This restaurant is located«inside» the Holiday Inn hotel. I’m here for business and decided to eat in my room but order takeout(can’t afford room service lol) Anyway, after visiting their website and starving I ended up ordering a swiss mushroom burger that came with fries. I wish I could’ve attached a picture but I was so hungry I ate it really quick haha. The burger was delicious and the fries were fantastic! I think it was like sea salt on them. It really enhanced the flavor. The price was very reasonable. If you are in this area or staying at this hotel, give it a shot.

I’m just going to say this right off the bat: This place is completely hidden and sort of a pain in the ass to get to. I also take a slight issue with the name. It’s reminiscent of a diner to me(thus invoking visions of diner-esque food). As a result, I was pleasantly surprised to see a shitload of smoked meats on their menu when we got there. There are plenty of ‘grills’ around, but I think if their name was changed to ‘Lone Oak Smokehouse’ they’d get a lot more traffic as MN is severely lacking on that front. That being said, while our experience was a favorable one, it wasn’t without its flaws. I’ll break it down. — The first impressive thing I took note of was the fact that they have an extensive ‘à la carte’ menu for both their meats and side dishes. I ended up getting a large variety of meat and sides of 15 bucks which made me happy as fuck. — The ribs, shrimp and bacon were all amazing. When I smoke ribs at home, I tend to prefer them a little more ‘fall off the bone’ than these, but they retained a nice tenderness and a heavy smokiness that I really enjoyed. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and had a good amount of cajun spice. The bacon? Fucccckk. The fat was so perfectly rendered that it literally melted in your mouth. I could eat a whole goddamn tray of it. — The chicken, while spiced well, was definitely on the dry side. I’m a gigantic fan of chicken jerky and it was somewhat reminiscent of that(especially the thinner pieces). I’d order it again because I’m a protein hound and I don’t mind the chew, but… if you’re a fan of juicy poultry, don’t get too excited. — The green were some of the tastiest I’ve ever eaten, period. Slightly spicy, perfectly salted, *not* swimming in a tub of flavorless liquid and meaty in texture. — The mac and cheese was bland as all hell and sticky. The noodles weren’t overcooked which was nice but everything else failed. — The baked beans, while nothing particularly special, did the job. They had a nice spiciness to them but lacked the sweetness typical of the dish. The portion was very hearty for 2 bucks, though. — The cornbread(according to my mom – I’m not a fan in general and didn’t try it) was dry and dull. She knows her cornbread so I trust her opinion. I’d definitely drag my ass back here if for nothing else other than the a la carte meat selection.

The cheese curds looked too good not to try and we weren’t disappointed… they were awesome. Bloody Mary bar was well stocked, wings were good, and lots of beers to choose from. The only complaint I heard was from this kids who said their chicken strips were so-so.

Good for a late night game of darts. But good luck with the service. They are rude and slow. Food is average and takes a long time at night when there is hardly anyone there.

Nice patio in the summer time. They usually have live music outside too. Lots of options with beers and the food is reasonably priced

I was here to watch the game and have a drink after eating elsewhere. I can’t speak to the food menu, but the beer selection was exceptional and deserves recognition.

1st visit very slow service, food not warm enough and server didn’t know the menu at all. Order wasn’t correct. Very noisy. 2nd visit recently was odd. Slow service, noisy again and some waitress/manager walked by the table several times glaring at one of the men at the table. Obviously wanted him to notice her for some reason. Unprofessional, considering there was all couples at the table. If we ever stop in again? Will sit at the bar !

I’ve been about eight times over the last year. I keep trying to like it but always leave disappointed. This last visit was the final straw. I will not be back. My wife and I stopped in for a drink and an appetizer. We were stuck in a corner because we weren’t watching the game. I tried to order one of the beers on their list but it wasn’t tapped yet. Who puts a beer on the menu that you haven’t tapped yet?!(By the way, this happens often enough at Lone Oak grill that my wife and I have a running joke about it). We ordered the Pork Green Chili nachos. Terrible doesn’t even begin to describe it. It was a plate of chips covered in cheese sauce mixed with pico de gallo. That part was ok. Unfortunately, on top was a pile of mushy, bland pork that had some chopped up green chilies. If you’ve ever had real pork green chili from New Mexico/Colorado, you’d understand our disappointment. Even if you haven’t, it was awfule. We sent the first batch back thinking there must have been a mistake. The second batch confirmed that it wasn’t a mistake but just a terrible plate. They have a great beer selection and some of their food is great but the service and the constant lack of beers on the menu means I won’t be back for a long, long time.

Disappointed in this afternoon as they had a one man band playing their guitar and elevator music instead of being an actual sports bar playing the wild game. We’ve been there before and food and service was good. Maddy our waitress was awesome! We would go back but we will call first if we plan on watching a game!

Great atmosphere, service was amazing, food is phenomenal. The beer list is perfect for what this place is. Most beers are from out of town but they have plenty of local brews. Bbq is cooked to perfection. We(party of 6) ordered the ribs, pulled pork, chicken and wild rice soup, french dip, and plenty of sides. Definitely recommend the cheese curds too. Do not hesitate to come here.

I travel for living and always enjoy local places. This was excellent and I will come back, I was influenced by the positive reviews and the fact that it shared a parking lot with my hotel. I am not disappointed and would make the drive to get here if necessary. There was a local band playing… hello it’s Wednesday, awesome! I can’t wait to try more of the menu I saw going by me, all I had was the artichoke dip and a couple drinks. Don’t think, just go…

I ended up here the day it opened, happened to be staying at the Hampton that shares a parking lot, it was good then! Been a couple years since I’ve been here but it’s gotten better! Went in to watch the football game, it was a little loud for that so I had a 60⁄40 burger, one of the best I’ve had in a while! Got some wings to go because I remembered how good the dry rub wings were, they were better than I remembered. Great happy hour bar, or sit down joint. Can’t go wrong.

This covers 2 separate visits, both for dinner. This place was in the parking lot of my hotel, so it was convenient . The first visit, I was met at the hostess stand immediately, and after a long day of driving I was seated right away. I had a very attentive server, although she failed to mention what a good dish was. I had the pulled pork platter. The pork was ok, nothing great. The coleslaw and beans had a weird taste for me. I am used to Texas style Bar B Q and this was not it. The jalapeño cornbread had to much jalapeño for me. I was not going back, but need a close place on night 2. Second visit, I opted for a burger. I had the Cheddar BBQ burger and had a MUCH better dinner, Burger was great and he fries were very tasty. They offer whiskey flights which is a nice change to allow diners to try different whiskey as well.

I travel a lot for business and love to find local hotspots. This place was right next door to my hotel so I can here as I was tired after a 6 hour drive. No host at the front desk, restaurant was limpid with music and live music in the patio. Another couple came in 5 minutes after me and they were greeted instantly. As for me, well, that couple was white and I’m Asian and a single tonight so screw me. I finally got seated, and a very cute waitress said hello and asked for my drink order. I was about to thank her and she took off. Less than a minute later, she came back with my drink and asked if was ready or needed more time. I ordered the brisket plate. My food came out in 5 minutes. The brisket was dry but edible but the cornbread was awesome. My waitress came by to ask how the food looked and I commented on the cornbread and she said«great» and walked away. I didn’t see her until I pushed my plate aside. I never new her name and she never came by to ask me for another drink until after dinner. Overall experience? I was in and out in 20 minutes and that’s with a 7 minute wait at the front. As for me coming back to this place? HELLNO. There was no attempt to be engaging or welcoming or make me feel at home here. Plus, the food was marginal at best. I would have given at least 3 stars if the waitress was a little nicer to me or showed that she cared, but it seemed as if she was at the end of her shift and wanted to get the hell out of here.

This place has a great patio! The flow of the place is great and can’t wait to check it out on a Saturday night. Bean bags, arcade games, plenty of flat screens, and a great selection of beers. The food is pretty good for this type of establishment. They have a great menu variety, and will certainly be back for another visit.

Excellent outdoor and indoor dining with a fun menu of options for food and craft beer. Usually the service it pretty attentive and timely. Their buffalo nachos are outstanding and each of their Juicy Lucy options. I’d also recommend their custom mac and cheese.

This place is your typical bar and grille but a little nicer than I expected. The outside looks recently refurbished and well kept. They had a nice outdoor patio that had plenty of space. I asked for a Dr Pepper and the server said they had it but I am almost positive I just got Coke with red grenadine. I ordered the California Lucy with fries and it was very good. It was a huge burger and came with a decent amount of fries. Overall, our server was friendly and the meal was good so it was just as Unilocal describes for a 3 star: A-OK.

Excellent craft beer selection. Try the Left Handed Good Juju. Nice lunch selections and I am told their Happy Hour rocks! I had the fish tacos lunch. Grilled catfish, corn tortillas, pico de gallo, and cabbage. My dining companions had Cobb salad, chicken wrap, chili mac, brisket sammies and the Hangover Burger. All plates(except Cobb and chili Mac) came with fries or house made chips. Salad greens and fixings were crisp and fresh. All diners were happy with their choices. Particularly high marks for the Hangover Burger((which comes with a fried egg on top). Service was friendly and efficient. Our server gladly separated the checks. Prices are reasonable. Indoor and patio seating. A dozen big screen televisions and a well stocked comfy bar.

We stopped in to catch the Wild game after a late event over in Eagan. The place is very open, and a design I like, but, I kind of don’t. It’s open, which is great. But, it was also terribly loud because there is nothing breaking up the noise from the drunks yelling at each other at the bar(maybe 5 or so of them, place was pretty empty when we were there). Good with the bad kind of situation I suppose. Get seated and ask for the game to be turned on, and the staff was happy to oblige our request. I ordered their signature item, the Lone Oak Steak sandwich. Essentially a cross of a Philly Cheesesteak and a french dip. The woman builds herself a dead animal pizza topped with all the meats the place has. I thought about curds, but, at 8.30ish, not my favorite time to indulge in something of the nature. Very short wait and the chow comes out. The sandwich was falling apart with all the peppers, onions and shrooms just oozing out of it. Fries were a very nice seasoned type. The steak… apparently, there was steak on this thing. I was very disappointed in that I couldn’t taste any actual meat. I got veggies and faint cheese, but no steak. I mean, I might as well have been eating a veggie hoagie or something. And the jus was flat as hell with no flavor. After a couple dips, I didn’t bother dipping anymore to deteriorate the buns, which were fast falling apart from all the grease/cheese/water from the sandwich itself. The lady, a French Dip eating fool, looked at it and passed with no hesitation. I usually ask myself, aside from the meat being cooked too long, how do you screw up a sandwich? Well, having the core of the sandwich be totally absent in flavor is a sure fire way to screw it up. And here’s the pitch! Swing and a miss! Pizza time! Well, more like a flatbread with a bit of sauce and toppings time. It was about as dull and lifeless a pie as I’ve ever ate. The crust was thin, it was firm, I’ll give it that, but, again, utterly tasteless and did nothing but give you that flaky chew when you bite into it. Toppings were at least decent?. And by that, I don’t mean the cheese, which was, well, scant and tasteless. Are we sensing a theme yet with this? I had one piece of it and called it a day. I know you can’t screw pizza up, because it’s pizza. But, this is near the bottom rung on the pizza scale. Alright team, huddle round, time to recap. The main dishes were just stomach fillers. I could see this place being far better suited for apps and HH, great service, they were happy to turn on the game, and the bathroom was at least clean. Hate saying it, because I can see they’re trying, but, I’ll pass next time we’re in Eagan and need to grab something to eat.

when I travel to Eagan Minnesota, this is one of my many stops. Lots of draft to choose from, buckoo tv’s that are set on differnt channels =). The staff is awesome especially Russell, this dude is one of the best bartendars ever! Food is of good quality and consistant with lots of happy hours. I do enjoy the duet playing in the background.
