Friendly staff. Limited but solid menu. Their breakfast sandwich with ham and cheese is scrumptious, and the buffalo chicken wrap was a lot better than I expected it to be. It’s actually quite spicy, even though it doesn’t have that standard bright red appearance of most buffalo chicken dishes. It’s like it’s disguised! Prices are actually really reasonable compared to some of Simon Says’ neighbors. Stop in for a coffee or a pastry, breakfast or lunch. This is close to work for me so definitely a spot I can frequent. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s a cozy spot to visit.

What a place you have to try it! Small coffee shop on Main Street. Food was amazing with the best tea I have had in awhile.

Our unit at the hospital received a cookie tray from here as a Christmas gift. 10% of the cookies were burnt with actual black on the bottoms. The other 90% were completely over cooked, dark dark brown and hard. Opening the tray, you smelled the burnt cookies. We called another unit to ask if their cookies were also burnt and over cooked. They responded, «Yeah, but we’re still eating them. They’re not too too bad». Thinking that the person who sent this gift to us probably spent quite a bit of money on these cookies, we called the Café to express our concerns. We were told that the manager had made the cookies and wasn’t there. We were told that they would pass on the message and he would probably want to pick them up the next day to look at them. We couldn’t believe that anyone would think it was okay to let these cookies go out to fill an order. But to make the situation worse, no one came to rectify the situation. We ended up just throwing the cookies out. I had heard these cookies are usually some of the best, but this was my first interaction with this company, and it will definitely be my last. I understand mistakes happen, but that’s when good customer service comes in to play to smooth things over. That never happened.

Simon Says is a jewel of a sandwich shop! Their signature sandwiches are delicious, more than worth the trip to the far north end of Main St.(for those that don’t make it down that way often). Every sandwich we have tried has been superb and they make a great PB&J for the kids, if yours can be as fickle as ours. You have your choice of a few breads and they have some of he best bread around, in fact as much as we enjoy the filler in our sandwiches the bread alone would make them better than most others — huge, soft, decadent… I don’t actually know if they bake it themselves or get it from another bakery but wherever it’s coming from it’s fresh! The Pilgrim, their version of a Thanksgiving sandwich with turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing is particularly outstanding on their multi-grain bread. The Boot is a delicious pile of Italian meats, provolone and a little zest in the forms of hot peppers and balsamic. We also loved their chicken and pesto panini(the name of which escapes me at the moment). All sandwiches come with a choice of side deli salad and they also have freshly baked desserts, bagels and assorted muffins if you’re a little less hungry or just in the mood. Excellent coffee is a plus and they also serve have Virgil’s Root Beer in the cooler, a micro-brewed bottled root beer that is my absolute favorite. Service is usually prompt and always courteous, they are a slim operation so occasional delays are possible at busier times though even with kids this has never been much of an inconvenience. I also wish they had a little more room to play with inside but, it’s Main St. so it’s not like there’s a ton of space anywhere. Those are my only mild gripes, if I could give a 4.5 rating I would, it’s slightly less than perfect but only slightly for what it is and you should definitely give them a try if you haven’t already, you might just find your new favorite lunch!

I was probably one of Simon Says biggest fans and regular customer. My usual is the smoked salmon bagel on an everything, no cream cheese add lettuce tomato. With an iced black almond cookie coffee. That was until about 10 minutes ago when I gave my order and was charged .50 cents per slice of tomato and .50 cents per piece of lettuce… and yes, charged the full dollar extra even though there was cream no cheese and yes, one slice and piece each bc I watched her make it. Listen, I know businesses need to make money to stay open, but when I handed my credit card and saw my usual price was a dollar extra… and don’t think I’m being a cry baby over a dollar, I’m basing this review on pure principle here… I had to ask«Did the price go up?» The cashier told me «It’s .50 cents per item added.» I said«Even though I omitted the cream cheese?» «Yes» she replied. Then telling me she asked the girl making the sandwich to confirm the charge on «behalf of me». So no one told me it’s .50 cents extra per item, you ring up my order then tell me you asked on my behalf? That’s just wrong business sense and I don’t support that. Too bad Simon Says, you just lost a great customer.

Update: Went to Simon Says last week. There has been a change! The paper-lined, red plastic baskets might be a thing of the past. My wrap was served on a sturdy white plastic plate. Still 4 stars.

Received a bagel with mold on it and was told it was«poppyseeds» even though it was a plain bagel. I didn’t want a refund, just a new sandwich. Never ate there again.

This café is really good for coffee. It is always fresh and delicious, and they have many flavors to choose from. I get a Caramel Cream latte almost every morning. That being said, the food and baked goods, in my opinion are just OK. A little lacking in flavor and sometimes taste stale. The staff are very nice and friendly and I would definitely recommend this as a place to stop for a quick coffee!

Small coffee place that doesn’t really shine in my books. Décor is nothing fancy, service is average and I usually have to wipe off the table before I sit down. The iced coffee is decent, but there are plenty of other cafés in the area I would rather go to.

Love Simon Says. They have a few different choices of daily flavored hot coffees, and then they have a pretty expansive list of iced coffees to choose from. They also have really delicious loose leaf tea. They probably have 8 different sandwich options, and a special every day. They also offer sides of potato salad, pasta salad, or chips at no extra charge, and they do half sandwiches. Kinda perfect. As deep as my love runs for this place, I wouldn’t get breakfast here. Bagels and muffins are just okay. Just make sure you bring cash!

This is an ok place, mainly for the good coffee choices. Had a hot maui something or other today. Pretty good. I like that the sides are small and only $.50. I hate places that overcharge for their overized sides. The potato salad was actually pretty good, something I don’t like at many places, and the pasta salad had a good flavor but had no veggies or anything in it. fyi. I got a pilgrim on a wheat wrap. It was just ok, wouldn’t get it again. It was 80% stuffing, very little deli turkey, and I also didn’t love the stuffing. There is a place near my house that does it better, and with hand carved turkey so I will pass on this. I also think if you serve sandwiches it’s a good idea to know what kind of bread it goes best with. The girl said there is no default, just whatever you want it on. It’s nice to have the option to change the bread but a real sandwich shop will have an idea in mind of how it should be, like at 10 Sandwiches or Doks. Just sayin. They also don’t take credit cards so that is a pain. The girl working was nice and it is a cute little place. I would probably check out some other nearby places before coming back though

I hate to bring this place back to earth from it’s perfect 5 stars, but I simply have to. Based on Wendy’s review, I stopped in to pick up some bagels. I love to support small businesses, so, upon arrival, it seemed like my kind of place. When I saw the barren bakery case, I should have followed my instincts and boogied out. There were literally less than a dozen bagels in the case(along with some croissants and cookies). But I persevered, knowing Wendy wouldn’t steer me wrong and ordered 3 bagels to go with cream cheese on the side and a large coffee(house blend) for $ 9.40 and went on my way. The staff was friendly and the 5 or so patrons all appeared to know each other. Long story short, the bagels were truly awful and you would not be able to convince me they were baked fresh. There was absolutely no chew, no flavor development, and even the sesame seeds had all the flavor sucked out of them. If you’ve had a Thomas’ bagel, that’s what it tasted like… a roll. The coffee was average… a little bland for me. Sorry folks, I know some people are passionate about this place, but if you get past wanting to love this place, it’s tough to love this place.

Simon Says is everything a small coffee house should be & more. It ornate, trendy, and the food is the best. Having given up coffee I still go for the great sandwiches that they serve on wheat bread(I only eat wheat). The selection of sandwiches is great and the owner is a great guy. Would recommend Simon Says to anyone looking for a good sandwich(and coffee).

I’m such a fan. It is HARD to find a good bagel in Rhode Island(especially when coming from the tri state area). We walked into Simon Says after reading the reviews, reluctant to believe them since the joint is completely unassuming. Much to our surprise we enjoyed a delicious lunch. Friendly staff, clean, local café, and excellent food. I had the smoked salmon bagel meal(mmmmm!) and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the Maribeth sandwich. It’s now our go-to spot for a lunchtime sandwich craving.

If you’re hungry at lunchtime, you need to try this place out! I am in love with the Maribeth Sandwich — which has turkey, melted Swiss, and tomato on wheat. They offer fresh baked goods, and delicious specialty coffees. What really makes this place shine is the friendly staff. If you need a break from work — even if it’s 15 mins, you can walk in and be greeted with a smile. The portions are very generous — you’ll have leftovers for dinner, and they only accept cash or check.

Went into this little coffee shop at the end of main street when I was visiting a friend. I didn’t realize the place is cash only and all I had on me was enough for coffee. The workers gave me my breakfast ham and cheese sandwich and told me I could come in tomorrow and pay for the food i ordered. Service like that doesn’t come around that often, it made my day

Simon Says is the charming neighborhood coffee shop everyone wants at the end of their street. Located on Main Street in East Greenwich, it has wonderful sandwiches, muffins and COFFEE! I can never remember what coffee to order here because every single flavor is sooo delicious.

I love this cute little coffee shop. I’ve been coming here for years and it only seems to get better. They have a large assortment of coffees and teas, as well as a great variety on their menu. I love to go here to people watch and get some work done.
