Billy’s Famous Root Beer in Ringoes(Formerly Stewart’s Drive-In) Having been a fan of Stewart’s for many years I was skeptical about even trying this place. I had a burger, fries and a hot dog. As far as burgers go I have had better but it was prepared the way I asked and the service was speedy and attentive,(This is always a good thing!) And then again the better burgers cost more then twice as much! So it was a good burger for the money! I would not have written a review but this place is worth mentioning and visiting! The menu should suit just about any taste from fish to Mediterranean! and Salads. What makes this place stand out is it has a PET Lounge! Outside of course and that is special. It is a small area but if expanded this could become a major stop for pet owners(Dogs not fish, birds, reptiles or gorillas. :) They have a wide assortment of seating! Outdoor picnic tables, indoor benches or indoor chairs if you prefer. If they can manage crowds well this will become a great place to stop when in the Flemington /Ringoes area. My only hope is the shakes are not to die for or I will never loose any weight. I will be back and will update this review again. PS Billy your off to a Great Start! Root Beer could be a little sweeter but that is personal taste.

Had a California bacon burger and cheese fries — hubby had two bacon cheese dogs. All delicious and fresh tasting. Service was fast and friendly! Would recommend!

The soft serve has no taste. The root beer is watered down. Save your money and take your business somewhere else.

I LOVE this place. The reason why I did not give it five stars is we had the unfortunate experience of the proprietor charging us the wrong price for our food. When we pointed it out instead of apologizing she argued with us and we had to go back a second time to let her know that we were right. She ultimately apologized but it was a bit sketchy. OK so — — lesson there check your bill, but other than that this place is AWESOME! They have a diverse inexpensive menu. All of the items that I have had have been wonderful and all of the entrees are served with soup. It is enjoyable to sit outside and eat and as a pet lover I love that they have something called a pet lounge. If my boyfriend and I happen to be driving by this place we always stop by to check it out.

Billy’s Famous Root Beer of Ringoes(formerly Stewart’s Drive-In) is a casual drive-in restaurant located along US202/NJ 31 South at the Hampton Corner traffic signal/jughandle. While driving along US202 through Central Jersey on a hot and sunny day, I made a pitstop for some lunch at Billy’s Famous Root Beer. I love stopping at classic American drive-in restaurants for some tasty road food. The place was fairly busy around 1PM when I pulled in. For lunch, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana Sub($ 6.25 plus tax) with fries, slaw, and a bowl of homemade soup and a Large Root Beer Float($ 4.65 plus tax). The homemade Italian beef vegetable soup served very hot in a ceramic bowl had a mix of vegetables, chunks of tender beef steak and al dente shell pasta in a flavorful tomato broth. This homemade soup was excellent and I need that recipe for this feel good soup! The rest of the food was ready in about 13 minutes with my number called out, pick up tray of food from counter. The baked chicken parm sub had breaded chicken tenders covered with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese on a firm Italian sub roll, served open. The golden fries were hot and crispy. The small cup of minced slaw was sweet and milky. The Large Root Beer Float(32 oz cup) was very refreshing & sweet, filled with Stewart’s Root Beer and a good amount of vanilla soft serve ice cream, float topped up over the cup. Overall, this was solid good drive-in food, which I really enjoy stopping for on my long road trips. The food did take a while to come out(the place was busy) and the food was served hot & fresh when ready. That homemade bowl of soup with my lunch is a huge plus!
