Telle est la vie’ Sorry to see you go… One of the few places in Eagan that I enjoyed to hang out and grab coffee. Now closed.

I understand both locations are closed. Thank you for a great 4 years. I will miss the desserts the most.

Au revoir PMF. I didn’t visit very often but it was nice knowing there was a good place to get cakes and other sweets near where I live in Eagan. There just aren’t any places like this in the burbs. The option now is to get donuts at a couple places or endure the the thick soup like air of pretentiousness in nearby Kowalski. Bleh. When a joint offering things nobody else does shuts down, it is truly a loss.

Chocolate croissant is the only thing I’ve tried from here and I’ve been here a dozen times. This place is «buzzing» every time I go in, regardless of the time. The service may come off as a bit«snooty» but I don’t care… GIMMEDATCHOCOLATECROISSANT!!! Once I get that craving, there is no stopping me, wherever I am… GIMMEDATCHOCOLATECROISSANT!!!

I should start this by explaining I’m probably not a great person to judge French Cuisine. I am a fan of food though so I’m going to go off my general knowledge. This place is a large restaurant that has a Panera Bread feel to it, but obviously with more of a French Flair. You order at the counter like Panera, but then they bring you your food. The menu is different, perhaps more french. I went with the chicken sandwich. It was Ok. From a quality standpoint the bread was fresh, but oddly they choose to use a walnut/fruit bread for their chicken sandwich. The flavors didn’t compliment each other well. The chicken was overcooked and the breading on it was a bit soggy. The side of fries were good. We also had a strawberry cheesecake for dessert. It was the highlight of the meal. Very good, flavorful, fresh strawberry on top. If I only had dessert here this place would be 5 stars. Other thing I didn’t like, they only have bottled beverages(or coffee/tea). So there are no refills. For two lunches, two ice teas and one dessert it was $ 25 which I thought was fair. Just wish the sandwich would have been better.

I really want to give this place 4 or 5 stars. I like that they are not a chain, and they do a great job of offering many different options for food, and drinks. They have lots of seating, and the staff seems friendly enough. Unfortunately, I have had the quiche a few times while I am there and it just seems a little dry to me, and it is obvious that their quiche is not made there. That breaks my heart. I wish they would make it fresh everyday. Also, I feel that they are trying really hard to make good food, but they are not quite there. The other thing, is that I feel like they could offer a few more choices in coffee. I like a light roast usually, but they just offer their house blend. But the thing that really brought my review down is the bathroom. I know they share with other businesses in the building, but it smells horrible, there is toilet paper all over the floor, and the garbages are over flowing. I feel that when a bathroom is dirty, a kitchen might be dirty as well, and that the employees do not care. I think I will bring this review back up if the next few times I go there, the bathrooms are clean, but the fact that the food is just not that good will only bring it to 3 stars.

Loved this spot– great place to bring friends– the food is fresh and the pasteries are incredible — I plan to go back for sure.

Wow, I feel grumpy tonight. All of these great reviews, and if I had written this a year ago, I would have raved too. Unfortunately, the quality of PMF has really gone down. Because so many of my friends like it, I end up here about once a month. I cannot remember the last time I liked what I had. I keep trying, though. Last trip, I tried the cream of cauliflower soup. It had NO flavor and had been immersion blended until it had the consistency of sand in water. It literally tasted like dish water and it was room temp. We returned it and the girl said, «oh, is it cold? I didn’t heat it up enough.» Which means what? That it is nuked? Great. Pastries are good and if you want to stop for a coffee and pastry, it’s a-o-k. In fact, their French Iced tea with fresh berries is very good. Sandwiches – they have a few and the ham and cheese on croissant is the best of the bunch. The others aren’t good. The puff pastry with the ground beef mixture is downright inedible. I am sorry to post such bad things about the food-food rather than the desserts, but buyer beware. The fruit cups that come on the side are extra and they’re mushy. The crudite’ was just ok. The side salad is pretty good. Croissants are ok; I think the ones you bake off yourself from Trader Joe’s are better, though. Baguettes are too airy now. They used to be heavier. Wow, I guess I am grumpy tonight. I’ll be back to PMF I’m sure – probably within the month. I will say that in the great French tradition, you can have your doggies on a leash on the outside patio. That is awesome as my pup is with me whenever the weather permits.

Its locally owned and they have a drive through that opens up at 7am everyday how awesome does it get?! Well they have regular french food for breakfast lunch or dinner plus a huge selection of wines that are included in their happy hour everyday. I like to order the almond croissant with a cup of joe for breakfast and order a fruit tart to bring into work for a sweet treat for later in the day. The prices are just right so it gets tempting to spend more for desserts to bring back home. Everything is nicely displayed and the employees seem to like their jobs. One thing I love is how much space they have its sooo big! The place is also very bright because the windows are so big too. They offer free internet access to give it a real french café vibe. I’m going to keep coming back daily for my breakfast routine and highly suggest anyone to try it out def reminds me of patricks bakery but for the south metro.

I had a great burger here yesterday. A Philly-type on very good homemade-type bun and burger patty. Perfect onions, mushrooms and light sauce. The french fries were very good also, though I did not eat many. They have a very good strawberry? type sauce, which was very good and I used lots of that to enhance. I would surely return for another sandwich. Also had a good latte drink. Service was just right, and the kitchen area was exposed so customer could watch the prep, and I like that. Friendly staff throughout. Thanks folks. Well done.

The more I go here, the more I fall in love… PMF woos me with their quiches, their french onion soup(which I now get all by itself, since I love it so), and their delicious litte bakery treats. I took my out-of-town family here, and they loved it too! We went back during their two day stay, since they loved it so much. This place just rocks. Their sandwiches are consistently good. Unlike some of the reviews say, I’m pretty sure they’re not pre-made. The ones in the showcase are just that: show. They make them in the back. If you go in during the afternoon on a weekday(before 2 pm), you can get a half sandwich and a side on the cheap($ 5 – 6). They also have a drivethru, but it’s a little underdeveloped… as in they don’t really staff it that well. Not like I care. Part of what I love about this place is the atmosphere, so I go in anyway :-) Get their shortbread cookies… your tastebuds will die happy.

If I lived closer to Eagan, this would be my go-to place for soups, salads & sandwiches. I had an excellent prosciutto sandwich that came with a side salad. The sandwich was great, the portion was perfect & the price was just over $ 7. They just opened a new location on the first floor outside of Nordstrom at Mall of America. Talk about prime real estate! Looking forward to trying some baked goods or a dessert next time I’m there.

I was fortunate to be able to try this café because my friend had a living social certificate. This café is very modern, spacious with a fireplace in the middle, and has a really nice looking wine bar at one end. For a minute I almost forgot I was in Eagan in a strip mall next to a comic store and thought I was downtown in a trendy urban area. What we ordered for three people: Hummus special plate-Hummus with toasted Baguette A Ham and Cheese croissant A sausage mini quiche French Onion Soup Greek Olive Appetizer with Baguettes Two truffles(a praline and dark) A raspberry Macaroon Meringue cookies The Hummus plate, truffles, and meringue cookies won the blue rinbbons here. It was some of the best hummus I have ever had. The Ham and Cheese Croissant was nothing special and hardly had any ham in it. The french onion soup base was pretty good but the it was barely luke warm and the cheesy bread slice on top was hard. I could tell by looking at our soups they were not going to be hot enough. I think the staff should have been intuitive enough to know this as well. The sausage quiche was OK(I personally did not taste that) but I wonder how«homemade» it was. Their sandwiches and quiche all are premade. The Greek Olive appetizer was nothing special, just a cup of olives with some bread. The truffles were tasty. I usually do not like meringue cookies but these were the size of a chipotle burrito and were really good. I probably will never come back here because its too far out in the boonies for my taste but if I lived in Eagan, I would probably hang out, drink coffee or wine, while working or surfing the net, and eat a football size meringue cookie.

Very pleasantly surprised! Lots of comfy seating, inviting atmosphere, great food — reasonably priced in my opinion. Starting with the Proscuitto Deja Vu Sandwich, the poppy seed baguette was one of the best I’ve ever had on a sandwich. The Crudite we chose with the sandwich was lightly dressed beets and carrots, very fresh and tasty. The Hummus special was out of this world de-lish, also served with some very fresh baguette slices. We also chose the mushroom quiche and the spinach feta, both very flavorful. We topped off our afternoon of lingering with a latte(good but not great) and the Apple Tart. This tart was topped off with a small vanilla flan, the perfect end to a wonderful lunch for two.

I don’t know about this place guys. I came here twice because I had Living Social Deals. If I did not have a second Deal to burn through I would have never came here a second time. First Experience was terrible. This would have been the worst bakery in the state I have gone to if you were to ask me. I ordered a couple sandwiches the first time around with some pastries and a baguette. The sandwiches were lacking and were unimpressive. They could not bear to put enough lettuce on my sandwich or tomato’s big enough to make it look like they even tried to satisfy me. The pastries were okay, but definitely do not make my list of recommendation. The baguette was pathetic. I came here around three O’clock on a Friday, not late at night, keep that in mind. I noticed the bread was not as soft as it should be, but I wanted to give it a try. I should have just put it back because the next day it went in the garbage because it was hard as a rock. The baguettes I buy from anywhere else stay soft for at least a couple days. How old was their bread to begin with?! Now the second time was better. I ordered sandwiches again because I really did not want to buy their pasties. I avoided the baguette and opted for the Walnut Bacon Loaf. Everything this time around was a lot better. They put a little more effort into the sandwiches and I really loved the loaf and this time it stayed soft. I can’t say I will be back though because I know how bad they can be.

Okay, so here’s the thing: It’s a French restaurant. In Eagan. It’s not old. It’s not stereotypically French(which I like). I like the ultra modern vibe with brown woven chairs(wicker?), with the soft green cushions. There are plenty of couches and chairs to snuggle up in. I feel like this is how an actual modern day French place would look. It has some French-esque features to it, but not overwhelming like Mpls and STP restaurants. They have a cozy fireplace and there was a group of older women playing the real mahjong, which to me, is impressive. They have a massive wine bar. Also, there is a computer for use if you don’t have your own. The thing that I like about this place is that they have a patio to sit in the summer. They very much welcome your dog there with water bowls and everything. When I was there in the summer, I had bruschetta; it was nummy. The New Age wine was delicious, especially for people who don’t like wine. This time I got the mozzarella and tomato sandwich. They serve it hot and it was amazingness. I also got a chocolate chip cookie. It was surprisingly good. The manager who works there has so much energy and suggested great wine and food for us. I always like it here because they show you what everything looks like before you buy it and they have different daily specials everyday.

I would jump at the chance to tell you what a wonderful place PMF is. But, that isn’t possible. We arrived just after 6 pm on Mother’s Day stoked to enjoy dinner with our family. Other than pastries, they were out of nearly every menu item but soup and 1 entrée. We left, famished & disappointed. My 10-yr old niece said it best — how can a restaurant not have any food???

Pardon My French is a surprise of a place in a strip mall in Eagan. It is very spacious inside but I found the atmosphere to be sterile and sparse. I think they should cozy it up a bit — also a friend of mine has tried to go there with her laptop to do some work while having coffee and has noticed a definite lack of electrical outlets. I have«take away» desserts from here many times and they are always decadent and amazing! This is going to be my go to place for stopping and picking up desserts for a party for sure. Some friends and I went last night for wine and dinner. The happy hour goes to 6 and the prices ranging for $ 2 — 4 for a glass of wine are great. After that the prices get to be more in the average to high range for the Twin Cities($ 6 — $ 9 for a glass of wine). We had originally planned to have dinner there but the menu of mostly cold sandwiches just wasn’t what we wanted that evening so we went elsewhere. Nothing against the menu itself, it just wasn’t what we were in the mood for. We will be enjoying more wine and dessert at Pardon My French for sure!

Yea! Dessert heaven has arrived in Eagan! I am so disappointed I did not find this delightful French café and bakery in Eagan sooner. With family connections to Patrick’s French Bakery, the owner of Pardon My French has scored big with a very similar menu and some superb variations. The individual desserts such as the Mousseline(almond flavored sponge cake with layers of vanilla cream, coated in white chocolate and strawberries) and the Classic Opera cake are unbelievably good. The danishes are sweet and buttery with delicious fillings/toppings of custards and fruits. The white mocha is light and rich at the same time. The café is large and has many window seats, large tables for gatherings, and couches for a good afternoon read. Service is friendly and helpful in making selections. Sandwiches and salads also look great, though I haven’t tried any yet. There is also a wine bar at one end of the restaurant. Parking is ample and the location is easy to find just a mile east of 35E on Cliff Road. This is my new favorite spot — I can’t wait to go back!

I had the best lunch today at PMF. It’s causing me to update my review for a 3rd time. If you’re still debating about whether to go here or not, just please go! I chose the«Duo of Cheeses w/Salad.» Basically that’s 2 warm buttery, pastry things, one filled with blue cheese and the other filled with brie. These were sooooooo good. The salad that accompanied the pastries was excellent too. A hearty portion of fresh field green with lots of craisins, pecans, and raspberry vinaigrette. I highly recommend this option for a filling yet light lunch. You may even have room for one of their sinful desserts.
