The Sommelier – Your Wine & Liquor Expert

I’m not really a hard liquor drinker (anymore lol) so I’m glad there is a local place to buy a nice bottle of wine when I visit my parents house. The store is on the smaller side and has a nice uncluttered look to it. I walked in and the person working the store that evening was immediately welcoming, he introduced himself as Mike. I asked him for a recommendation on a Riesling as well as a Pinot Grigio, I’m just really learning the differences between the different types of wines and he described the tastes of the wines to me and I was able to figure out from his choices what I thought would suit me best. He offered me chilled bottles versus hot and was genuinely just a nice guy who made easy conversation while I finalized my purchase. I chatted with him a little more to let him know that he should go on Unilocal to update his business info and write back to som of the people who believe this location is still closed. I REALLY hope that this store does well and stays open, it’s so nice to have a store close by with good wine and friendly service. Thank You Mike :-)…

I’d seen this place coming for a few weeks before it opened and I was happy because I wouldn’t have to walk as far as I normally do to get my spirits. When it finally DID open I was pleasantly surprised to find that it’s nice little spot almost like one you’d find in the City, but it’s neatly tucked away just a block or two from me. My first experience in there was great! Hector, the owner is super nice an helpful and he’s put me on to quite a few things I now love that I may not have tried on my own. I’m not a wine person and they have a lot of it, but they also have a nice selection of vodkas and cognacs. Not your typical stuff that you can get from any old liquor store up and down Nostrand Ave. They also offer delivery service! Makes this place a winner for me.

Was extremely excited when I stumbled onto this place. It’s great to have a liquor store in the area without bullet proof glass everywhere and where you can actually pick up and look at the bottles. Hector, the owner, is super helpful and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to giving recommendations based on what you like. If he has a bottle open he’s also really good about letting you taste anything you might be curious about. There’s a bunch of little-​known but excellent liquors that everyone should try and a changing list of wines so it’s worth checking in every now and then to see what might be new. On top of everything else, amazing prices on just about everything. Highly, highly recommend!

After 8 years of living in PLG — this is exactly the place I’ve been waiting for. Hector, the owner, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his inventory of wines and spirits. Good customer service, pleasant phone manner and he was able to recommend 2 amazing Argentinian red wines over the phone that are great value within my budget. The shop took my debit card, set up a customer profile over the phone and delivered within 30 mins. I highly recommend this wine shop. I’ll definitely be returning for 1 of his tastings in the near future!
