Well, I have a fence. It took a lot longer than it should have, but my fence is done. The house I bought in Clarence has an HOA, and the HOA only allows a certain style of fences. I got a couple of quotes and had ones about $ 1000 cheaper than this company, but this company boasted they had worked with the HOA before and done many of the neighbors fences. So I though, «you know, I’ll go with them because they are have worked with the HOA already, maybe they will blow me away with customer service and I won’t mind they cost $ 1000 more than a comparable quote». So we arrange for them to come out and they show up and very loudly start doing the fence. Now, I expected equipment noise. They also like to blast a radio while they work which wouldn’t be awful if my husband wasn’t trying to work from home and I didn’t have a toddler that naps in the afternoon. So we had two«fun» days of a lot of noise outside. I can forgive that, they are human and probably want to drown out their own equipment noise. The thing they did that just rubbed me the wrong way was that some of my fence came damaged apparently. They got 90% of the fence done but then just left on the second day without telling me why they weren’t finishing. I called the up the day after and asked, «hey…my fence isn’t done» and that’s when they told me some of it came damaged and they had to order replacement parts. Now while I’m happy that they ordered better materials and didn’t just stick me with a crap fence, I feel like this could have been better communicated to me. They said they’d come back the following week after the stuff came. next week comes, still no fence finished. In this time I went and got a puppy, so having a fence with an open spot became awesome because everyday my puppy would make a beeline over to the neighbor’s yard to try to poop. After a week I call them again and they tell me they are still waiting for the parts. AGAIN… they could have communicated this to me without me having to hound them to ask them. I’m gonna cut the story short and tell you it took THREE weeks for my replacement fence to come in and in that three weeks they never once contacted me, I kept having to call them for the status. The other thing they did that didn’t make me very happy is the mess they leave with the dirt from digging the fence posts. They just leave the pile of dirt in your grass for you to clean up yourself. This is not a full service fence company.

My girlfriend had a wood fence put into her backyard in May(2014). I was really impressed with the work, and the price was very reasonable compared to other fence companies. They also waited till the ground had dried up a bit and did no damage to the yard whatsoever. Fast-forward to August, the gate they built to the backyard started to bow outward, and became tough to close. I told her to ask them if they would fix it, figuring they would ignore her. Well, I was wrong. They stood behind their work. They came over and built her a brand new gate at no cost. I was really impressed, and when/if I decide to put in a fence in my backyard, I’ll definitely be calling Picket Fence.
