We dined there tonight for the first time in probably more than a year. New owner, Mary was gracious and welcoming. We shared clams casino as an appetizer. It was really good, the clams were little necks and spicily filled and served steaming hot. Our small fishfry’s were beer battered served with a potato choice of house made French fries, baked potato, sweet baked and German potato salad. The menus is small but up to date for a countryside restaurant. They do serve a traditional English Tea for groups and apparently also monthly. The next public on a Saturday Oct. 24 We will return. Props to Chef Kevin!

The bartender was cool, the food was ok, the wive was adequate, the fire and it’s tender stunk. I have passed the Fireside Inn many times while driving to Ellicottville, I always wanted to stop but never had the time. This past Sunday, after a wonderful time cross country skiing in Sprague Brook Park, my wife and I stopped in for a glass of wine and a small bite. We were hoping to sit by a warm fire, but were disappointed. I threw a log on the fire and was scolded by an employee. In short, the whole experience felt lame. I hope to try again and have a better experience, but for now, I’ll just go home.

I’ve been to the Fireside Inn a few times and it has been excellent each time. The service is great, Tammy has been our server twice and she is very friendly. On a recent visit my boyfriend and I sat at the bar and ordered food and were taken care of just as well. The bartender was nice and very knowledgable with drinks. I had an amazing pomegranate martini at his suggestion and it was exactly what I was in the mood for without knowing it! As some of my other reviews mention, my boyfriend is allergic to wheat and because of that, I am always on the look out for gluten-free options for him. The Fireside is awesome about this. We were able to order GF calamari and GF New England clam chowder — two things my boyfriend hasn’t had in years — he was delighted. There are lots of options and it’s always nice to know that a place will be sensitive to dietary needs. I am not gluten-free, and I love carbs and there are plenty of options for me as well. Last night I had the French onion soup and chicken parmesan and both were excellent. The cheese on the FO was PERFECT! The portion sizes are really generous. I was only able to finish half of my chicken parmesan which is fine with me; leftovers are pretty much my favorite. Especially for the portion sizes, the prices are more than fair. Although the Fireside Inn is a little off the beaten path, it’s definitely worth the drive. My boyfriend and I make it a point to stop here when we are in the area.

My wife and I just got back from the worst dinner there ever. The waitress named Marcia made us feel unwelcomed their. It took 20 min for a drink order, after she was snarky about my wife asking for water. She only asked us twice on how we were. When she did, I had my mouth full and couldnt tell her my prime rib was way under done because she ran away right after my wife said fine. She treated everyone else around us way better. When we go out their we usually spend a lot. However we left with full plates in a to go box, and she didnt bother to ask why. Shinning light is I talked to the soon to be owner as of monday and she was great. She genuinely seemed concerned and very apologetic. I really hope this geats taken care of.
