Its a hit and miss with this restaurant. I’ve had some bad experiences and good ones. It really depends on the service you get from your waiter/tress. As far as my last visit, my steak was cooked perfectly(medium rare), but the time before I had to send it back because it was over cooked. The waitress comes back with the same steak and tells me that the chef said it was cooked right… I didnt want to get ugly with the waitress but I did ask to speak to the chef to see if he would allow me to make the steak myself so I can show him what medium rare was. Nothing was done about it I ended up getting the ugilest steak they had after everybody ate… I guess thats what I get…

Small amount of food and not worth the price. Service was not good. Food had good taste.

Los tacos de camarón son maravillosos, el mejor flan y el mejor mahi mahi. Un buen lugar para visitar en Eagle Pass.

Got there just after they opened. After the waitress took our food order, she proceeded to grab a mop and bucket and start mopping around our table. So, the entire meal we got to smell Pine Sol instead of our food. We were concerned about whether she washed her hands after mopping and before bringing us our food. My girlfriend ordered fish tacos and they were good. I ordered Pocha tacos and got quesadillas with reheated meat from last night. I’ll be stopping on the way home for a real meal.

They gave raw bacon and freezing cold seafood. They didn’t even apologize and made me pay for it. I will not go back again.

The building and décor are probably the nicest in the area, but the service and food were horrible. I reviewed the menu, asked a couple of the waiters what they thought were the best beef dishes and what cut of beef was used for their fajitas. They had no idea. One said«I really don’t know my cuts of beef.» And the other one, after going to ask in the kitchen, came back and said«They said it comes from the chest area». I decided to order a steak Ranchero type dish from the«Chef Specialties» section of the menu instead of the fajitas, because that section of the menu said that all of those dishes came with two additional sides, and I wanted a salad and mashed potatoes, which were clearly listed as side choices for all of the chef specialties. When my meal came out there was no salad or mashed potatoes. When I asked for the salad, the waitress said that’s not included. She argued at length that my one dish doesn’t include the two sides even though it’s clearly under that section of the menu.
They brought me a side salad anyway, but when I got the bill I saw they charged extra for it. I mentioned it again to the waitress and mentioned that the menu was deceptive, and her only response was that she would let the owner know. She made no attempt to get the charge taken off the bill or address it with the owner who was sitting at the bar nearby. Needless to say her tip was probably a bit smaller than she expected, possibly even by the amount of the salad charge on my bill. The steak in the steak Ranchero type dish itself was chewy and had a lot of fat. It was one of those dishes where it’s kind of like a stew and you can’t really see what’s in it,. Unfortunately restaurant sometimes take advantage of this by including a lot of fat and gristle. That’s what happened here. Finally, the container of tortillas looked like it had made the rounds to three or four different tables without being washed, had slimy fingerprints all over it, and food particles stuck to the outside of it.
I was hoping I had discovered a good local place to go eat especially in light of the other reviews, but that just was not my experience. I think I got the worst of all of the possibilities based on the other(mixed) reviews.

Always a decent meal at Parrillada de San Miguel. When you are almost 3 hours from a major metropolitan city, fine dining isn’t a choice. San Miguel’s will give you about the best food in Eagle Pass.

The décor and atmosphere were beautiful and inviting. Staff was courteous and prompt. The food was delicious and fresh. The facilities matched in décor and cleanliness was a 10⁄10. Perfect mix of modern and classic. They have a children’s enclosed play area which was nice as well. I don’t see how anyone could not easily find this to be the classiest place to eat in Eagle Pass! We will definitely be back, by far our best dining experience here.

I was in the mood to get some Mexican food, and this restaurant blew my mind. The food is amazing and the service what’s above and beyond I would totally come back. Fell in love with the ambience too.

Good food. The chicken and steaks are all well done. I’ve always been to afraid to order seafood this far inland at a small town restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent and is hands down the nicest restaurant in the area. Service is usually good. It seems like they go through periods of consistent good service and then consistent bad service. Here lately I’d say we’ve been in a long run of good service. If they are busy they stack glasses directly on top of the bar. Liquid runs from the glasses onto the bar. Makes for a sticky and disgusting mess.

Great food, I eat there all the time one to twice per week. The service does vary but the price make up for the poor service.

Food was good but when I got my bill, the waiter who was inattentive, gave himself a tip that matched out bill. Yes Unilocal friends, our bill was @$ 70 and he gave himself the same amount in tip. It took over a month to get the restaurant to reimburse us. That was our only issue. Otherwise food, drinks and atmosphere are nice.

When I visit Eagle Pass, I try to have at least one meal at Parilla De San Miguel. The menu is plentiful & offers all kinds of options. The steaks are excellent! I normally modify certain menu items & exclude certain sauces to reduce the calories & fat. The charro beans are very good, but the refried beans are too greasy for my taste. The chips served with the salsa are also too greasy & the restaurant should consider changing how the chips are prepared. Over all, Parilla De San Miguel offers a great ambience for a memorable dinner.

Wonderful meal with attentive service. I’ve had meals out from coast to coast and I have to say this was a most memorable meal. I had the Salmon and wished I could lick the plate!!! What a surprise in this border town.

Beautiful Décor! It looks like you are eating in a villa when you are inside this authentic Mexican restaurant. Now, if you read my reviews before, remember this is the town of Eagle Pass this restaurant is in. I asked for a drink menu and the waitress looked at me sideways. I said I will take two drinks whatever is popular for me and my date. The drink came it was interesting had chile spice on the rim of the drink. I asked what was in it again the server looked at me with a dumbfounded look. Now for the food, the menu is EXTENSIVE. I will be back to try some of the other items but I ordered the fire shrimp for an entrée. The menu states it is extremely spicy. It was not, also it was accompanied by a small and I mean small portion of rice. The dessert took FOREVER to come out it was churros with cameral, they were very good at least and warm. I wanted to try the Flan but they said they were out of Flan, I went at 3:00pm come on guys. I will be back as the locales are correct this is the nicest place in Eagle Pass to dine.(I just hope the rest of the food is a bit better.)

Eaten here a couple of times. The facility is beautiful and the staff friendly. The food is great and the steaks are cooked to order and flavorful. The coldest beers in Eagle Pass!

This restaurant was not the best place I’ve been to. I expected a lot more maybe to much. I was in town for business and decided to give them a try. We showed up with some business associates and none of us were impressed. The food was ok and the service was terrible. We still left a nice tip knowing these servers depend on and work on tips but we won’t be going back and that’s where they’re going to feel it. I wish they understood that a business runs on great customer service.

Here’s your split review – the food was fantastic. Really tasty… when it got there. The service was HORRIBLE. Abysmal. Our waiter, the dude with the neck tattoo, was missing for most of the over TWOFUCKINGHOURS we were there for a quick lunch. I get it – service in this area is relaxed and slower than what I expect in the big city. It’s cool, but this was on a whole other level. We stole a great waitress from another table(one of our group is a regular) so we actually got our food about an hour after we ordered. When we complained to the owner at the end if the meal, she said he was very busy with a large party. That’s it. No apologies for poor service. Nada. Avoid this place unless you have time for your ass to go numb before you eat.

A large group of family members and I went to dinner at Las Parrillas de San Miguel in Eagle Pass on April 1, 2014, no fooling. For Eagle Pass, it is a nice restaurant. The waitress was a pleasant young lady, who had good intentions. We had multiple tables pushed together to make one long table. The height of two adjoining tables was different, and consequently my wife’s $ 9.00 Margarita tipped over. The waitress was standing at our table when this happened and never brought any napkins or made any attempt to help clean up the mess. My wife ended up cleaning the mess up with the Gram Newspaper. We live in San Diego, CA, and I can say with confidence if this same scenario happened, any restaurant there would have cleaned up the table and offered a replacement drink free of charge. Not so in Eagle Pass, no offer was ever made to replace the drink, free of charge or otherwise. The food was actually pretty good. I had the Tampiqueña plate with Sirloin Steak and«Swiss» enchiladas. I have heard of Enchiladas Suisas, but never Swiss Enchiladas… They were not very good. The Sirloin Steak was quite good, very flavorful. Beans and rice were good. The avocado/guacamole was straight from a container, I expected something fresh. The salsa was outstanding, some of the best I have had at a restaurant anywhere in my life. My wife’s tortillas never came until she asked for them. Since we were a large table, they included the tip, 15%. I mentioned the drink issue to a lady I believe was the manager. She was very apologetic but made no offer to compensate for our displeasure with the service. I hate to hate on Eagle Pass, but this has always been my experience with restaurants in Eagle Pass, the service is sub-standard. So much potential, unfortunately, people in the food service industry in Eagle Pass, are not up to big/bigger city standards where the competition is much higher amongst restaurants. Maybe the management will read my review and make some changes for the betterment of the restaurant. In some places restaurants’ survival is dependent upon their Unilocal reviews. Based on the number of reviews for any restaurant in Eagle Pass, I doubt this is the case.
