I give this restraint no stars. This is not a Chinese restraint at all, the cooks, wait staff and I think the owner is Mexican. The food ranges from bad to horrible all the time. The place of dirty and the waitresses find it more important to roll spoons and forks in napkins than to refill water or remove dirty dishes from the table. AWFULL!

I think this is as good as it gets in town if you want Chinese. I will not say food is terrible by any means but it’s fair for the other options in the area. The fried rice is just white rice with a little soy on it. My tofu delight had a tiny amount of water chestnuts but mostly broccoli and cabbage. The tofu was generous. I had to ask for everything from a small plate for appetizers to soy sauce. There is no hot tea listed on menu but they do have oolong just ask for it. The Hispanic waitress didn’t even know how to pronounce it. Now that I notice the whole staff is Hispanic in a Chinese restaurant. The hostess even said gracious when someone left. Lol! It’s usually pretty empty in the dining room. But they do a lot of take out. I e ordered here a couple of times and sometimes it’s good and once I threw it away. But anything is better than the buffet down the road.

Great food, great service, reasonably priced. Walnut Shrimp in Birds Nest was great! Can’t wait to go back !

We just ate dinner here tonight. It was excellent! The potstickers were freshly made and delicious. My husband had the Happy Family, it was fresh, generous portion and so tasty. I had the General Tao’S Chicken, it too was so good! We will definitely be back! If you are anywhere in North Georgia, you have to eat here! The owner is so friendly and attentive! Happy Family II is a must in Ellijay!

We were in Elijay for a few nights and ordered some Chinese take out. I got the impression the guy that took our order was the owner and he was wonderful. The food was delicious and when we go back to Elijay then we will definitely return!

Sad Family is more like it. Food is watery, over cooked, and bland. No problem with the service, but this food is tough to stomach unless you are ignorantly hungry. I will be posting pictures. They speak for themselves.

We were greeted by a very friendly lady as we arrived. The restaurant sits in very vacant strip mall in the right corner. There was only one other couple, but before we left there were about 15 folks eating. We had the wonton soup to start– with amazing crunchie noodles, it was tasty and not salty, but pretty typical, though the wonton’s were rather large. We also each had an egg roll… they are large, so you could actually split one if you wanted to. I ordered the House Special Chow Mein filled with shrimp, chicken, pork and beef. The dish was very tasty. My friend ordered the Peking Vegetables… which were also tasty. The owner is a delightful gentleman who definitely cares that his customers are happy. Total bill for two, no alcohol, was about $ 25.00. A great experience that I would recommend.

This is the office’s «go-to» take out place! We love everything at Happy Family. First, the owner is the sweetest & happiest man you will ever meet! I cannot imagine him upset– He is always smiling and laughing. Great positive vibe. Very attentive wait staff & service. Now, the food. The prices are SOCHEAP. The lunch special is like $ 6. That includes an entrée, fried rice, & egg roll. I must add the hot & sour soup($ 1.50) is one of the best that I have ever had. The Sesame chicken is great and so is the Hunan chicken. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for Chinese. We love this place!
