I think this is the most distcusting, run down, and under staffed walmart I have ever seen! Luckily this place is moving to Carpentersville and will close in a few months Until this place closes it is worth a drive to Target in Hoffman Estates or to the Walmart in Algonquin.

Can’t stand this Walmart. They have so many registers yet only 2 open at a time. Staff is so rude. So dirty & ghetto

This is the worst Walmart ever. It’s so incredibly dirty and ghetto looking. Whenever I do come here, I always leave the store stressed and annoyed(because I can’t wait to get the hell out of there). Avoid at all costs!

Tried to look for some foot scrub to pretty up my tired feet… left empty-handed. Granted, this isn’t exactly in the best location, but seriously, even this gives Wal-Mart a bad name. The shelves look like they’ve been ransacked by looters. Why does this place always look like it’s closing? #whatadump

This walmart is honestly such a joke of an establishment. Its dingy, unorganized and nobody seems to know how to even spell the word ‘mop’ at that place. I am a walmart girl at heart. When I moved out of my parents I was a regular shopper at the location in algonquin. To me that store is always clean and has what I need. This one however never has anything I need. The staff there is GHETTO. With a capital G. I went in to return something(ONEITEM… WITHMYRECIPT) and a very rude employee said«yall have to wait til mornin» luckily a MANAGER was standing right there and seemed disgusted by her behavior(I hope the employee got written up) but the manager did take care of me. The registers were packed with people and the manager did not care or step in to open a register to manage the steady flow of people.(A real manager helps where is needed). The parking lot is another joke. Filled with potholes and SKETCHY people. I feel like I should lock my steering wheel because the video surveylance(sp?) they have is questionable. Even though I do live about 5 minutes away from this walmart I do and will drive the extra 15 minutes to go to the one in Algonquin. Honestly avoid this place. I feel like I have to shower everytime I leave from there. Awful staff and even worse enviornment to shop in!

I’m definitely a Walmart shopper! However, this Walmart is so run down and dirty its ridiculous. They do not have a good selection and only the older workers seem to be friendly. Its just strange that this Walmart is now this bad when all of the other Walmarts in the area are just fine.

This is one of the times I wish I could give negative stars. This Walmart is so bad that even the people ‘featured’ on the People Of Walmart website go, «Daaaang! The people are weird here.» Avoid this location like the plague!

Run away people! The first and only time I’ve visited this Walmart was out of necessity – my grandma wanted to buy a laptop for a decent price and this, THIS location was the ONLY place that had it(and I even made sure to check Best Buy, Target, Radio Shack, etc). Anyway, I was dreading the drive there because I heard horror stories from this place and boy were they right! First off, the greeter was cranky! I instinctly smiled and all I got was a frown. Not even a nod of acknoledgment. Seriously? Are you not aware of your title? Then I see the sea of people – it was insanely busy, and I mean busy! People left and right and all I kept thinking was, «why?!» The place is a dump! Merchandise and dirt everywhere! I hurried to the electronics section only to find one person working there and she was on a register with a long line. Sigh. No time for browsing because I had to get in line plus people with carts and only two items in them plagued the small aisles, not to mention the loud, unattended children«demo-ing» the game consoles. The only good thing about this whole experience was the cashier. She was very nice and attentive. However, that was only one staff member. I was glad I was able to check out there because I could not imagine standing in line at the regular check outs and having to deal with the nosy and annoying customers yapping about nonsense and perhaps even the stressed/angry cashiers who had to deal with those customers. Never again.

I’m a Target girl at heart, so a Walmart’s really gotta bring it if it’s gonna stand a chance at impressing me. With the recent flurry of Walmart Supercenters popping up everywhere, I’ll admit that I actually do enjoy doing my grocery shopping at certain locations. Of course I’m talking very specifically about the brand-spanking-new, 24-hour convenient, clean and creepy-clientele-free locations. This Walmart is NOT one of those locations. I repeat. NOTONEOFTHOSELOCATIONS. Seriously, go elsewhere. Though this may be the most geographically convenient location to me — I’ll gladly drive the extra fifteen minutes to Algonquin or even twenty to Huntley for some peace of mind. I only visit this sad representation of the Walmart brand when absolutely necessary — which usually is when I’ve just realized that I’m one ingredient short of a whole recipe(and cannot spare much time). And even then — disappointment is almost sure to ensue. On a recent occasion, I needed another box of cake mix. Easy enough, right? I pushed my way through dirty, crowded, screaming-children-filled aisles to get to the«baking» section(in quotes, because this was BARELY passable as such) — only to find that selection was limited to one brand and only two flavors. Oh, and someone had knocked over a box and run over it with a cart — littering the already nasty floor with cake mix. Perfect-o. Sigh. Avoid this Walmart if you can. But if you must visit — come prepared with hand sanitizer and lowered expectations.

While the Wal-Mart slogan is «Always Low Prices», the slogan for this particular store should be «Always Low Standards». Just because I used to reside a few miles from here and it was conveniently located within a reasonable driving distance did I go here. If I didn’t need to grab some last minute item that I didn’t feel like paying a fortune for at Jewel, or I didn’t have the energy to drive to Target, I wouldnt have found myself at this garbage dump. Dingiest Wal-Mart I have ever encountered. Not a single thing in this store is organized, nobody ever seems to be willing to take time out of their non work related conversation with a fellow employee to assist, and everything from the shelves to the floors are dirty. Don’t even think about trying to shop here during the winter, unless your place of employment offers paid sick time, because there is a good chance you will fall and break your neck due to the lack of attention paid to the brown slush that covers the entire store floor. I even had to wait 15 minutes at the entrance once just for someone to bring in carts. Good thing I didn’t have any pressing engagements that day because if I did I would have walked out the door along with the other 5 – 6 patrons standing along side me. Every Sunday the place is so packed you will drive around for an hour trying to find a spot to park and another hour standing in line to check out — so there’s a good chance that this money making machine will not be shut down. They make money, and that’s the Wal-Mart way. Dirty, dingy, and delayed… but the cash registers are still juking, so on lives the legacy.

It’s very unusual for me to rate anything that isn’t a restaurant, and it’s even more strange that I would pick a Walmart to write about, but this place is an absolute dump. I’m writing this in hopes that someone in their higher ups will read this and do something, ANYTHING to help out this rats nest that they claim is a «Walmart». First off if you make it through the swamp of people brag-aiding the front lot you will find yourself greeted at the front not by welcome staff but rather the stench of sewer. I’ve been there a handful of times out of necessity or emergency and have been graced by this horrid aroma on quite a few occasions. The stale lighting doesn’t enhance their lack of organization or lack of stock on anything for that matter. The cosmetic isle is a complete disaster and if, IF you manage to find whatever you came in for, good luck find someone to check you out. They either are extremely short staffed or have lazy management because there is rarely more then 3 registers open,(one being a 20 item of less checkout). Finally the parking lot, ohhhh the putrid parking lot. It’s loaded with garbage, I have even found used dirty diapers just rolled up and left there ONMORETHENONEOCCASION. To wrap things up, I must say this is a foul establishment that needs to be burned to the grown and rebuilt from scratch. I’d rather drive 20 minutes out of my way to go to a Walmart in another town then go to this one which a few minutes away. FORSHAME!

This is consistently the worst Wal-mart I have ever been to. The store is dirty and dingy, the staff is lazy, the shelves are barely stocked, and even then they are an utter mess. I actually feel a little grimy after a five minute shopping trip. There are never enough cashiers for the amount of customers, but there are plenty of staff members standing around chitchatting in various parts of the store. Some spend time on their cellphones. They must be the loaners. Do yourself a favor and avoid this store!

I’ve been here a few times before and found it to be more run-down and dirtier than other Wal-Marts. The other Wal-Marts in the area are cleaner and nicer. This Wal-Mart stinks, literally. When I stepped in the store, I encountered a fart smell. This smell permeated the whole store. And no, it wasn’t me cutting the cheese. In the toys section, I smelled feces. And no, I did not poop my pants. The smell was nasty. I had come to the store to buy a rubber snake(don’t ask). I found a box of rubber snakes on the shelf and started going through the box to see the different patterns and colors they had available. I touched one snake and noticed it was sticky. Some stupid kid had stuck some pink bubble gum or candy on it. I found most of the snakes had this sticky crud on them. I had enough and left the store. A dirty, stinky store with dirty merchandise. I won’t be coming back to this location.
