I saw the good reviews so I figured i’d give it a try. Ordered a chicken cutlet with lettuce, tomatoes, and peppers. The roasted peppers were slimy and cold, the sandwich itself came out in two mins which is a scary thing and then as I payed i see the dreaded microwave which was clearly the way my sandwich was cooked. Chicken tasted disgusting. Luckily i bought a bag of chips as well. Idk if it was a random bad experience or if this place is just this terrible usually. Never going back!

What amazing sandwiches. The owner is so sweet and makes all sandwiches sound like works of art. This place is a neighborhood institution, and they really don’t make bodegas like this anymore. Sometimes when I am up late at work I day dream about a sandwich from here. Bravo!

I love ordering their sandwiches for lunch, I plan to try one of everything on their menu. They have everything a deli should have, cookies, sandwiches, a great selection of deli meats, sodas. If I lived in the neighborhood, I’d definitely go there more often. I order from there all the time and I haven’t been disappointed at all. Get the Chicken Cordon Bleu or Steak Sandwich!

I work in the area and as anyone who has been there knows there is very little aside from the residential units around. I love this deli because they are one of the few throwbacks to what New York used to be… tough, but welcoming. It probably is due to the owner, Rosalie, who has been in business for over 50 years. Some famous people have visited it as seen with the pictures she has up. She is a classy lady with a tough girl attitude… so what made New York great before all the out of towners came in. Aside from Rosalie’s charm and no nonsense attitude, the sandwiches here are great. I usually get either the chipotle chicken or the buffalo chicken on rye. Asking for it to be «loaded» means adding lettuce, tomato, cheese and condiments. The whole thing is freshly made and to custom if you want it like most small business shops. The value is great as it is about $ 3.75 or so for a sandwich on rye bread. Rolls and hero sandwiches are more. You don’t get these prices nowadays and her connection with the neighborhood has people coming to her since the Korean War. Stop in if you want a quick bite to eat for cheap on your way to Home Depot or Bed Bath and Beyond which are both down the street. Beats the chains and their processed nonsense.
