These guys are crooks. Tried to double charge for drinks thinking customer won’t notice. Clearly not an error.

I’m guessing they read the reviews here, because they seem to have corrected the blandness. Now the food is a lot more flavorful and the waitresses are lot more attentive. This buffet has now become my go to place for lots of food. I still wish they’d bring back the soft serve ice cream though. The sushi is still just meh.

Huge variety of food, even packaged ice cream. The food was fresh and the prices were good. I really enjoyed the food here and the service too. Probably the best buffet in the area

Pretty good food and selection. The wait staff was pretty nice too. All smiles and refilled drinks without hesitation. Delicious kimchi, which caught me by surprise. If you’re in the area and hungry for a variety, Sakura is a good spot to go.

Not the best, but not the worst. The seafood smelled a little old, and it had that very stinky fishy smell. It’s a typical Chinese buffet. They did raise the price on Mother’s day to $ 18 pp from the usually $ 13. It was my first time there in awhile, if I knew it was $ 18, I probably would’ve went somewhere else. The fruit was fresh, the ice cream was all melted and refrozen.

GOTFOODPOISONING. Been there twice. The first time was not bad, pretty average Chinese buffet and have decent amount of choices. Went there again last night, same food as before, except this time middle of night both me and my boyfriend started having really bad diarrhea and food poisoning symptoms. woke up during night every 2 hours to use the bathroom. In the morning we felt so awful and fatigue. Got such bad food poisoning from this place. Also, we gave $ 3 tip after meal, which is not high but not awful for 2 ppl and buffet(all they did was provided water in the beginning & we usually tip around 20%). And when the waitress saw that tip, she’s like«3 dolla only? 3 dolla?» and gave us a look like she’s so disgusted by us. She should remember customer is priority for a restaurant. We are never going back again. Ever.

The price is right at Sakura… But the quality just isn’t there yet. There’s only three dishes that I thoroughly enjoy here: steamed flounder, chicken with broccoli, and hot and sour soup. What’s the good in a buffet if you only ever get three things they serve? Hibachi bar is anti-climactic. Not a lot of flavor, just lots of sauce and oil. The sushi is pretty bland as well. I usually just pick at the tuna roll, but nothing to write home about. Service is actually not bad. We’ve been here a hand full of times and the waitresses are really nice and attentive– they come by often to clear our table and refill our drinks. What I do enjoy about this place is their ice cream bar! They have individually wrapped desserts from strawberry shortcake bars to those ice cream cups you scoop out with the mini wooden spoons. Brought me back to my childhood once I saw it. We have at least two items from the cart everytime we visit.

My three stars includes the price and quality. Two words, it’s cheap. Don’t expect top quality food, but for the price of $ 8 for lunch, you get much more than fast foods elsewhere, for example, a combo meal at Burger King, Wendy, or Chipolet. Dinner is now $ 14, it’s not much better than lunch in terms of food. No king crabs, if you want king crabs, go somewhere else and pay $ 18. This restaurant should be compared to fast food restaurants. Just keep that in mind. I do wish they can make the sushi a little bit better…

$ 8.99 per person for lunch on a Saturday! They have all sorts of food: salad, soups, Italian, Chinese, seafood, sushi, hibachi, dessert, fruits, ice cream… I went straight for the seafood — sushi, clams, AND crawfish! Then, had some desserts & fruits. My brother had an accident with a faulty chair, and the restaurant didn’t have a first aid kit to clean his wound. Just gave him some fresh naps to wipe his wound and a bandaid. And they blamed that a heavier/bigger person probably used the chair previously, so the seat cushion popped off. I guess bring your own first aid kit wherever you go, in case like this restaurant didn’t have a proper first aid kit when an accident happens. Anyways, price is def a 5-star. The food is not necessarily the freshest, but what can you expect from a buffet restaurant.

My bestie and I came here for lunch on a weekday. First time for us both. I’ve never been a fan of all-you-can-eat buffets. Eating at Sakura reinforced that sentiment. Cold foods — sushi was subpar which I guess was not surprising given that I’ve been to some of the best sushi restaurants in NYC. Couldn’t identify the fish in each tray of sushi rolls(almost all the sushi were rolls). They even had a sushi roll with bananas in the middle. I also had the small shell-on cooked shrimps — bland. Hot and sour soup — strangely on the sweet side. Hot foods — didn’t even try half of their offerings. What I did try was just meh. There was a cooked-to-order station with noodles and raw meats but I didn’t bother because of the long wait. Fried foods — sadly, these were my favorites. Crispy and tasty fried chicken wings; mini sesame balls with, maybe, red bean paste(I doubt it since this is an expensive ingredient) and spring rolls. Service was ok — dirty plates collected as soon as you got up for another trip to the buffet tables. Great place to sit and catch up with friends(no time limit to sit at tables). Not sure if I can(or want to) eat $ 7.99 worth of fried chicken wings so I won’t be going back.

I was in there about a month ago, and the food was pretty good. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was good, and there was a very nice selection of vegetables last time(chicken with broccoli, sautéed string beans, etc). Unfortunately, that all seemed to change when I stopped in yesterday for some take-out. There were virtually NO green vegetables! No broccoli(not even with chicken or beef), no string beans — and the only actual vegetable I saw was mushrooms(in some watery looking liquid). The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was OK, but the General Tso’s and Black Pepper Chicken were on the low side of mediocre. It’s really a shame that this place seems to have taken a nose-dive in the last month or so. I was looking forward to bringing people to try it — but that is not very likely to happen at this point.

I had high hopes for this buffet. I’ve been to a few such buffets and I have certain expectations: * variety of dishes * sushi counter * dessert area Variety of dishes: 3 stars. Much smaller than I was hoping. Two of them were chicken w/broccoli and beef w/broccoli, so that much less variety among what I could eat. The salt and pepper chicken was probably my favorite. Quality of dishes: Subpar. Too salty, rather chewy or even gummy for several dishes. When I did the hibachi, my food came out so far superior to every other dish on offer. That says that they’re really not putting good ingredients together otherwise. The crab(dinner) was nigh unto inedible. I was scraping the inside of the shell and still got as much shell pieces as actual meat. Salt and pepper shrimp — I mean, if you just eat the entire shrimp with shell on, sure, maybe, but eating the meat without the shell, it was just mushy shrimp. Sushi: Nonexistent. Every single roll was cooked. Eel on one, fake crab on several, or just vegetables. Absolutely nothing raw. The sign even warns of undercooked fish! So no stars at all for that. Ignore the sushi area entirely. Desserts: Also subpar. A lot of fruits, a couple of puddings, and a couple of baked goods. Theme of the day: not enough variety. Might be worth it for lunch if you need to eat a lot and you don’t really care how it tastes. You probably won’t get sick. But give dinner a pass, and really, there are any number of other buffets in the area, all better, if you have a little travel flexibility.

The dinner buffet is much more pleasant than lunch. There are so much more option. It is one of few places who service oysters and crawfish at buffet table. in addition, they added more sea food, such al clam, shrimp(steamed and fried), salmon, etc in the dinner menu. After all, I think it is the best buffet place on Route 10, unless you want to go west of I-287 and try Minado.

The previous business(Royal Buffet) had gotten very bad. They just re-opened(late 2015) as Sakura Buffet and they are very much improved. The facility has been cleaned up. Food that was previously tepid in temperature was HOT and freshened often throughout our visit. We were very happy with the update to this business. I don’t know if the owners changed or not, but whoever is in charge now is doing a much better job! That being said, it is a $ 12.99 buffet. DON’T EXPECTGOURMETFOOD! But if you like to eat lots of food, this place is a very good option.

I was here at 8pm and there were enough food but the sushi did not look nor tasted fresh. Place was neat. Staff did not seemed friendly nor asked me for refils. Dinner price $ 12.99 was resonable for the food I had.

As I expected, it’s pretty much the same as the previous Royal Buffet but with a different name and a few aesthetic changes. The staff here are much friendlier than those from the previous ownership. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but it also seems like the elevated seating area on the left side of the place is used more frequently now. Lunch is $ 7.99(11am to 3:30pm). I was here for about an hour and saw the cooks constantly subbing in new metal trays of food around the clock. The more popular items – most of the seafood dishes, chicken on a stick, seafood delight, the meatballs with shrimp, etc. – tend to have a little more flavor than others. A lot of people go for the sushi, so I was glad to see that they look and taste a lot better than before. There isn’t too much of a variety, but good enough to fill your sushi craving. The desserts are standard, with my personal favorite being the sugared peanuts. I suggest skipping the flan. It was disgusting and tasted like the base was made of something other than egg. Their flan has the shape and color you would expect, but I did not like the taste at all. Overall, Sakura Grill is solid so far. I don’t frequent buffets much but wouldn’t mind stopping by for another quick lunch.

This location used to be Royal buffet and was closed and now become Sakura. They did interior renovation however, food selections and set ups are pretty similar to Royal buffet. Honestly, i was a little disappointed. With the name«Sakura» i was under the impression it will be more of sushi buffet, however, it is still more of a Chinese buffet. I still enjoy the food and this is one of the bigger and nicer chinese buffet in the area just dont expected to have alot of japanese foods like Minado Buffet or you will be disappointed.

This is the first time I ever considered refusing to pay for my meal at a restaurant. My wife, my 16 month old daughter, and I came to Sakura at 5pm on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. The layout of the buffet felt very scattered and it felt like it had much less variety of entrée-type dishes than many of the other buffets that I’ve been to. The presentation of the food was less-than-spectacular as well; many dishes did not look very appetizing. The sauces had a slimy film on top and most dishes were sitting in pools of oil. They also somehow made fresh fruit seem undesirable by leaving unnecessary pieces of rind on the melon slices while the orange slices had many splotches of brown on the rinds. The food was just terrible. There was very little flavor in most of the dishes we tried, including chicken dishes, beef dishes, and pork dishes. We stayed away from the seafood, as we became suspect of the quality of the food after trying the other dishes. The chicken inside the sweet & sour chicken tasted funny. The only decent dishes we had were the lo mein and the hibachi noodles. The hibachi steak was very flavorless on its own. The food was so disappointing that at one point during our meal, my wife actually said to me, «At this point, I just hope we don’t get sick.» The service was decent, however, as drinks were refilled quickly and the waitresses were very nice. They didn’t clear away old plates as often or quickly as I would have liked, but that’s fairly minor. My biggest complaint in regards to service was the fact that two separate waitresses came up to my daughter and touched her face without asking us first. Not only is it just not socially acceptable to touch someone else’s child without asking first, but it’s even worse if you’re handling peoples dirty dishes, etc. before doing that. I know she’s absolutely adorable, but come on. The final disappointment came when I realized what was below the illuminated«Ice Cream» sign hanging above the buffet. I expected, at the least, a soft serve machine and some sprinkles with which to top your frozen dairy treat. Nope. There was just a sad-looking half empty chest freezer with Hershey’s brand ice cream bars and ice cream cups. While the ice cream was decent, it’s less than I’ve come to expect at a buffet such as this. Also, note that if you want to take one of the ice cream treats to go, they’ll charge you 50 cents extra. As I said at the beginning of this review, I really struggled giving them our hard earned money after that meal. With the quality of the food the way that it was, my wife and I felt cheated. Suffice it to say, Sakura will not be getting us as return customers.

I went to the restaurant the second day they were open for dinner. The staff seemed well trained and attended to the customers well. Some of the staff didn’t seem to know English very well but they managed to communicate. The restaurant is nicely renovated from the old Royal Buffet that preceded them in the location. The layout is similar with about 10 large buffet tables and a sushi section and a hibachi grill section. There was a large selection of Chinese food. The sushi was primarily rolls with a much smaller section of nigiri sushi(fish over rice). The fish used was primarily tuna, salmon, tilapia and eel. They offered no sashimi or custom requests for sushi of your choice. I didn’t try the hibachi grill, but the way it works is you serve yourself raw meats and vegetables from a refrigerated table and you hand the plate to the chef who will season it and grill it on the Hibachi. For those familiar with the old Royal Buffet, it’s similar to the Mongolian barbecue they had. The main difference to me seemed to be the cooking surface. I’m a real fan of seafood at buffets such as this. At the cold table they served raw oysters on the half shell and peel and eat shrimp. Gone from the Royal Buffet days are clams and mussels on the half shell. For hot seafood they had flounder, salmon, crawfish, salt and pepper shrimp, shrimp with garlic sauce, steamed cherrystone clams and a small crab that was deep fried. Again, comparing this to Royal Buffet I was really sad to see they didn’t have snow crab legs or dungeness crab. Gone also was the fried whiting and mackerel. For those preferring American food, there was a station with some beef you carved yourself, chicken wings, ribs, pizza, etc. There’s an extensive amount of desserts available. Instead of having soft serve ice cream, there’s a freezer with ice creams bars, primarily of the Hershey brand. All the food I ate was delicious. The hot tables kept the food sufficiently hot for your enjoyment and for food safety reasons. As items were consumed the staff promptly restocked the empty trays. The price was very reasonable. $ 12.99 for dinner and $ 7.99 lunch. Perhaps this low price was the reason that one of my favorites, snow crab, wasn’t present on the buffet. I will definitely return to this buffet again.
