What a great way to catch up on some old 70s/80s video games. The drinks and food are cheap and are pretty good. A great place for a party for the kids who love video games. The only thing I don’t like about it is, the room is very dark and smells a little funky.

Well, having come of age in the 80’s, at a time when video games were essential for human existence, this place sure does hit that sweet spot for nerdy nostalgia. Tempest, Centipede, Space Invaders, Asteroids, and of course Battle Zone. These were my favorites, and all present at Grinkers. For lunch, I got the Tuna sandwich which was pretty decent(I got it without onions, of course). So while my gaming performance is a bit off from what it was 30-something years ago, it still is a fun place to visit. [ What’s blue and doesn’t weigh much? …. … Light blue. ]

Wow, awesome place! I would have spent all day here if my wife hadn’t decided it was time to leave. They have MANY video games. You can purchase snacks and beverages, too. I loved the low lighting inside so that there’s no reflections on the screens. The employee working the counter was very friendly and helpful. This may be my new sneak away from home place to have fun(hey, it’s better than sneaking off to an opium den, ok?).

I stopped in here randomly one night with a friend and was pleasantly surprised! Great games, pretty good beer selection, and the gal behind the bar was super nice. My only wish was that they had tables or drink holders close to the games so I didn’t have to figure out what the hell to do with my beer every time I wanted to play a game.

This place has great food for cheap and the games only cost a quarter to play! Conveniently located in downtown eagle which makes it a great place to spend some time with friends on the weekends! I’m not a expert or anything but the selection of games here is better than any place I’ve ever been

Denizens of the Treasure Valley, I cannot believe that I have never written a review for this place! This was one of the spots I picked out when I first moved to the Boise area a couple years ago. I loved arcades as a kid growing up, and while I was more a child of the 90’s than 80’s in terms of video games, this place still brings back all those memories and is a TON of fun. They have all the great classic games from that era, and a handful of 90’s favorites like TMNT and Street Fighter II. They also have a fair amount of pinball machines if that is more your speed. And everything is still 25 cents each! You can’t do much better for your«entertainment dollar» these days. A lot of people compare this place to Spacebar downtown, and that’s a decent comparison. But they really cater to two very different crowds. Spacebar is much more of a BAR. This is where you go if you want a purely adult clientele and a more mature atmosphere. Go here if you are more about the drinking and less about the games. Grinker’s is a much more FAMILY vibe. This is a place to take your kids. So come here if you’re looking for a more casual and kid friendly experience. That said, they still have a pretty good selection of «adult beverages» if you are looking to imbibe. It really isn’t a matter of one place being«better» than the other. They both fit a different niche. Bottom line folks, when you are looking to revisit the«golden age» of video arcades, check out Grinker’s. It is totally worth the experience.

Took my 2 boys(9&7) and daughter(4) and they had almost as much fun as I did(38). It’s definitely a throw back to simpler times and games. 25 cents and easy to figure out and play as long as you could stay alive. Not this suck your money to «continue» crap of today. Go to Grinkers and have fun. We will be going back and soon!

Do you remember the old days? Do you remember when Asteroids first came out and Centipede was the rage? Then you need to come here :). Bring your quarters, dust off those old skills and tackle video games from the ancient times :-D. Oh, and enjoy a nice cold draft beer and an awesome toast beef sandwich while you’re at it. There is a downside; there are those who will bring their little kids here, and you won’t experience that at Spacebar, but you will find more games, real food, and still old school good times when you make it here.

Do you go to Spacebar? If the answer is yes, then you need to stop and come here!!! It’s three times bigger! They have 5x as many games and seating everywhere in the facility. EVERYGAME is 25¢! BETTERBEERSELECTION! FOOD! And $ 1 ice cream on Sundays! It’s family friendly which means, you can send your children to the other side of the building and spend the whole night on the other side not paying a babysitter. The parking is always easy and no street parking like downtown. This place is way underrated and needs more Boise support! The downfall. Children of you’re not a fan of kids. The positive. It’s child friendly! So spend an evening with your wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend and send the kids off with $ 5 in quarters. Cheapest babysitter there is. Come over and get your 80s arcade game on!

Been in twice for lunch. Felt like I had stepped back in time into an 80’s arcade. Every arcade game from Frogger to Galaga to the original Empire Strikes Back is on display. Clean restaurant with an attentive staff. Mostly just sandwiches, but with 6 – 8 beers on tap and many more by the bottle. I will be headed back whenever I have time for a longer lunch.

I travel 7 hours once a year to visit Grinkers for the weekend. The food is fantastic, the staff is more than friendly and accommodating, and the collection of games is nothing short of spectacular. If you want the true 80s throwback experience of an arcade with the modern feel of a family restaurant, Grinkers is number 1 in the nation, hands down.

Excellent experience like walking back in time. Combo your youth with these nostalgic arcade games with your older 21 plus self to drink good beer. This place has all those arcade games you played in the 80s and 90s. Prices for everything is cheap. Great value for what you get. I come here 1 to 2 times a month. Nice staff, fast service, good food. Also big screen to watch sports too. This doesn’t have the chucky cheese or Dave n busters feel. It’s like hopping into the Delorean with Marty McFly and Doc Brown to an 80s arcade. Don’t worry, there’s no Biff here. Go here. Won’t regret it.

Just simply the best collection of 80s arcade machine in great condition in the treasure valley. Haven’t tried the food yet cause too busy playing the games at only a quarter each still. Hope others discover and support this nostalgic experience.

This place is so fun! If it weren’t for living social I wouldn’t know it existed but I’m glad they had a deal on there($ 10 for $ 20 value). For a 8 in sub they are only 5.75 and I got the pastrami and turkey and it was delicious! There was a slight mix up with my husbands sub, they accidentally gave him roast beef and turkey instead of pastrami and turkey but it was fixed without any question. They have 146 old video games, which is of course fun to play. Definitely recommend this place.

Fun place! Not the normal mega arcade with all the tickets and cheap prizes. Just an old school video game and pinball hangout. The have a bar that serves beer and wine. And some food choices. Didn’t try any. But available. Freindly staff. The games do have some issues but the staff takes care of any problems. Need to be patient the machines are older. 80s. But that’s what makes this place cool. Takes you back! ACDC playing loud with red bulbs barely lighting the place. What’s not to love? A lot of fun for a roll of quarters.

Today, for the first time in(mumbled) years, I got to play Qix! I love that game! I didn’t do very well on it, but I did get my name on the high score board for Burger Time, Tempest, and Frogger. Hubby and I were here to celebrate a friend’s birthday with about a dozen others. It was pretty busy(Saturday night). We started out with sodas(that they refill for free!) and a bag of Doritos. Then I decided to order a sandwich. I got a recommendation from the waitress and was served a really great hot roast beef sandwich with honey mustard and avocado, tomato, and lettuce. I was very pleasantly surprised. They steamed the meat/cheese/bread so it was warm & soft. Then after heating those, they added the cold items. SUCH a good sandwich! And the food/drinks were a great value. I’d come here for a sandwich instead of the Subway down the street! The restroom was very nicely appointed and clean. We felt hot inside, and probably with all those old-school machines on all the time it would be difficult to cool it down. Maybe some fans would help? It was also quite loud inside — too noisy to try to carry on a significant conversation.
