Overall, an ok library. I like how they are pushing the self check out more than most libraries.

Great library nice staff and awesome FREE DVD selection, ive rented some great movies and books at this place!

This is a small but decent library. There are some things I like and somethings I don’t like. Here goes:
1) It is very small with a limited stock of books, music and audio material (don’t like)… but by going to their online site and using Bistro, you can access materials from other small library systems like Crystal Lake, Algonquin etc. It’s rare that I can’t get what I want in a reasonable amount of time (like).
2) They have an online prescence (like), but the Bistro catalog is poor at best. You have to «logon» over and over to place holds, look at your accounts etc., and sometimes how you get to where you want to go is confusing (don’t like). Also — if you don’t remember to specify, search limits itself to that library — I’d rather it default to all libraries — but that may be personal preference, so it’s «ok».
3) *Some* of the people on the front desk are a bit clueless. (Sorry… and don’t like). Some of them are great (like). My thought there is «you reap what you sow», so approach with kindness and you will get kindness back — not a bad deal.
4) They don’t carry enough music or books on tape. (Don’t like). They carry music and books on tape. (Like)
5) Hours are not great — some nights they close at 5:00, and have limited weekend hours. I work full time so I can’t get there some days when I would like to. (don’t like). It’s free! (like.) I save a lot of money borrowing books instead of buying them. (Ok — I do pay taxes and taxes do fund it — but still! It’s a good deal.)
6) If you pay attention (on line, or in mailer) they have some great free «classes» where you can get exposure to cultural dance, PCs, arts etc. (Like). Some of these sessions are better than others… so pick and choose.
7) They have «modernized» the library card, so now you get a cool little key tag so you don’t have to hunt for your card all the time. (Like).
Soooo — good and bad, but definately much more good than bad — it’s solid, and I use it all the time.
Recommend: Yes — but I tell people about online Bistro catalog, as it adds more value.

on this update, you don’t deserve any stars, EVER.
So many problems here, so little typing room. For the ah, umpteenth time (THAT is alot) I (customer) call you (vendor) to put some healthcare books I desperately need for a healthcare issue I am having on the side. Circulation person answering the phone tells me two books are available and will put them out for me to be picked up in two hours.
Upon arriving…(mind you I am not supposed to be driving) I find out… AH! no! no books there, there are none available. And to top it off the person behind the desk is loud and rude.
IF, just IF this was the first time it happened, or say, I didn’t need it desperately, I would just blow it off. WRONG… All of you people need to get new jobs
