$ 5 minimum for a debit card, really? In this cashless time? Maybe that’s to promote buying extra pastries, but this coffee-lover(no pastries please) will be going elsewhere. Also don’t force me into a 33% tip!

Awesome chai lattes! Took awhile to get it but I also came when a whole bunch of children were in there for some kind of field trip. The ambience was excellent. I had a turkey sandwich and it was perfect, the bread to meat ratio was on point!

Sometimes I stop in here for local cup of coffee along the main strip in Eagle River. The coffee isn’t bad(though I prefer stronger) and the prices are medium-high. The café is usually well occupied so finding a spot to relax is sometimes not so relaxing. The food is ok. I like the muffins and an occasional scone. Service is friendly. The artwork on the walls is a draw for me. Sometimes it’s a photo contest(e.g, for Bear Paw) or something from local artists. That is one feature that differentiates Jitters and lures me in.

Comfy location. Perfect for work and people watching. Love that they have gluten-free scones and muffins!

Jitters has the worst customer service of any café I’ve ever been into. I have continued to go back because I really want to support a local business. Their drinks are fairly decent, the price is comparable to Starbucks. I first noticed the poor customer service when I was trying to figure out their app. The young lady was so irritated that I was holding up her line and made no attempt to cover up her irritation. Another time I ordered a 16 oz HC for my daughter &16oz latte for myself. When I went to pick up our drinks there was a 12 oz HC, so I told the barista I ordered 16 oz. she replied that the people before us must have mistakenly taken our drink so we could have the 12oz. Again I got rudeness & irritation, as she insisted twice that I take the 12oz. Today was my last trip to Jitters. I went through the drive through. When I got my latte it was luke warm. I kindly asked if he would warm up my drink. He, rudely, grabbed my drink, shoved it under the steamer, spilling coffee everywhere, and then handed my 16 oz latte back to me and said rudely, «You’re welcome!» Before I could even say thank you. I looked in my drink and it was several ounces shy of 16oz due to the violent steaming of my drink. There was not even a line behind me. I have no idea what caused the attitude. I’m done there. Customer service means so much more to me than buying from a local business.

Coffee is great but the amount of people who brings their kids and lounge there for hours at a time make it impossible to actually get a seat. Nice group of locals I suppose it’s a nice problem to have being over crowded all the time. They try to turn it into a Seattle time lounge with folk singers, which is a mistake

These days I go to Jitters more for the comfortable atmosphere than the coffee. There’s plenty of seating, especially compared to other coffee shops in Eagle River. Prices are average compared to other coffee shops in the area. I really liked the staff they had a few years ago, but none of them are working there any more. Now the employees are mainly high school and college students. The service is generally nice enough, but the espresso drinks are hit or miss. Usually they’re just okay, nothing special. I’m not sure if this has to do with lack of proper training or the baristas are just trying to get drinks done as quickly as possible when it’s busy. I actually prefer the cookies, scones, and other baked treats they make in-house. They’re more expensive than the other baked goods that come from other bakers in the Anchorage area, but it’s worth it. I really liked the pumpkin praline bread pudding and the giant pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, but they don’t have them every day. Overall it’s a nice place to meet someone for a casual conversation over coffee, but not my favorite place in terms of the quality of the coffee.

Pretty average coffee shop. The gluten free muffins are my highlight of coming here. The coffee isn’t Starbucks, so that’s a plus. The quality of my beverage varies trip to trip, depending on who’s working. The staff is mainly made up of chatty students who seem more interested in gossiping and talking about school than making coffee. That’s not to say they aren’t friendly– they are super sweet! They always make me feel welcome and ask me about my day. I’m just used to my old café, which treated coffee making as an art form. Perhaps I’m just high maintenance. ;) The wireless is spotty, so it’s not ideal for doing work, but the music they play is good. I might be biased because I walked in once and heard my wedding song(The Call by Regina Spektor) over the speakers. The atmosphere is warm– there’s even a fireplace! I haven’t been here when it wasn’t crowded, so it seems to be a local favorite. However, that means I occasionally have trouble finding a table near a wall socket and away from the front door. All in all, I’ll keep coming back out of convenience. There are sandwiches and coffee and some days I’m too lazy to make my own. You know how it goes.

3.5 stars Spacious, warmly lit café in a strip mall Friendly service GF muffins Sandwiches and pastries in the case Toasty fireplace Tshirts and quality goods for sale When I first arrived it was lots of older men in here. Then it was the moms and tots. Then after school, it’ll be the kids. That’s the standard flow of regulars, I’m told. Everyone certainly did seem to know everyone else. Latte was a bit burnt with bubbly foam. Not as artistic as I hoped. The GF muffin was sweet but had a moist, chewy texture — very satisfying. The art on the walls is fantastic. I would’ve walked out of here with that beautiful photo of a lonely polar bear gazing at the moon if I were not a humble folksinger on a very limited budget. *sigh* When I leave Alaska I won’t be dreaming of the coffee, but I will be thinking about the photos on the walls — northern lights, landscapes, and that glorious bear.

This is an update on Jitters. They have a bake cook who makes the best scones I have ever had. Better than in UK or Ireland. Especially when fresh from the oven, usually 1030 hours plus or minus. Not to be missed along with a cup of their coffee and the pageant of locals.

Coffee is very good, ambiance is nice — a little loud though. Service and food leaves a lot to be desired.

Please have the barristas use their inside voices. Food prepared very haphazardly. Definately high school cafeteria ambiance.

Really love this place. The menu is huge and the many options all taste great.(Tried a gluten free brownie out of curiosity and loved it) The prices are pretty decent and the décor is super cute. The few times I’ve been here, i have enjoyed it. It does have a slight stuck up feel, and im not a huge fan of their coffee.(Too strong lol)

Never been super impressed with this place. The only reason I come here is because Steamdot is too far a drive now that I live in Eagle River. The coffee is alright, but the espresso drinks are hit and miss(mostly miss). Most of the lattes I get have at least 2 inches of foam on top of them and their shots taste burnt all of the time. To add to this, their wifi is always problematic. It’s either not working or I barely have enough bandwidth to check my email. Overall I’m not impressed with this place, but it will have to do for now as Sleepy Dog is always too cramped. Also, there always seems to be a different group of subtly racist old men talking about how Obama has no soul or is a terrorist or how climate change is a sham. It’s pretty obnoxious. Aside from all of this, the staff are all very nice people and I’ve never had a problem with their service.

Went here while staying in Eagle River, place has average prices, drinks were made correctly. They do offer some food items which is great! My favorite part was the atmosphere, there is this great group of older gentlemen that were just carrying on having a great time. It was lovely.

It’s the best place in Eagle River to just stop for a break and grab a drink and/or a bite to eat! I have a lot of friends that work here since it’s a lot of local students so I always love to stop by and support a local business. The lattes and other drinks have a much richer taste than the nearby national chains of coffee shops like Starbucks, so I prefer to stop here, especially when I’m looking for a place to just relax and get a little snack!

Since moving to Oregon I have yet to find a coffee joint with the same type of fantastic home town customer service and friendliness. I’m not a fan of the breakfast burritos but their soups and sandwiches are great. My FAV coffee is the«Bennie Ben Ben» with almond milk — mmmmmmmmmm thanks for creating it, Ben!!! I think the only negative thing I could say about jitters is that it is 900° inside the building at all times other than that, it’s the place to meet a friend in Eagle River for a great cup of coffee and comfortable environment!

Jitters is Eagle River’s living room. It is warm, friendly and laid back. They also happen to make excellent coffee, roasted by local Alaska coffee legends, the Kaladi Brothers. The jitters blend is very close to Red Goat blend for those who are Kaladi fans and it is a medium roast with a smooth cocoa aftertaste. Their food is average, but this is a coffee shop, not a bistro, so I don’t knock them for that. The drive through coffee truck in the parking lot works when you are in a hurry, but if there are more than two cars in line, going inside, where they often have two baristas and a cashier during peak hours is often faster.
