I am SO disappointed! I wanted to love this place but after breaking 3 nails the day after I just got them done, I cannot leave a good review for Cielo Salon in East Aurora however, the overall atmosphere is fantastic! All of the hair stylists that I observed during my visit were very nice and the customers appeared to be enjoying themselves. Walking in, I thought I’d found a gem of a place so close to my home. I was sorely mistaken.
Denise was my nail technician and I was willing to overlook the fact that she had the personality of a cardboard box but after these nails, I’m going to advise you to request anyone other than Denise for nails!
When I walked in, I had researched Gel overlay nails which is what I made the appointment for. When I told Denise that I wanted Gel overlays, first, she acted like she didn’t know that’s what my appointment was for, then she ended up talking me out of gel nails and talking me into silk wrap nails. I like a natural look as I do not like color on my nails and she suggested that silk looks the most natural. «Ok, let’s try it,» I said. I already had acrylic nails on which I wanted removed with new tips put on (I had filed my acrylics down shorter than I wanted to try and achieve a more natural look). Denise, didn’t want to take the old tips off (she said it was «basically pointless») so she proceeded to put the silk wraps on my old tips which were too short. I asked her if she could make them longer without applying new tips and she told me she could.
Long story short, all of the extended tips that she free-​formed over my old tips have cracked off as the silk material isn’t strong enough to act as a nail on it’s own (let me just add that I have done nothing but the usual daily things that girls do since leaving the salon so nothing to merit 5 broken tips within 24 hours!). You need the help of the tip or, at least, your own natural nail to keep the silk from cracking off. Had Denise put on new tips, I’d be a VERY happy girl right now as the natural look of the nails is just what I want. Instead, I’m writing a negative review on Unilocal for a place that would have otherwise gotten a really good rating from me :(
Take it from me, use someone other than Denise as your nail technician at Cielo Salon in East Aurora! You’ve been warned.

Schedule myself for a callus buster pedicure $ 60, wow don’t think I would come back. There was nothing special and I’ve gotten better pedicures that cost $ 25. They didn’t use anything special for the callus except for an exfoliate which many places use. There was barely a massage and this is the only place where they send you on your merry way without drying your nails. Mine ended up getting ruined two blocks down the road. Definitely not worth it.

Cielo is my favorite salon in the south towns. Everyone who works there is hospitable and happy, which makes the whole experience awesome. After trying to find a good hair dresser for years, I finally found Savannah. She always goes over with me exactly what I want my hair to look like and its come out perfect every time! I definitely recommend this salon!

Visited on a Friday after work. My stylist Sara was professional, friendly, and fast! She helped me decide the best cut for my type of hair. It looks awesome. I was very happy with the service. The salon was modern and very busy. I will definitely go back!

I wish you could give 0 stars for a place because if there is any place that deserves absolutely no stars, it’s definitely Cielo. I went to get my hair and makeup done for prom because I’m not normally one do go get my hair done all the time and thought it would be fun. This was in 2011 and the fact that I still remember this horrible experience shows how much they ruined my prom day. I had called about a week ahead to make an appointment. I had a coupon for a free condition and style from Ooo La La Boutique that I had planned to use for my hair. I explained this to the girl on the phone and read EXACTLY what the card said to her. I asked her if I could use that for my prom hairstyle and she had told me yes, no problem. So I get to my appointment and get in the chair and tell the girl I’m using the coupon, in case they forgot. She told me if I’m doing a prom hairstyle then they shouldn’t do the deep condition treatment because it takes a while and hair is easier to style when it’s atleast a day old. She never once explained to me that I would have to pay for the style and never gave me a price. The way she explained it sounded like they just would skip the condition, which I was fine with. So she does my hair in this half up half down style that I could’ve done myself, but seeing as, at the time I still thought it was free, I figured it was ok. It didn’t look horrible atleast. So then she goes and gets the makeup which, let me tell you, looked just like she threw all of the makeup she owns into this train case and brought it to work. It was so messy and the brushes were definitely not clean. Before she started the makeup, I had asked her how much it would be. She told me it would only be $ 25, which is a pretty good deal so I let her continue. Well I deeply regret that to this day. They have the lighting so dark in there that you can’t tell how the makeup looks really until you go home and look in better lighting or even just natural lighting. She used a foundation on me that was atleast 8 shades too dark. She never used primer or concealer so it didn’t even stay on well and it was already caking before I got home. It was an awful orange color too. She did a black smoky eye on top of that which was not blended at all! I never looked so ridiculous in my life! But of course I didn’t notice all this until I was already home because it’s too dark in there to see anything properly! Well then I go to the front to pay for my makeup and they inform me that it’s $ 85! I was absolutely shocked. They said that the hair cost $ 50 and the makeup was $ 35. I told them I had that coupon for my hair and she said that they didn’t do that. I told her what the girl who did my hair said and the girl at the desk said that «A style is only like straightening or blowdrying the hair. You got an updo». I was absolutley furious. I only brought $ 30 with me because I didn’t expect to be paying anywhere near $ 85. I had to call my mom and have her bring more money and see if she could talk some sense into these people. Well by this time the owner was at the desk to see what was going. Mind you, I never once raised my voice in the slightest or made a scene. I told the owner everything that happened right down to the phone call I had when I booked my appointment. She told me «Well I don’t know who you spoke with, but you got an updo which is different than a style». I explained to her that, if anything, I shouldn’t have to pay for the hair because they barely did anything with it and by not getting the deep conditioning, I actually saved them money because I didn’t use their product. She then offered to call the cops on me because I wouldn’t pay for the services I received. I never once said I wasn’t going to pay for it. All I said was that I had to call my mom to bring me more money. Once my mom arrived, she spoke with the manager and tried to negotiate a price. The owner said she can’t bring the price down at all. If you’re the owner of the place and you can’t bring the price down, then that pretty much says you have no authority whatsoever and are incompetent of doing you job. My mom then said we only had $ 74 and she seeemed very reluctant to take it, but she did, probably just to get rid of us. After all this was over I had to get home and rush to fix the disaster that was my «makeup» and put my dress on so I could get to prom in time. A few months later, my dad was in there fixing their phone and he introduced himself to the owner. He was just being a dad and wanted to get her side of the story and find out what happened. Well, she started off being extremely bitchy towards him as soon as she found out who he was and accused me of trying to scam them and not pay for my services and basically yelling at him for no reason. He promtly told her to find someone else to fix their phone and he left. Do NOT go to Cielo if you want an enjoyable beauty experience.

I’ve been to Cielo for a spa pedicure and a haircut/​color, and both services were fantastic. The people there were friendly and helpful, and I will definitely be back soon.
