Excellent food! Good steak on the burrito and chille relleno taco was a full pepper. Hot sauce doesn’t have much heat but the strong garlic flavor makes up for it. Great décor and very friendly. Definitely a hidden gem!

they need to try a small lunch buffet, let people get what they want for a price around$ 10.00

This is an absolutely hidden gem of the best Mexican food I have had since I was last in San Diego.

You know when you have the craving for good Mexican food and you go to a Mexican restaurant, order something as simple as a carne asada burrito, and your highly disappointed??? You wonder to yourself how in world how in the world is it possible to mess up something as simple as burrito!!! How is it that it taste so bland how can you mess up beans meat cheese veggies and sour cream wrapped in a flour tortilla!?! How can you make that not tasty??? Well that has been my experience with all the Mexican restaurants in the East Chicago area that is until I came to this place.
They have good simple homie food done right. I’ve tried a number of things and have never been disappointed my favorite however is the chicken caldo that has a little bit of chipotle in the broth. Yes they are generous with the chicken not that the chicken even matters bc they are so generous with the veggies that chicken is just another ingredient. They add potatoes, carrots, squash, and something that I’ve never found outside of my moms cooking which is chayote (I’m sure that’s misspelled). And the rice they have here is awesome it has a very distinct flavor it’s just good get it OK.
The place is very very clean. The décor is so freaking cute! They have a bunch of little Mexican nic-​nacs all over the place with out it being stuffy.
My one and only complaint is that other than the first server I got, Anna which knew the food, was very attentive, and pleasant, (I saw her interacting with another table which seemed to love her) the other two girls suck!!! I’m mean they are terrible! I was greeted by one of them with a «oh hey» and a look that seemed like she didn’t know I was there for duh… Food yes I want a menu! I didn’t quite remember the name of the caldo I ordered the fist time and I described it to her and she had no freaking clue what I was talking about and she seemed more interested in continuing her conversation with her companion than to finish taking my to go order.
Owners or management or cooks or who ever cares in the slightest train your servers! Make sure they know how to greet your customers, that they smile when customers walk in, that is pleasant and above all make sure they know the goddam menu it’s Mexican food for fuck sakes it’s not that hard. It would be a shame to lose such a great restaurant bc the servers don’t know how to sell the food and describe how delicious it is. I get it it’s slim pickings in the area when it comes to good employees and you can’t teach common sense but these girls need some guidance, help, and a little study time with the menu and the cooks!
This place still deserves the 5 star rating. You can tell by the taste and presentation of the food that it was prepared with dignity and love.

We went on a weds pretty much empty. Waitress was awesome even tho they got my order wrong but I’m not picky. Décor was cute! Food was awesome ! I like the soup they give before hand. Guacamole was on point! Delish! And the salsa was good too! Paying was awesome cuz they had the apple square so that was pretty cool. Overall loved the place they stay open late and will be coming back move often ! Parking sucks but we had parking right in front of the bank no prob.

Exceeded my expectations! The food was delicious. The place was extra clean, service was stupendous, and the Decour really made it feel like a nice cozy Mexican restaurant. If you are a foodie and are looking for a good joint in the east side to Munch on some authentic Mexican food then this is the place for you. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent service! For Appetizers we had guacamole, they made without jalapeños for my kids. (loved that it was made to order) we also had a choriqueso yummy as well. I had the Huarache de bistec/​steak first time having something like this and it was very good! Sort of like a open burrito my dad had the pozole blanco good as well. Will definitely be back!
