On Sunday a group of us decided to head down to Miguel’s for dinner. We had six adults and two children in our party. It was a holiday weekend, so we had expected them to be busy. They had three other tables when we arrived. We had to wait ten minutes before they asked us how many people where in our party, and another fifteen minutes before we sat down. Once we were seated our waiter took our drink order quickly. We had two people order a Shirley temple. One came out right away but with no cherries and the other one came out 30 minutes later with extra cherries. We were never asked if we wanted refills on anything. We had to ask our waiter for appetizers and we had to find him to tell him we were ready to order our dinner. When we were able to catch him he would say«I’ll be with you in a minute.» Then he would never come back. The kid who was bussing the tables was a better waiter than the other guy. One of the children who was in our party ordered a kids quesadilla. Everything on the plate was cold. We had also asked for a side of sour cream and never got it. We had tried getting the waiters attention, but by that time everyone was done eating and it was pointless. We had planned on ordering dessert but our waiter never came back until he brought our check. This was the worst experience I have ever had at this establishment. I tried calling after we left to speak to a manager but no one ever picked up the phone. I will probably never go back to this restaurant again. It’s sad because we don’t have too many options where we live. Mazatlan in Central Point is the best around.

Walked in with my husband right behind me. I saw a young girl and asked where the restrooms were and she directed me. After returning to the dining room I was surprised to find my husband sitting at a table with no menu no nothing. The young lady did peer around the corner and i had to asked for menus and she gave to us with a very bad attitudes with the looks and her body language. I looked at my husband and said lets go. We are new to this area and trying to find good good and friendly staff. Won’t find it here

The pork tamale was amazing. Best Ive had in a while. Came in during the weekday for lunch and there wasnt very many patrons. The drinks will refilled fast and the food came out in a decent amount of time. Not too slow and not too fast. I hate when you order appetizers and before you get to the first bite, your main course is already being served. This was not the case. Come during the weekday if youre in a hurry. Theyre not very busy.

Had the Tacos Al Carbon. OMG! The first bite immediately reminded me of a childhood delight. On family road trips from San Diego to Ensenada, Mexico, we would stop to buy tortillas fresh from the grill, along with fresh cooked meat. Then we would drop the tailgate and enjoy the best soft tacos. Miguel’s duplicates this great simple taste and freshness. Well done!

Skip this place. Very rude waitstaff. Wont get into specifics but they seem to think everyone is inferior to them. they didn’t ask if our food was good or if we wanted our drinks refilled. An employee dropped plastics cups on the floor and my dad bent down to help pick them up. The staff’s reply was a harsh«can I help you?’ As if my dad was doing something wrong. There is plenty more to complain about but I don’t want to think about the bad experience anymore. Pass this place up and find a place with friendlier staff, McDonald’s has friendlier staff.

Miguel’s is my favorite restaurant in southern Oregon. I live in the Bay Area and eat here several times a year while visiting the area. The restaurant is clean and the service is good. Every dish I’ve tried was from very good to excellent. I especially love some of their seafood dishes. If you are a vegetarian you will find several options.

Food prices were too high, portions were small :(no take home bags for us! The dressings were from a jar and were cheap quality and their salsa was lacking in flavor. Our waitress was very friendly but that didn’t make up for us spending $ 40.00 on food we were not happy with. If you are going to spend that kind of money go to Porters they have the same portions but their food is local and fresh.

This is a local favorite, they have a full bar and several TVs around the restaurant. The chips are served warm and the salsa is most excellent. They even have a salsa bar where you can serve yourself and mix salsa to your own liking ! They serve Pepsi products which makes me very happy, free refills. If you have a group of 20 or just a family of four they can accommodate your needs and serve you a meal that is piping hot. That is something they say as they’re walking toward your table«hot plate» The fajitas are awesome, I like the carne Asada with flour tortillas. My kids like a variety of their burritos or their daily specials! The bathrooms are very clean and large, floors are very clean every time. Wait staff is very friendly and table busboys are very attentive they will refill your chips and salsa. Drink refills and water are always topped off. And always a great free dessert that is a scoop of ice cream on a large cinnamon chip with chocolate drizzled over it and honey. Credit card or debit card and cash, and almost always guaranteed you will have more food than you can eat. We have never had to wait to be seated, even when we have a group of 12. They even have coupons that you can find in the local newspaper or publications that will save money. Sometimes it is a buy one get one free offer, or a free drink or combination of a dinner and a drink. Of course we have experienced slow service at one time or another, but we have never had bad food ever. We will continue to eat here many more times.

I wanted to like this place, but it’s a no go for me. I have been there twice. The food is 1 star. Just not what I like in terms of Mexican food. Bland, no spices, no extras like cheese or sour cream on some things. I didn’t finish my meal either time… terrible food. Then On top of that the waiter was inattentive, not pleasant and did not do anything that resembles good service. It’s nice in the restaurant, but the food is expensive for how it tastes and the poor service.

Liked the salsa and that was about it! We had to ask for chips three times before we received a half basket of them. Order was wrong and we caught attitude from the server when we asked for it to be fixed. Our drinks were never re-filled and after waiting ten minutes for a check we finally just walked up front and asked if we could pay. In a nutshell, GREATSALSA but bring your own CHIPS! Not recommended!

Not good at all, had the fajita salad and the onions were raw, steak flavorless. I spoke with the server about the giant chunks of raw onion and she just shrugged and said OK but offered nothing.

Terrible food, they even charge for beans and rice with a combination plate and there couldn’t have been more than a tablespoon of watery beans on the plate, you could see the plate thru the beans! I live close by and had not gone there for over a year because of sub par food. I was really craving Mexican so we tried it again. We were the only ones there. The food was terrible no flavor, I had to dump the salsa for the chips in it just to have some flavor. I walked out with a 40+ bill for two, I should have gone to Taco Bell MUCH better food!

Everything here was just okay. We went for an early dinner so there was hardly anyone else there(2 other tables.) It seemed for every good thing, there was also a downer: It took awhile for our waiter to come take our order, but our food came out very quickly once it was taken. Our waiter was nice enough, but the girl who brought water, chips, etc. never responded when we thanked her for doing/bringing something, which happened several times, so it got a little awkward. I was happy to notice that because I had asked for no sour cream, they doubled my guacamole… until I tasted it– super bland, so I didn’t eat it(and I LOVE guacamole.) We both ordered different kinds of burritos-normally I would get chicken, but after reading the other reviews, I went for asada. A little chewy, but not terrible. The burritos were large and filling. The free dessert was a nice touch. It wasn’t expensive, but at $ 13, the burrito just costs too much for what you get in terms of quality(and no sides.) Overall, not a place I would go again when there are lots of other places to try nearby.

This place has inexpensive and fast Mexican food. When I get rubber chicken I have to suspect they are using chef Microwave more then Miguel. We eat here at least twice a month because its close and not bad. In one word Miguel’s is uneven. One meal will be great, the next trip I will get their famous rubberized chicken cubes. My wife and I do not order chicken entrée’s anymore. We have always had good service. Wait staff is friendly and competent. Our biggest complaint is that some things taste reheated.

Well I hardly ever give negative reviews but in the case of Miguel’s in Eagle Point, I can’t find much good to say about the place. First the bathroom was out of TP, not a deal breaker but it would of been nice not to have to leave my table to rescue my friend who called me on the cell phone begging for help! Next the place is not that clean. Waiter placed dishes on our table that we didn’t order, had to point out our order again and he finally picked it up and moved it several tables away acting like we committed a felony for not just accepting what he put in front of us. Now I could forgive all the above, but the food… Obviously pre-cooked and reheated in the microwave, my shrimp were little rubber balls, my beans looked like soup and tasted like dishwater. Rice was so so. I couldn’t taste any seasoning what so ever, just some salt might of helped(but nothing was going to help those beans). I would probably by-pass this place in an Apocalypse and starving!

We were driving, driving, driving and burritos sounded like a fantastic plan for a late breakfast /early lunch. We asked a random guy on a bicycle about where to find burritos in the area and he said«Miguel’s or the mini mart/gas station…» We weren’t looking to microwave any burritos, so we went the Miguel’s route. They have some super fast employees! We were seated, got water and got our food so quickly we weren’t quite sure what had happened. They were all kinds of speedy! We both got veggie burritos plates. They were pretty tasty, the serving was big, and the mushroom slices in the burrito were quite large. I think they were about $ 10, though, so I think we would have been happier if we could have gone to Laughing Planet Café(Eugene) or Taco del Mar instead.

Often I’ll visit Unilocal after the fact when I have a particularly bad experience. I just want to know, ‘Did I catch them on a bad night, or is it always like this?’ In the case of Miguel’s… «Is the house special, ‘Miguel’s Camarones» always this tasteless?” «Are these shrimp always so rubbery?» «Do other people stand for how dirty this place is?» «The place isn’t that full, why is the service so crappy?» You know how you can taste when someone puts love into a dish? Imagine what it tastes like when everyone in the place hates their job.

It’s not very often that I rate a Mexican food restaurant at a 4 star, but this one deserves it. We went in before 5 pm, so the service was slow as they weren’t in a hurry to get us out of the place. Here are a few pros and cons: Cons: — the place could be cleaner — windows, air ducts, some cob webs on the walls — not too friendly of a service — took too long to refill our drinks — waiter conducted himself as if he was in a big hurry, even though we werent’ there during the rush hour — food was… well, a bit too expensive for what they offered Pros: — I really liked the flavors of their dishes — the steak was cooked just right, veggies weren’t overdone, the rice had a yummy white wine sauce with melted cheese over it — everything tasted very good — the place isn’t crammed in, it felt spacious and well-decorated — they had a good variety of choices on the menu — easy access from the street This place is similar to Si Casa Flores family of restaurants in Southern Oregon, but Si Casa has a larger menu and a much friendlier service. Their food, however, is not as good as Miguel’s. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area and looking for a decent Mexican food place to go to. I think they also have other locations — Grants Pass, Ashland, and a couple of others.

Miguel’s, I’ve been wanting to try you for so long! Last Saturday we were able to stop in for lunch. My chile relleno was very good, however the chicken in my enchilada wasn’t very tender. It was hard to cut with a fork. I devoured it though, along with a couple baskets of chips, a pint of beer and the free dessert they offer at the end of the meal. The dessert(I know there’s a name for it) was a little scoop of ice cream on top of a wonderful caramel-cinnamon crust, drizzled with strawberry sauce and topped with whipped cream. I left very satisfied and stuffed. Locals…they are offering a $ 5 lunch that includes a free dessert Monday-Friday.
