The botanical gardens are beautiful and great for children. There is a small amphitheatre, musical steps, and a maze which keep the kids engaged and entertained. There is also a sand pit where they can dig for fossils. We spent a few hours wandering the gardens and taking photos. Don’t forget to walk through the rose garden, there is an especially beautiful trellis and climbing rosebush.

Such a great place in the middle of a college campus. I still go there today. My husband and I came here when were first married and still come here now that we have kids. We love all the gardens. The ½ acre 4-H Children’s Garden is a favorite right now, particularly the Treehouse Area and the Merry Go Round Fountains.

As an MSU student, I was pleasantly surprised to find these gardens tucked away behind the Plant and Soil Sciences building. The gardens are absolutely beautiful in the summer. They’re definitely one of the most beautiful places on campus. The area also includes a childrens garden with fun activities for kids. This is a great place to go for an hour to two, young or old. Truly a hidden gem at MSU.

This is a great place to take your parents when they come visit you on the weekends. Its sprawling, beautiful and free! Also, a great place for a romantic afternoon. Every student should make it here at least once.

This was and still is one of my favorite places at Michigan State. The garden is absolutely gorgeous. What a beautiful, peaceful place. There is even a Children’s Garden attached. Stop by the pond and try and spot a few frogs.
