prime Rib and I ordered the Angus burger. The prime rib was perfect. It was served with both au jus and horseradish sauce and it was so very well seasoned. I enjoyed my perfectly cooked burger and Flo was cheerfully accommodating to replace my fries with fresh crisp green beans and carrots. It was a little pricey compared to other local establishments but for me the expense was worth it as the food was delicious, the restaurant well cared for, and the staff on point. So pleased to have tried this gem of the Poconos out !!

I hate to lower the score on this place but it has been going downhill for awhile now. This used to be the place to go for a great steak, but alas no more. Had to send it back three times before we gave up and had them take it off the bill. The other meals were not up to par and they raised their prices on everything and made everything smaller. The owner never came to the table to see what was going on and left the poor waitress to apologize for the horrible meal. Thank God he has the tourists to cater too or this place would be closed. It’s a real shame when a great place circles the drain.

Apparently this place has been here since the early 80s, and I’m not sure how they’ve been in business so long. The food is great, don’t get me wrong. The meatballs and sauce were spectacular, and the soup was very fresh, made earlier in the day. The only problem is that an average portion of penne with sauce and 3 meatballs was around $ 26. That is outrageous. If you can afford to spend that much then feel free because the food is delicious. The beer was fairly cheep which struck me as odd sonce the food was so expensive. But hey, if expensive food is what you love, then this place is for you.

This place was interesting. I feel like it might not have been meant to be a restaurant originally — it’s really large and spacious, probably good for big events like weddings or parties. It has a little lake/pond thing out front, and looks more like it was originally a country club or something. We ordered the baby back ribs and penne marinara with meatballs as our entrees. The sauce on the ribs tasted good, but the meat was far from fall-off-the-bone. The ribs came with a side of steamed veggies and a baked potato. They were… average. The meatballs weren’t bad, the sauce on the penne was again, average. Howeverrrr, the sausage stuffed mushroom appetizer was amazinggg and, I would even say, redeeming. Probably safe to say that if I ever come back to this place, I would just get like 10 orders of that in place of an entrée :) In regard to the service, it was great — our server was really friendly and attentive. Despite the mostly average food, I did enjoy my experience here.

Bushkill Falls Staple! Good service. Friendly staff & good food. I have been going to this restaurant with my family for at least 15 years. We go a few times a year. We live in NY and frequently come to this area. A great family restaurant. Date night good.

OK guys this place is set up beautifully. Spacious and has many different rooms for eating. Parking lot up front happy faces greet you at the door and you are seated immediately. We had the special $ 29.99, which you can get from Sun thru Thurs between the hours of 3pm to 6pm. A soup or salad and entrée and ice cream. I had the Cesar Salad and that was spot on. 1st Negative… We were a group of about 25 people and we took up 3 different tables but the waitress name Flo said we could NOT have seperarte bills due to the flow. of food coming out at different times. Hhmmm… ok whatever… 2nd…2 of us ordered the Rib Eye«Medium» done and only other 2 choices were Medium Well or Well. Unfortunately our steaks came out well done border line burnt… Hmmm missed that as one of the options. As a «STEAKCARNIVORE» its the details that matter. Epic fail for me not to mention, I have had better steak from places like LongHorn and Outbacks… The syeak was just good, in other words I was not WOWed at all. Maybe that’s just the kinda of steak they lay out for their specials, either way I really was expecting to be WOWed. 3rd after eating all our plates sat on our tables for at least 20 mins before someone came and removed them. Personally that drives me bananas. After I eat I would like to see the plates removed off so that there’s no delay in ordering our desserts. Now was that an oversight of our nice spoken waitress Flo or an oversight on how the manager runs his staff. You figure. Anyway, would I come back another day… Yea I would but now I know what to expect. Hope you guys have a better experience. Unilocal away Unilocalers…

The scenery around this restaurant is beautiful and the space is quite large. My boyfriend and I ate a late lunch at around 3PM. Since it was an off time, the restaurant was rather quiet. There were some people at the bar and two other tables came in after us. We ordered the calamari appetizer, french onion soup, and shared a grilled chicken entrée. The calamari was great. I really enjoyed the two sauces: garlic and marinara. My boyfriend even asked our waiter if the restaurant sold the garlic sauce because he wanted to purchase some to bring back to New York. :P Apparently it’s a secret recipe, so he left disappointed. :(The cheese was plentiful in the french onion soup. The grilled chicken entrée was a decent sized portion. It came with two pieces of chicken. We opted for the sweet potato fries and vegetables. I don’t remember how much the bill came to, but it was reasonably priced. Overall, I would definitely come back here for lunch or dinner.

My family and I were starving and chose this place because it was the first place we saw. Now, you would think that we would give rave reviews because we were so hungry and anything would have tasted good… right? Wrong! Our server was HORRIBLE, she was completely inattentive. We had to ask the servers from surrounding tables for help. My husband and I shared a seafood platter for an appetizer which was okay, my daughter had penne with marinara and meatballs(which tasted frozen), her friend had penne vodka which she said was okay, I had a V-E-R-Y greasy shrimp & scallop scampi with linguini and had to beg for Parmesan cheese, my husband had a simple grilled salmon(to be safe). And the only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because the only thing that was genuinely delicious was the French onion soup. We wont be back.

We were hungry after a long day of traveling and decided to go here. Its a really nice place and wish I could have done the mystery murder dinner Our waiter was very attentive and we got eggplant parm, fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, grilled salmon and grilled tilapia. Everything was very good. Plus the never ending iced tea were awesome too. Would visit again if in the area

Hungry from a long hike at Bushkill Falls, 4 of us pulled into Big A. Even though the number of Unilocal reviews were lacking, but the stars looked good so I took a leap of faith. I had my doubts at first when we first entered as it smelled like a nursing home. I think the root cause here is the carpet. The smile on our server soon lifted our spirits and the food started coming out, which took our words away as we set in silence enjoying all the yumminess. Hands down the best chicken caesar salad I’ve ever had. The romans fresh and clean, the chicken cooked perfectly tender, and the dressing stole the show. Even the chicken and rice soup was delicious. Bottom Line: If you are in the area as a resident or as a visitor, Big A has what you need when it comes to good food and good service.

Hughe Caesar salad. The waitress is a trip. The wine is delicious. Really liked the atmosphere of the place. The sunset was beautiful and the manicotti was huge. Had to get a spoon to eat the manicotti sauce. The salad was big enough for 2 people to share and hate to think of what a family style salad is. We sAw a kitty on a leash after dinner. The prices were reasonable too. We had no leftovers but it came pretty close. They start you out with delicious bread. If I were in the area I would come back.
