Great little place to stop in for a cocktail on a Saturday afternoon. Lisa is pleasant and she even has limes!

It’s a well-preserved, corner dive bar, and there’s a lot to love about it. The staff(Ashley) was über-friendly. With their location and the right vision and business plan, Norman’s has a lot of potential. It’s a great, casual place to hang out. I expect to return. Only marks off were on the beer selection(4 of the 6 pulls were AB), but I’m hoping they up their beer game sometime soon, especially with the burgeoning crop of RI craft breweries.

We waited 45 mins for our order and still had not get our order. There were only 3 tables so it was not packed. Another couple who came before us got their food. The waitress said it would come soon and then she checked with the cook. They made a mistake and the cook had not made our order yet so we cancelled our order. No apology and they said it would be $ 3 for the coffee. They should say sorry and offer free coffee. Very upset with the poor service.

I stopped in for a coffee. I was going to go to a neighboring business. When I parked I noticed how cute it was inside and the sidewalk board offered some really good specials. I wanted to check the place out. I’m glad it has reopened and I have a new place to go for breakfast! The lady working was very nice and hard at work. I loved the specials board. If I had more time I would’ve ordered a meal but I was only killing time before an appointment. I can’t wait to go back and try the food!

Normans is great. Its a downtown EG establishment. A place for Joe Everyman to come for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food I qualitu. Its not fancy, not trying to be something it’s not. It is just regular old bar food. The breakfast menu is traditional american breakfast fare, with eggs, meat, toast, and pancakes. I had the pancakes this morning. They were fantastic. The bloody Mary is excellent as well. The nightlife in the evening is also a blast. I have been many times before and will be back there soon!

When we moved to RI6 years ago, and I was running around all summer long trying to get stuff for us so we could get settled into our new home, Norman’s(on Main St in EG) was like my home away from home; I had lunch there almost every day. The food is delicious, and very fattening, for the most part, but I was doing a lot of running around and figured I wouldn’t gain weight.(Of course, I would have been wrong about that). For the most part I ordered hot wieners and fries and a diet coke(diet coke always helps with the calorie count). I had been without hot wieners(or wienas) for many years, having lived outside of RI for at least forty years. Hot wieners are really a RI thing, despite the fact that they are frequently billed as NY System Hot Wieners. NY does not have anything like this. Everyone from RI who is reading this will know what a hot wiener is, but in case you are not from RI, it is a section of a long long hot dog, chopped off straight at the end, served on a warm, steamed bun, smothered with«wienie sauce» which is spiced, finely chopped and browned hamburger meat, then mustard, then lots and lots of chopped onions(raw, not fried) and then given a very healthy shake of celery salt. To get one of these, just order a «wienie all the way with extra celery salt» — that’s what I get and they are DEE-licious. Norman’s fries are excellent too. I somehow think they are not fresh hand cut, they might be frozen, but they, too, are delicious. I have eaten this delectable meal many times over the past six years,(as recently as yesterday); sometimes at the counter, sometimes in my car, and sometimes inn the Springtime, on an outdoor table and chair at the coffee shoppe next door! Other people have told me the fried chicken, the burgers, and the breakfasts at Norman’s are fahhhhn(fine) too. I believe them. But seriously, I have only had the hot wieners and fries, because whenever I go there, that’s what I want. If I were to order something different, I’d prolly say to add two wieners all the way with extra celery salt and french fries to my order.(This is why I only order the wieners). I highly recommend you try Norman’s. I can guarantee you will like the food if you happen to be fond of good diner food.(Norman’s is NOT a diner, but you will think it is, and it is sort of built like one on the inside, going straight back and narrow.) Anyway, one person wrote(somewhere) that the waitresses are not friendly. I am here to tell you that is simply NOT true. The waitresses are always friendly if you treat them like equals, like humans, and not like they are chopped onions. I am always sweet to them and they are always sweet to me. Norman’s daughter is usually there — she runs the place. She does not look friendly, but she IS. Just smile at her.
