I bought a groupon and was scheduled with Amanda. I think I finally found my new place. She did such a good job on my hair. I don’t have easy hair to cut and she was AWESOME

I have been coming here with my mother since I was a little girl, the salon itself is beautiful and they are constantly making upgrades. Everything is very clean and the staff here are so friendly and sweet. Donna the owner is just lovely! If you are lucky enough to have your hair done by her you are in wonderful hands. Kelly, who is fairly new is also fantastic at her craft and sweet as can be, definitely recommend her. I’ve gone to other places to get my hair done due to distance but always find myself disappointed and end up coming back here. It’s worth the trip!

As a local, I have passed this salon nearly every single day, and never really thought to try it. I have been going to a family friend to cut my hair for as long as I remember, but she was away on vacation, so I was looking for a salon to give a shot. I saw a groupon offer for a cut, blow-​dry, highlights and deep conditioning all for a great price, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I will admit the location is a little strange, but the salon itself is beautiful. The décor is very modern, very clean and has a lively «vibe» to it. I was incredibly nervous and skeptical at first, as this was my first time trusting someone new with my hair, but Yolanda did a FABULOUS job! My hair is very curly, thin and, unfortunately, dead, but she managed to bring it back to life! I cut off a few inches, and it feels thick, soft and it bounces as I move! The highlights look natural for my blonde hair and everything turned out even better than I had hoped. The owner made a point to introduce herself to me, and even helped the woman next to me decide what style would be best for her hair. I can’t wait to come back :)

I’m going to call this a hidden gem. I found a groupon and decided to spontaneously try it out. I was previously going to Ulta, but wasn’t able to get an appointment for several weeks (and let’s face it, I leave my hair until the last possible moment before an event). So I took a chance, and now I’ve found my new favorite place.
Kelly dyed, cut, and styled my hair. I’ve been waiting for someone to get the color just the right shade for a long time and it finally happened. The most nerve wracking thing is getting a cut. You can never really tell how it’s going to be until you wash it and style it on your own. This was probably the best cut I’ve ever received. It has so much body and feels so weightless.
I’m definitely going to return!

My sister and I went here after our mother got us groupons for Christmas. When I called up they offered appointments for us both at the same time and accommodated to our availability. The place is really small and in the middle of a strange shopping plaza but it was easy to find and google maps got us there without any issues. We were greeted right away, they hung our jackets and offered us a cup of coffee.
I had Amanda, she was wonderful! My hair was long and I wanted to see if it was long enough to donate. She triple measured it, hey you can never be too sure, cut it, bagged it and printed out the donation form for me. I was not rushed out of the salon at all, she took her time and gave me a beautiful cut. My visit was over 3 weeks ago and I am still getting compliments on my hair. The way Amanda cut my hair makes it so easy to manage, it falls right into place, looks great parted down the middle or off to a side. I am still totally in love with my cut and can’t help but check out my hair in the mirror every time I walk by.
I would have given this place a 5 star review but my sister was with me too and her experience was good, but not great like mine. My sisters stylist was supposed to be one person and ended up being another, then that person was late. The stylist offered a lot of helpful tips to my sister but as the appointment went on it was a bit much.
Overall we would go back and I definitely recommend Amanda to anyone trying out this salon for the first time.

Amanda did a great job on my hair. She really listened to what I wanted and understood perfectly! Was going to just get a cut but wanted highlights without having to get constant touchups so she recommended peekaboo highlights, which turned out looking amazing along with the angle cut. She gave me helpful advice for my hair without being pushy or overselling services. Definitely recommend!

I went in yesterday for first time after I got a groupon they are advertising. It was for a haircut, highlights, blow out and conditioning treatment. My appointment was with Jillian at 12:30. I only waited about 5 minutes. She was a sweetheart, and she’s a great hairstylist. I don’t trust many people with my hair, and I had some reservations about going to a new place. But she was awesome! She cut my hair the way I wanted it and got my color EXACTLY how I wanted it. Didn’t even have to use a toner to fix it. I would recommend her to everyone for sure. Great job.

Had a groupon, booked an appointment with Amanda. She’s a very busy lady. She did a good job in cutting my hair and gave me her opinion which was awesome.

I got a groupon for cut color and conditioning treatment with Amanda. She was fantastic. Listened to exactly what I was looking for and cut off just enough hair for it to feel healthy but also still long. She was just the right amount of chatty and we got along wonderfully. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. I’m new to the area and have gone back to see her twice she remembered everything from the last time we saw each other and did an amazing job!

I was looking for a new salon and came here with a groupon for the conditioning, cut, and color. I made an appointment with Jillian after reading other reviews and am so happy I did. She did a great job of incorporating everything I said into a beautiful cut and style. I have curly hair and have had some disastrous cuts before, so I’m always pretty weary; however, Jillian cut my hair perfectly! She was conservative yet also made me have a fresh look. I also never color my hair, as it is pretty dark, but wanted to try something new and was very happy! We only went a few shades lighter than my own color, so it looked very natural and was just what I was hoping for. Thanks, Jillian!

I bought a groupon deal for a single process, cut, and style for $ 29. I had Jillian as my stylist. I requested her due to the other Unilocal reviews I read. I set up my appointment less than a week prior and they were very very accommodating. I have a son who at the time was 4 months. I brought him with me and everyone was so so nice. I felt very comfortable. Jillian was great. Completely understood what I wanted. The only thing is the location is kind of weird. It’s on a back road parallel to route 18. With the quality of work and customer service it should definitely be in a better area. Will be back.

Came here for a cut, wash, and blowout. I scheduled an appointment extremely last minute and was lucky there were others that had cancelled due to the weather. Everyone working there was very sweet from hanging my jacket for me to offering me coffee and tea. The salon felt cozy and was clean.
My stylist was Amanda and she was very good at understanding what I wanted. I am very picky with haircuts Because I’ve had bad experiences in which they cut it way too short. She was very gentle and patient with my thick, long curly hair. Overall I was very pleased with the services.

To be honest, I picked this salon because of the positive reviews on Unilocal especially the one by Jessica on 10/​20/​2014.
I was looking to get a cut and color appointment for my mom — my mom, who has never, ever been to a salon. Since she was new to the salon world, I figured I could take her to some place new. As a college student surprising her mom, I knew a good cut/​color could hurt my bank, so opted to look at salons with groupons. I bought my groupon for a cut, color conditioning treatment, and blowout and made an appointment for that week.
I like to break down every part of the service received because I believe it is important — with 5 being the best, 1 being the worst.
1. Ease of booking an appointment — (⁵⁄₅). When I called, I was greeted happily on the other side. The receptionist was super patient with helping me find a time for my mom. And… I must have called three times after that to confirm my appointment time (since I forgot to write it down) and each time, whoever picked up was quick and super nice.
2. Phone etiquette — (⁵⁄₅) ^ Goes with the above. Plus, on my way there today, I got lost. Called the salon and they guided me and gave better directions than my GPS
3. Ambiance — (⁵⁄₅) Cute, friendly atmosphere that becomes even nicer with the people in it. My mom was given coffee as she waited for her color to settle in. The owner of the salon came out and introduced herself to us. She was overall very, very sweet and attentive — I overheard her talking to some of the other clients — and she went so far as to help some call for a cab to taking time out to get to know some. My nephew dropped some blue cookie they had all over me, so while I was trying to clean it off — the owner realized I needed napkins and had them brought to me.
4. The Stylist — (⁵⁄₅) My mom’s stylist was Jillian. My mom’s not fluent in English but does understand it. We all spoke about the color my mom wanted, and the length she wanted. Like the below review, I thought I would be getting sub-​standard service because I bought a groupon. It wasn’t. My mom was there for more than two hours with Jillian. At every stage of the appointment, Jillian would give me a quick update of how it was going. Even after the cut, Jillian decided to further style my mom’s hair with some fun curls. My mom absolutely loved her. The entire car ride home she kept saying how patient she was and how she treated her hair nicely.
All in all, my mom loves it – which in turn makes me love it. It was her first salon experience in her life, and she felt pampered going here. She called a few of her friends and told them about the salon already — which I thought was cute. She’s ecstatic about her hair and the experience she received.

I recently purchased a Groupon for a cut, color, conditioning treatment and blow out for Salon DP LoRana. The reviews were great and I was happy to get an appointment right away. When I had to reschedule, they were understanding and I also like that they called and gave me a reminder the night before.
Jill was my stylist for the day. I was greeted and given a cup of coffee in an adorable mug. She assessed my hair and I showed her a picture of my friend and she understood exactly what I wanted. I wanted to go dark brown for the Fall as well as add more layers and body to my hair. My hair beforehand was long and layered with the longest layer hitting my lower back, but lacked body. I also had remnants of ombré highlights at the ends that became too brassy and dry. I wanted to keep the length (which a lot of stylists in the past have had a hard time understanding!) but Jill was great. The cut and color are perfect and she took the time to blow it out, perfect the cut once dry, and style it with a flat iron. A lot of times Grouponers are rushed out and given subpar service, but this was not the case. I was there for over 2 hours and Jill made sure it was perfect. My hair still feels so soft from the treatment and looks so bouncy and healthy. When you can’t stop looking in the mirror and smiling, you know you found a winner. I definitely plan on going back!

My hairstylist retired so it was time to find a new one. I tried this salon based on the reviews and word of mouth. I couldn’t be more satisfied. Ana was my hairstylist and she did a fabulous job. She colored/​highlighted, cut and styled my hair. Ana is an extremely knowledgeable colorist and takes her time explaining the process. She was sooooooo patient with me since I was somewhat apprehensive about cutting my long hair. I even enjoyed getting my hair washed. Also all the staff was friendly and professional. They offered me coffee, water and even gave me some cookies. I will definitely be returning to see Ana.

This is my 3^rd time in one year coming back to Salon DP Lorana and working with Amanda — the ends of my hair were completely dead and i need a cut badly. I called a bit last minute but they were kind enough to fit me in. I chose to do a wash, cut and blow out. The wash for my hair was so good, it almost put me to sleep. Then she did my cut — I normally don’t like cutting my hair off more than 1-​inch but this time I cut about 3 – 4 inches off because my ends were dead. She took her time and no rush. My appt was at 9:30 and I was out of there by 10:15. She gave me such a nice blow-​out my hair was amazing and so soft. This is definitely my spot!

I really enjoyed my experience at the salon and I’m very happy with my haircut. I made an appointment with Patricia, but got a call that say that she was sick. I was happy that they called to see whether I wanted to reschedule or go with a different stylist… Some salons would just let you know when you arrived.
I was also happy that I wasn’t pressured into getting highlights or other coloring done. Donna mentioned a treatment that I might like but that I could think about it and make an appointment for next week to get it done before my honeymoon.
The only reason for 4 stars was because there were several interruptions while I was getting my hair cut. Donna is the business owner, so it is understandable.

If I could I would give zero stars. I was recommended to this salon but I find it very unsettling to see how terrible the service was for the price. I came with and exact picture of what I wanted and they gave me a hard time about my choice. And said if I wanted to get picked up at the jersey shore that’s what I should go with. The girls in there were rude and said terrible personal things about other clients. I would never go back to this place and recommend others do not waste their time trying out Salon DP Lorana… definitely would not recommend to anyone. Well maybe my worst enemy.

I had my hair done this morning at Salon DP LoRana by Amanda. It turned out amazing! She was so professional, accommodating and a true master of her craft. I showed her a photo of what I wanted, she explained to me the processes that we would use to achieve my desired look, and then we got started. During my 3 hour stay, Amanda kept asking, «Can I get you anything?» I felt so pampered! Not to mention my hair turned out even better than I had hoped for. The salon is beautiful and Donna, the owner, is a truly wonderful woman, always making you feel welcome. I had a fantastic experience at Salon DP LoRana and I will definitely be back!
