Darque Tan

You cannot choose the length of time you want to spend in their beds! They choose the amount of time for you! I have been going to Darque Tan for years and had nothing but good experiences until they hired a new manager at the Town Centre Drive location who will not allow you to go in the beds for the max time or anything close to it!!! I complained to corporate and they backed her up. I’ve been tanning for 25 years and I’ve never experienced this treatment before! The manager will only allow you to go in the bed for 8 or 9 minutes even though you have been there several times and you have your base tan! I have never complained to a business before and I’m disgusted they did not stand by their customer! Sad!

DO NOT GET A SPRAY TAN HERE!!! YOU WILL LOOK DIRTY AND GROSS!
I went to Darque Tan for the first time after seeing they had a «Free Tan Friday» special. I was in need of a spray tan, so I decided to try out Darque Tan.
When I arrived, the Mystic spray tan machine was broken and the employee was trying to fix it. There were two of us waiting to get a spray tan, and the poor employee seemed so nervous as she attempted to figure out how to get the machine working again.
After a few minutes, she told the girl ahead of me that she «thinks the machine is working,» and sends her back to use the machine. The girl came out tan, but hesitant (it was her first spray tan so she wasn’t really sure how the machine is supposed to work), so I was worried, but after waiting for 20 minutes already, I figured I wasn’t going to waste my trip and not get a spray tan.
When it was my turn to tan, I got into the machine, and noticed right away how old and dilapidated the machine was. I am almost certain they are not using genuine Mystic solution in the machine. Also, you can’t hear the machine «robot voice» instructions for when to turn and change poses, so it would be almost impossible for a new spray tanner to have a good tanning experience here. When I got out, I had huge drips of brown spray tan solution all over my body. I have been spray tanning (VersaSpa) several times a month for the past 2 years, so I know that a good spray tan booth should not cause awful brown drippy streaks all over my body.
As soon as I got home, I scrubbed as much of the tan off of my body and face as I could, but I still look dirty and gross. DO NOT SPRAY TAN AT DARQUE TAN!!!
I felt really bad for the girl working there, she was clearly overwhelmed and wasn’t trained very well… and the fact that she said she had never gotten a spray tan is not a good thing for a tanning salon employee, because when someone asks how the color turns out or how it works, she can’t speak from personal experience, and it also makes it seem like Darque Tan has inferior products if even she doesn’t want to use it! She also mentioned that a Mystic Tan machine another nearby Darque location also was broken, which also adds to the inferior product theory! If Darque plans on offering another «Free Tan Friday,» they should be smart and have more than one employee on staff for the closing shift, especially one that actually knows what they are doing.
I have not tried the VersaSpa at Darque (my spray tan machine of choice) since this Darque Tan location only had the Mystic, but I don’t think I will ever go to any Darque Tan again after my awful experience. I gave it 2 stars only because the tanning salon looks pretty nice inside, and the tanning beds looked clean when I walked by.
