Great service. Lovely waitress. And they offered us a free potsticker which was very delightful. It is at a great location with wonderful views of downtown Eagle. The food was amazing and very healthy. Love this place.

We eat here for breakfast when we are heading south through the Kettle Moraine. Service is great and the breakfasts are very good. I’ve had the mushroom, ham and veggies skillet twice now and its excellent. The large size is enough for two meals — great for leftovers. The white bread they use for toast is home-made and outstanding. They include orange marmalade in the jelly assortment — a rare treat and yummy on the homemade toast. Prices very affordable.

Thank you my Unilocal friends for the wonderful suggestion. The food and service here is exceptional. The pancakes are the best pancakes I’ve had and the sausage gravy is sinful. I will definitely be back!

Good food, good price and good service. Had the French dip with french fries, more than enough food to be full and the fries were crispy, fresh and tasty. My husband had a cheese burger and they give you three cheese options.

The Hen House is over decorated with a hand made décor that Grandma would approve. I have been here enough times to understand«Hen House» is appropriate(let your imagination run wild). The Breakfast served here is outstanding, piping HOT and of the best quality. I like eggs served over«medium»…a good test for farm fresh tasting eggs! The oversized breakfast sausage links are tender, tasty and seared to perfection. Every time I go I ask where can I buy these, hoping the wait staff will«crack» and spill the beans so to speak…“Never Happens”. The kitchen is open,(sort of) and interesting to view the cook moving left to right in step, with head down preparing orders. A nice view! The food is great, the service is better, the ambiance is… «Grandma’s apple pie».

My husband and I walked in, noticing they were semi-busy(it’s a pretty small restaurant) with 3+ waitresses, and proceeded to sit in a booth. We went late morning. I can honestly say that most of the staff working there appear happy to be there and polite, with the exception of our waitress; being nothing short of rude to every customer she served. While taking orders she seemed annoyed, rushed, and at one point exclaiming that she was«just too busy». We ordered a country-style breakfast and an omelet. We received our food quick and it was obvious why — the eggs were undercooked and the vegetables were cold. The multi-grain toast was really good. Overall, I recommend going somewhere else for breakfast/brunch.

I keep my breakfasts fairly simple, eggs toast and hash browns make me very happy. They did a really nice job with my breakfast the other morning and I certainly have nothing to complain about. The service was great and the meal was tasty.

I have never written a one-star review before. Never been to a place that deserved one. HOWEVER… I’m sorry to say that The Hen House proved a complete disappointment yesterday. We went in for a late lunch, at abt. 1:30(they close at 2) and decided on the breakfast menu. Results: Coffee was mediocre. «French Toast» was terrible – Made of yellow-colored bread, with no sign of being dipped in any egg at all, and then deep-fried, for all love. Whoever heard of such a thing? With it, my companion had a ham slice which was only slightly burned. But my roast beef hash had been heated on the griddle, and burned almost all over. We couldn’t finish our meals. :( Hey, if you say you’re open until 2 pm, then you have to be ready to serve patrons before that time. Sorry, I cut you no slack on that. There was another couple who walked in as we walked out – They were seated, though I don’t know if they were served. Pros: Service was reasonably prompt, and friendly. Cons: Almost everything else. Based on this one experience, I’d have to say, avoid the place. Bottom line: We will give The Hen House exactly ONE more try – and I sincerely hope that our experience yesterday was an isolated incident. Others’ reviews are much more positive, and I’m glad for that. But ye gods, French-fried«French toast»???

Best omlette and cinnamon french toast ever. The hash browns are great. The eggs were not over cooked like most places. Heck even the bread and coffee were great. We will be back. My son had the burger and he especially loved the homemade bun.

Gets packed on the weekends here, but worth the wait. Good home style breakfast place that puts Denny’s to shame.
