Giving them 2.5 stars today. Newly renovated, new cook and new wait staff — faster service. Ordered 3 dishes — curry duck/small bowl, chicken satay/5 pieces for $ 9, and beef broccoli and 2 orders of rice for $ 37+. Price point too high for the portions served, especially when compared to other restaurants in the surrounding area. Prices went up by an average of $ 2.00-$ 3.00 per dish. Upside is food is tasty and seems fresher, esp. the meats. The meats didn’t have that freezer burn taste. Downside… prices too high, could go down $ 2.00, especially since portions got smaller. Food served was not hot, served lukewarm. Chicken Satay a little on the dry side and peanut sauce too thin. For the prices charged… service was so-so. Miss the special/personal touch of having left-over food packed for you. Hope the new owners listen to their customers and read reviews, and more importantly act upon it. Eagle Rock has so many other choices and places to go eat. There have been 5 different owners in the last 20 years since we started going here. The back needs a major overhaul. Bathrooms absolutely needs a full renovation. I am rooting for the new owners… they can have their own niche here. Eagle Rockers love to eat… you can tell just by walking down Colorado. Best wishes to the new owners on turning things around!

Time to get rid of my guilt for only giving them 1 star based on waiting forever for something that should have been ready but now that they are participating in Eat 24, that waiting around at their restaurant should not be an issue any more. We are going to revisit them and want to like them, as I have a soft spot for the mom and pop restaurants that are simply trying to get by.

This place is horrible with their delivery took 2 hours for my food and it was cold so I had to tell them I didn’t want it anymore and then got screamed at by their driver. I didn’t have a chance to even try their food. I am never going to order from here again.

I’m at fault for ordering again. In eight years we are still waiting 1.5 to 2.0 hours for delivery. They get lost! They don’t have a computer with addresses! They get lost, they get lost… no manager to speak to… it’s a little nuts. Food is okay. Wide variety for vegetarians. When I called to complain, they offered to fire the delivery person. Just awful.

The food is extremely tasty and beautiful and delicious, but the service and vibe of the place could use a bit of an energy boost. Despite that, I completely recommend!

Thought we’d give this place a go hoping to be pleasantly surprised. And no; The worst service ever. Our wait person barely spoke English, refused to suggest anything off the menu when asked, horrible timing of dishes served(after 30minutes claimed the burger(which was cardboard) was«hard to make» while canned curry came out in 4minutes), the onion ring batter was bitter and the onion itself tasted spoiled. What’s more is our wait person sat right in front of us eating her lunch while we waited unreasonably long for ours and to top it all off with some crap ambience we will never be back. It’s actually hard to do much worse short of us now getting food poisoning.

My family enjoys thai food. This place is decent for the money. Service needs to improve. I am confused how I can phone in an order, come about 45 minutes later to an empty restaurant and my meal has not even been started. LAST. VISIT.

I’ve eaten here before, dined in… my memory of it was that it was ok… I was waiting while my car was being worked on up the street… but that they offered tickets on lotteries all over Asia… seemed like more attention was paid to that than the food. But today in the mail I got a glossyn menu-sized(menu?) for a new place called Thai Coconut(with a coconut for the second ‘O’ in the name). First page: WEDODELIVER info on all 8 ways to order online Website Three FREE offers… depending on the amoutn of purchase. Map Address. Yep, it’s the(now former) Panang! Full color photos of so many dishes… but in tiny print on the back page it says ‘images are for reference only’. Also on the back page, Lunch Specials 7.75(M-F) and a couple of dishes costing more. I hadn’t heard anything about the change, I hope someone tries it and posts a review… I’m not about to try it, no matter how pretty the pictures look… I wonder if it’s a new owner or the old owner trying to upgrade the place. I tried two Thai takeouts in the NELA area… shame on me for not trusting the Unilocalers who told me not to… and I wondered if there was a connection between over-the-top deiivery options and decline in quality… Any comments?

The food here is good, not great. They are slow, sometimes to the point of frustration. They typically don’t start pick up orders before you arrive, so don’t try to order via phone, the translation issues will truly be trying. I’m not sure about the Japanese or Chinese food as I never order food from one type or restaurant trying to be another. They may be under new management as I see new booths people and prices. Tonight it’s warm and they unplugged the a/c. Not my style.

Although the food here is satisfactory, the service and attitude of the staff are abhorrent. We placed a rather large order for delivery two days in advance for a company meeting, specifying that the food must be delivered by 11:15am for our meeting to begin promptly. Not only were they late by more than 15 minutes — thus delaying the start of our meeting — but they also were unable to run our credit card unless we specified how much tip we wanted to give them PRIOR to delivery. Hence, after charging us for the meal plus a rather generous tip, they were still late and furthermore, unapologetic. I called the restaurant to follow up on the whereabouts of our order, and after a brief, «The driver is on his way,» I was promptly dismissed. It is unlike me to write scathing reviews, but I was compelled by this distasteful experience to do so. I understand that stuff happens and late deliveries are not out of the realm of possibility. However, what elicited this review was the rudeness by which all this was handled. Attitude is completely within their control, and it would be in their best interest to take an etiquette class or two. One star because the food order was made correctly. But that’s it.

Its a hit or miss! Its alright, at first you can’t tell if this is a market, a restaurant, or a pottery barn. Alot of knick knacks and brikka brack being sold. BUT wait it actually is a restaurant lol. Ok the food here is alright. It used to be really good BUT nowadays it lacks flavor. I don’t know if they are just attending to the new transplants or pretentious hipsters because they serve everything from THAI, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Sushi. Sounds great right? BUT I am a firm believer that LESSISMORE. You can tell when a CHEF makes food and they put their love into it And you also know when food was just made by a cook to be made. Every time I leave Panang, I always say BETTERLUCKNEXTTIME???

I do not leave reviews often on Unilocal but my experience with panang has really motivated me to write this review. I ordered food from here and the delivery time was 45 – 60 minutes. After 1 hour and 15 minutes had passed, I decided to call them to see where the food was. The lady on the phone informed me that my order was almost ready. I was taken by suprise and thought I misunderstood her. She then proceeded to tell me that I needed to be more patient. The fact that they think it’s ok to speak to any person like that, particularly when the person has already been waiting patiently and simply asking what the ETA is, is unbelievable. She was very rude and I’m in complete disbelief over what this restaurant thinks it’s acceptable. In fact if the management even cares, they should feel free to contact me and resolve this at which point I will happily retract this review.

So I ordered through the eat 24 app. They have a great Lunch selection menu. I ordered the Kung pao chicken it was good but they should add more chicken to it. The kung pao combo came with your choice of sides: fried rice, wonton, and a salad all three were delicious. For appetizers I got more won tons, and dessert fried banana. The fried banana is sooooo good inside it seems as if they cook of with coconut shavings and brown sugar. Perfect sweet treat. The thai tea is good and cheap price :). The delivery came on time and everything was packaged well and food was warm.

They have what appears to be a great selection of plant-based options, but I have no idea if they are any good because after waiting TWOHOURS for my delivery order midday on a weekday, I gave up and had Eat24 refund my money. Neither I nor the Eat24 rep could actually tell if the food was ever really coming. Guys, not all restaurants can handle delivery. Please recognize your own limitations.

Decent pad Thai it was the only thing that we got that was good, they didn’t have meecrob. I think only A fee places serve this. I like the other thai place down the street better. This place didn’t leave me an impression that we have to go back. Too many places to choose to go to and necessarily Thai food, we can go to the variety in this town

Lots of negative reviews, but I thought the food was just fine. The dining room is pretty hot and stuffy, probably because of the open air kitchen, but if they’d invest in some A/C, or something to efficiently move air through, it would definitely make eating in more appealing. Since going out to eat is about more than just the food after all. That said one of the hosts saw me fan myself at one point and found a fan to blow in my direction, which was very considerate. Take out will be in my future here.

This place was ridiculous. We came here wanting Thai food, but were shocked when we realized there were three different menus for three different kinds of food. If Gordon Ramsay or Robert Irvine were to see that a restaurant had three different menus, they would have had a heart attack. I placed and order to-go for the pineapple fried rice and the dynamite appetizer. My boyfriend and I were waiting approximately 45 minutes. There were only four other people in the restaurant during the time we placed our order, and it seemed as if they were facing a long wait as well. This place is also very cluttered — they also sell small souvenirs. The entire atmosphere was confusing and the knick knacks reminded me of being in a small gift shop, not a restaurant. While I was waiting on the bench inside for my food, I was sitting next to a pile of menus that they recently received. Cluttered, dusty, and unorganized. And with hopes that the food would justify my waiting experience, I was pretty disappointed with how bland it was. I have to give it to them that the waitress we had was nice and apologetic, but I don’t think id be coming back to this place.

Worst food ever. I ordered the BBQ chicken which took longer than I expected since I was the ONLYONE in the restaurant. It was not barbecued. It was cooked on the grill with oil, sort of like pan-fried. And the chicken had bits of coagulated white stuff on it. I still gave it the benefit of the doubt after questioning the waiter, who assured me that that is how they cook their BBQ chicken. And granted I’ve seen Thai BBQ chicken that almost look the same. So I took a bite. GROSS! Immediately spat it out. All I can taste was the oil and the chicken tasted old. I have never done this at any restaurant but I ACTUALLYWALKEDOUT! It’s bad enough that their décor is like walking into a poorly organized thrift shop with dusty bric-à-brac strewn all over the place. I gave it a try despite the dismal interiors since I was really craving Thai and it was the closest place. Now I know why no one else was there. To be honest, I really do not know how this place has remained open. Most possibly the worst culinary experience you can ever have.

Once upon a time this was a decent Thai restaurant. Unfortunately, these days Panang is nothing close to what is considered«decent.» I went here several times before throwing my sentimentality out the window and reviewing this restaurant for what it really is. You walk into the restaurant and it looks dirty. The seats are cracked and dirty. The tables are sticky. The back looks dusty. And no one– NOONE– is wearing a hairnet/hat. You get greeted by a lady with a thick accent who will look around at the empty restaurant for a good two minutes before deciding where to seat you. Oh look, the place setting that was sitting there before you arrived is a little dusty. Hm. Maybe you’ll use the chopsticks sitting in the jar on the side of the table? Oh, it’s dirty. Scratch that idea. Well you pick up the large glossy menu(which, by the way, is also sticky) and pick something to order. Let’s say you decide on some pork chops and some honey walnut shrimp with a couple orders of steamed rice and fried bananas for dessert. You’ll have a glass of water since the Thai iced tea is $ 2.75 for cupful of ice and about 2 ounces of actual tea. The food is prepared by a friendly lady behind the counter(without a hairnet, I must remind you) and before you know it you have two dishes sitting in front of you. Neither one is very hot but oh well. The first thing you’ll notice is that none of the veggies(green onion on the chops, lettuce on the shrimp, cucumber on the side) look fresh. In fact, they look old. And they taste old too. Have some vinegar and fish sauce to liven your dead-for-too-long pork chops. But look, the spoons in the sauce containers appear to be culturing some sort of spores(euphemism for«mold») on them… Better not. Reach across your sticky table for some honey walnut shrimp only to find that the sauce has too much mayo and it’s basically mayo shrimp… Yum? *gags* Someone please bring me my fried bananas with ice cream before I cry! When they do arrive, you will find that the ice cream is already melty and your bananas aren’t that fresh either. You will pay reluctantly and slump away disappointed and sad. The end. On the bright side(the only bright side) the ladies are friendly and sweet. They should just go work somewhere else. Somewhere I could go eat something maybe.

WOW. Did I sure have an unusual experience with this restaurant today. Sit back ladies and gentleman, this one is a doozy. Let me preface this by saying that I have been cheering for this place for about a year now. Despite the dust and dirt covered restaurant, despite the 1 hour+ delivery times, despite the absurdly large and unfocused menu, they are the only thai restaurant in my area that has a whole vegetarian menu. So I really wanted this relationship to work out. I also order from here at least a couple times a month and usually pick up. Today I ordered soy chicken satay for delivery to my work nearby. I was standing on the front porch of my work talking to a contractor with my back to the door. I had put my phone down on the ledge beside me to look at some drawings with the contractor, my phone was at most 8 ft away from me. It was playing music softly because I was on hold with another company and wanted to be able to hear it if I got through. When the delivery lady arrived, she didn’t approach us or knock on the door. I just saw someone stealthily trying to go in the building out of the corner of my eye. I asked if I could help her and realized she was there to bring the food. She acted very strange and wouldn’t make eye contact as I was trying to ask if there was anything to sign since I ordered through . I stepped in the doorway to put the food down and came back out, she was already gone. I looked around and was like… uuuuuugh where’s my cell phone? The contractor I was with was like, it was sitting right there playing music, right? I searched everywhere, but there aren’t a lot of places it could be in my tidy office or on the little front porch. And I just knew the delivery lady took it. So I went in and contacted since I couldn’t call the restaurant. I was the only one in the office and had the only phone. I opened up my bag of food, guess what, wrong order, it was real chicken, not soy chicken, and smelled like greasy death. After several emails back and forth with , they said that they will have the correct food brought to me, but unfortunately, there must be a misunderstanding, the delivery lady does not have my phone and didn’t see it anywhere. YARIGHT. For all of you people who think I’m a crazy asshole right now, blaming my missing phone on a poor sweet 80 year old delivery lady, just wait. So the lady comes back with my correct order and says, ‘why did you contact the restaurant? I didn’t take your phone!‘ I said, ‘Um are you sure, because it was sitting right here next to me and then it disappeared when I put the food inside?‘ she was like, ‘no no no, I didn’t take it.‘ then she said, ‘well what color is it anyway?‘ me, ‘it’s pink, can you please give it back?‘ her, ’ OOOOTHATPHONE, oh I just saw it there and didn’t know who it belonged to, so I took it.‘ REALLLY? nice try bitch. we are in a 100% deserted office building, with a deserted parking lot. It is just me and this contractor dude here, not another soul in sight. You had to walk at least 50ft to get to this front door, you picked up a pink phone on a ledge less than 10ft away from a girl who is buying something from you, and obviously doing something with her hands and thus cannot hold a phone at the moment, and you had no idea who it could have possibly belonged to? and didn’t think to say, ‘hey is this yours?’ or just leave it there? It was playing music! and P. S. you are on private property! Is it normal for you to deliver food to people’s homes and business and take what you like from the doorway? and then lie about taking it? and then admit to it? She also asked for the incorrect chicken order to take back with her. God knows why. and for the icing on the cake, my second order she brought was covered in hairs. On the bottom of the last piece of food. Which of course I did not see until I got to the last piece. Check the photo. it is now 3pm. I threw up the food that I ordered at 12:30, and I’d probably be starving if I wasn’t so grossed out and annoyed. FAAAAAAACK I want my goddamn money back.

Excellent choice for veggie Thai — not like there’s a lot of options for those of us trying to give up meat, but I was pleasantly surprised by their tasty soy beef and chicken dishes. The chicken Pad Thai was delish and maybe it’s been too long since I had real chicken, but it really did«taste like chicken»! Also tried yellow curry with soy beef, and that was the bombdiggity, even better the next day after the curry got a chance to soak into the«beef» and vegetables. Veggie egg rolls were a tasty way to wake me up and help me regain my appetite since it took them so long to show! I wasn’t going to ding them for the delayed delivery because I did order late on a Friday and I kinda live in the boondocks — but once I read some of the recent reviews(e.g. Lisa P & Christina F.) I got the feeling my situation was not an exception, and decided something needed to be said: my delivery was not even as late as others have encountered, I was told it wold take 1 hour and it took them around 1:35 — as yummy as their food was, I’m not sure I’ll chance waiting 3 hours next time though, so I hope they pay attention to their reviews and hire more drivers or do something to improve on their delivery time —
