I wouldn’t come back. The food was overpriced for its quality. I had the salmon which was okay. My husband had the trofie which was quite bland. The table near us was getting obnoxious, but they kept serving them alcohol anyway.

Went here for restaurant week to try a new close to home restaurant. Had a prosciutto, asiago and arugula pizzette which was excellent. However, the roasted duck over roasted pepper pasta was concerning. The duck was fine — medium rare duck breast. The pasta, while tasty was overcooked to the point of mush. No bite at all. My wife’s pan seared skate wing was good. While I might try this restaurant again, I would be very hesitant to try their pasta, even though advertised as homemade.

Visited for Valentine’s Day without a reservation which was fine because there were plenty of tables open. I’ll just say the service was outstanding and the room was tastefully redone since it’s previous incarnation as some other forgettable Italian restaurant. The food not so much. My wife’s expensive filet was rare at best though she asked pointedly for medium. Seems to be that medium has turned to rare these days. I had the pork braiscole with pasta. It was drowning in medza medza sauce. Most Italian restaurants give you too much food to finish, seems Vito has decided to buck the trend. And the salads were a la carte. No gimmies here.

Seated at 7:01. 7:15 waitress took order. apps… oysters, beat and orange salad. Entries.. Seabass, blackened grouper, ravioli traditional pizza. 7:40… apps came. One kid starving… asked for help… 7:45 pizza came for the food starved child, crisis averted. 7:57 entries came. wow… an hour? 25 people in restaurant. CHEF… WATCHYOURSERVERS… THEYCANMAKEYOULOOKREALLYBAD!!! Food was fantastic l. Bass was soon good a bit of crisp on top cous cous/Quinoa bed with mixed vegetables. Blackened grouper was soo smooth with a crispy rice patty. Butternut ravioli was excellent. Good food bad service. My review

I came to this restaurant last night for restaurant week with my mom. We know the owner and have been to his other restaurants before, but never this one, so I was curious to check this place out. We made a reservation for 6 pm and were seated promptly. Our server came over and immediately filled out water glasses and took our drink orders. He then proceeded to tell us that all food is cooked fresh and homemade… from their bread to the their pastas. Because it is restaurant week, we ordered from that menu(duh why wouldn’t we? Three courses for $ 20.15!). For my appetizer I chose the pizza which came with candied walnuts, apples, pears, Gorgonzola, and arugula. It was absolutely delicious… the cheese, which is normally overpowering(something I don’t mind) was balanced perfectly with the candied walnuts and fruit. So yummy, I had to force myself not to eat the whole thing. My mom got the autumn chopped salad which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. For our entrees, she of course, ordered the petite filet and I ordered the pork tenderloin. My pork was cooked perfectly and the fig demi glaze on top was divine. It came with mashed potatoes and honey glazed carrots. The carrots were a little crunchy for my liking… I prefer them to be a little more tender when they’re cooked and the honey glaze was a little sweet but I still enjoyed my dish! I tried my moms filet and it was also delicious, cooked perfectly. For dessert I ordered the tiramisu and I didn’t love it to be honest. The flavors were good but it was a little soggy. My moms peanut butter pie was rich, peanut buttery, and heavenly. The reason I took off a star was because the service was rather slow. It was pretty early in the night while we ate so they weren’t very busy yet. A half hour went by after our server dropped the check off to us and he never returned to cash us out. We actually had to ask a different server to take the bill to him. This was my only complaint on the evening. I would like to come back to try items on their regular menu!

Good points: food Bad points: service, rolls — RESTAURANTWEEKREVIEW — Vito e Vino restaurant is a medium restaurant located at the Transit Rd, East Amherst between Casey Rd and Clarence Center Rd. It is a medium restaurant with a cantina Italian style. However, I don’t recommend to bring small kids because they don’t have a menu for them and don’t offer anything to entertain our little ones. Stopping the car there it is not a problem at any time because their parking lot is big enough to accommodate all customers. When I went there on a Monday around 7:30pm, I found a spot very near from the door. The restaurant takes reservation. But I chose not to call because we decided in the last hour to go there. Said that, when we arrived there the maître said that a table would be ready in 5 minutes and left his desk. After 20 minutes, he came back and directed us to our table that was not ready and still had food from the previous customer. The menu has enough options to suit all tastes. But this time we opted for the local restaurant week menu. And even being a reduced menu, it still pleases everyone. We asked for Stuffed Meatball and Pizzeria, Petite Filet, Tiramisu and Homemade Gelato. All course foods were delicious. Unfortunately, the only two complains about my whole food experience was: the rolls were cold inside and when I saw the homemade gelato I was expecting more than one flavor and the only flavor available was Key Lime. Beyond that, I still remember the delicious taste of the pancetta cream sauce in my mouth. The experience with the waiter was not the best, I recognize that he was very friendly. But it took a long time to refill our drinks, to bring the check and to get the credit card back for us to leave what does not justify because the restaurant was not even busy. So after spending around $ 20.15 per person, I consider that the experience for the food was very worth for the money but not the service. What was a downgrade from the times that I went to dinner there on 2014. It’s place that maybe I will go back after another year or if a friend calls me to again. — Good for kids: NO Good for big groups: NO Enough parking spots to everyone: YES

Great service — waiter was very thoughtful and attentive. Asked if we were in a rush or not, which was nice because we wanted to have a leisurely dinner. Overall, the food was very good. We especially liked the«mozzarella bar» appetizer — fresh and yummy and very well presented. We also enjoyed the arrancini and butternut squash ravioli. We would definitely return, which is a good sign!

Just simply want to say, my husband and I loved it! The food was amazing. Clams casino, stuffed meatballs, salads, and the entrees, all flavorful and delicious. I have to mention, our waiter Glenn. very knowledgeable of the menu, and attentive. He did make our dining experience enjoyable. I would definitely go back and request Glenn!

GETTHECLAMS; I figured I should start all my reviews with the most important message because, if you’re like me, you don’t really want to read the whole detailed review… But seriously. get them. L O V E this place! Great food, great service, great environment The restaurant is pretty big and the environment is a «good feel». They have a huge bar and they have outside seating in the summer. I lovvveeee seafood so I was hoping this would be love at first bite(because its close to home). I try something different every time and I have loved every thing I tried. They have a smaller menu, in my opinion, but so many good options to choose from. We get the CLAMS every time we go and every time they are the best clams we’ve ever had. Perfect size and perfect texture. but I guess every clam lover is a little different with their preferences– but to us, these clams are perfect :) I haven’t tried the pizzas’ yet, but they are next on my «to eat» list. The service is very good and all the waiters/waitresses we’ve had were very nice. The one time we ordered the wrong appetizer(we ordered raw clams on accident). When they came we were like uhhh… this isn’t right. but we felt bad because we are the ones who messed up, not our waiter. So we both tried one(first time eating raw clams for the both of us!), and we hated it. When our waiter came back we told him we didn’t mean to order these and he was super nice and understanding; he took them back and brought new ones(cooked) without any complaints. Some restaurants/waiters would not have been so kind– we were very grateful! So overall this is probably in my top 3 favorite restaurants. Would definitely recommend to try ! :)

The restaurant has a beautiful comfortable atmosphere. I am not a freshly-made food fiend but I like the idea. The chef sounded passionate about Italian food. The gelato had good texture and strong pistachio nutty taste. The raw oyster I tried was fresh, meaty and sweet. I didn’t find anything too extraordinary. But I had a good time here with my co-workers. I would recommend this as a nice place for a date(not for anniversaries) or group events. We are thinking about ordering pizza from here occasionally when we have lunch hour conferences.

Lindsay, Mom and I came here last month, during restaurant week. I would like to return on a regular day, because I really don’t think you can give a fair review during Restaurant Week. That being said, I thought the courses they were offering for the $ 20.14 price were pretty generous. Obviously, there was the option to just order off the regular menu as well. We decided to try the 20.14 offerings. The restaurant décor is warm and upscale but not gaudy. We sat at a booth that seemed to be facing out into the whole restaurant and kind of in a weird place. But that wasn’t the biggest deal to me. I wish I could remember our server’s name, because he was fantastic! I would request him any day. Service was very quick and efficient and left nothing to be desired. I started with the margherita pizza for my first course, and it was just ok– not bad, but just not any flavor to it. Also it could have been the whole meal itself. That’s ok, I had extra to take home. For my second course, I had bucatini pasta, which I actually thought was great. I liked the texture of the pasta and I thought the red sauce had a good flavor to it. My main course was the best though– lobster cannelloni– which is on their regular menu. I thought it was delicious– crepes filled with lobster, crab and ricotta cheese. They were baked and topped with cheese and a creamy sauce. I would go back for this for sure. Overall good experience and I would definitely like to go back again

Not worth your time or money. i wouldn’t go back again When they explained to us that everything is freshly made and they open the kitchen very early to start preparing the ingredients, i expect an over the top dishes, me and my friend shared the shrimp risotto and stuffed chicken parmigiana, the taste is one dimension, nothing special, kinda bland! had to add tons of salt, black pepper and parm cheese to enhance the flavor! over cooked pasta! not cheap at all for such quality! around 25 $ per person with no appetizer, dessert or alcohol! after going home, i checked my bank status and they charged me and my friend the whole bill amount although we split it… so instead of 50 $ divided by 2, each of us was charged 50 $!! not bad service

Very conflicted on how to write this one because really the food wasn’t terrible, but it’s expensive for what it is. I only came for Restaurant Week, which sometimes isn’t the best way to experience the authenticity of the food. I made a reservation earlier in the week since we were coming for my mom’s birthday dinner. No problem getting in. The space is really nice inside. We were seated at a weird booth though, which for 3 people was odd and totally uncomfortable. They had asked if we wanted a table instead and I should have said yes. The booth is probably perfect for 2 people but odd for 3. The bread they brought to the table was good, but they need seasonings and Parmesan in the oil and balsamic plate. Or the option of butter. The«dip» was bitter both because of the olive oil and balsamic. We all ordered off of the $ 20.14 menu. Mom and I got clams casino to start. Meh, truly nothing special. Small too. Jamie got a small pizza. It looked great but she said it was flavorless. Weird. Second course, mom and Jamie got bucatini, I got Vito’s chowder. The bucatini was good, though kind of mushy. Their sauce tastes very heavy on red wine. This may be the way Italians from Puglia make sauce, but my mom learned the Sicilian way, so that’s what I’m used to eating. I’m not a big fan of the sauce tasting like red wine. Again, it’s bitter to me. The chowder, eh. Nothing special at all. No seasoning. Maybe 3 medium sized clams, but no other seafood. Though the description boasts fish and maybe shrimp or scallop. I found neither. Eh. Third course, I got petit filet, mom pork brasciole, and Jamie got lobster cannelloni. My steak was a nice piece and perfectly cooked, though i don’t think it had any seasoning on it. The mashed potato with was meh, but I loved the chef’s veggies which included a leafy green, thin carrots, peppers, and onion. Perfectly cooked(not overdone) and well seasoned. Mom’s brasciole was pretty gross. Rubbery, not appetizing to even look at… Just… No. The polenta was good but the meat, yuck. Jamie loved her cannelloni and I thought it tasted good, but perhaps a bit fishy. Our waiter was really great as were the rest of the staff. The food overall though left a bit to be desired. Not sure I’ll be back but I’m glad we came here and tried the food. I feel like this place has good potential, if a few things are tweaked to make the food more unique and less geared for wealthy old people. I’ve always liked the Rizzo’s restaurants. Hoping this one might improve a bit into the future.

They boast their homemade pasta and cheeses, both of which were disappointing. The homemade pasta was overcooked and mushy. The burrata was more like a solid lump of mozzarella, no creamy ricotta-like inside at all. 2 of the 6 oysters were filled with shells that we had to spit out. The special rosemary crusted tuna had absolutely no rosemary on it whatsoever. The place is lovely, and the service was excellent.

3rd visit… they now are open at 12:30 on Fridays for lunch. I left work early, picked up my wife and we shared a pizza and Wild Boar Bolognese at the bar… excellent! Great service, friendly bar tender. Enjoyable late lunch early dinner. Highly recommend.

My fiancé and I and his parents went to Vito E Vino for the first time last week… DELICIOUS! Cocktails were great, service was great, and the chef even came out a couple times to make sure we loved our appetizers and all of our other dishes. We had 2 orders of the Vito’s Oysters to start and they were so good! There aren’t many or any other restaurants around here who make anything similar to this or an oysters rockafeller type dish. We almost ordered more, but with a shared order of Fritto Misto(FANTASTIC as well!!), bread, and our soups/salads we would have been too full to eat out meals. I ordered a Halibut fish special– We ALL agreed that our dishes(including Frutti di Mare, Cloppino, and the Rainbow Trout) were super tasty. We will definitely be coming back– It will be a hard decision on what to try next :)

I recently went to Vito E Vino for the first time and had a good experience. We had the Fritto Misto, Vito’s Oysters and Oysters in the Half Shell, which were all very good. We also enjoyed the Bianca Mare pizza and the Salmon. To finish our meal, we enjoyed a delicious piece of cheese cake with strawberries. I would definitely go back to Vito E Vino.
