I finally popped in today, I needed some flowers for my gardens, so I wanted to look around. There is plenty of parking and the place is kept clean and tidy. The woman working in the nursery was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She happily answered my questions and the questions of the other customers and helped us select plants that would do well in the areas we described to her. I didn’t know if I would end up buying anything here today but the prices were good and I was able to use the 10% check-in coupon. Also available here is mulch, vegetable plants, herb plants, and soil outside and in the nursery. Inside the shop they offer wine, honey, maple syrup, and various other local products. I inquired about the wine tastings offered here and the cheerful gentleman behind the counter informed me that they are being offered every Friday and Saturday until October. This is a lovely little business and I’m very glad I finally stopped in.

New to the CT wine trail this year, we stopped by Staehly Farm Winery one afternoon. We did a tasting and the man doing the tasting was friendly and informative. They have mostly fruit wines and a very unique tomato wine. It was interesting. They have a ton of goodies in their shop — unique dips, cheeses, jams, baked goods, and of course it is a farm stand so there are the typical plants. We left with some basil plants and some wine. Definitely a place I’d like to visit again. It’s more of a store than a destination to hang out, so plan your trip with a stop here first and then move on to another location for your picnic/lunch.
