We told the driver we needed to go to Golden Valley. His first question, which should have been our first clue of a problem was, «what’s the best way to get there?» We asked him if Highway 100 was closed for construction this weekend, to which he replied «No, everything is open on 100 this weekend.» So, we took 494 to Hwy 100 and what do you know? Closed. What is normally a $ 55 cab ride from the airport was $ 78. The driver should have radioed in to ask about hwy 100 if he didn’t know. We could have saved a lot of cash by taking 35W to 394.
