I had a 5.35 kW solar system installed on my house in December 2011. This system has dramatically cut my electric bills. For example, I have spent a total of just $ 53 for electricity over the last four months combined even though I live in a large old house in Soulard which has two central air conditioning units. However, I am rather disappointed in the customer support given by Microgrid both before and after a sale. Specifically, I met with a sales rep from Microgrid on August 11, 2011. After discussing the feasibility of getting a roof solar system installed on my house, I received two proposals for different sized systems. I then ordered the larger-sized system from Microgrid within a week. Although I was told my system would be installed before the end of October, the solar system was finally installed on almost the last day of 2011(which was important for tax purposes). While I am happy with the new solar system, I was disappointed with the time needed to even start my project — the installation took just two days. In addition, I was promised«a system cleaning and inspection visit at the end of the first year of operation». After several calls to Microgrid after the year expired on my system, I am just now getting an inspection and cleaning(i.e, seven months after the first year of operation). I think Microgrid could improve its customer services support if it had an automated system to keep track of it commitments to customers.

Microgrid installed a PV system on my house in September after doing a larger system on my office building last year. Both times they installed quickly and on time. Both systems work perfectly and look great. They handled all the incentive paperwork for us both times. Their customer service was excellent. Very professional operation.
